Open Cdmage

File>open: locate iso (mine being called ho-gt4d.iso)

Then image type comes up Just press open

On the left of your screen it should have:
image (ho-gt4d.iso)
- session 1
+Track 1 (mode etc...)

Click on track 1

Right click on pcpx_966.49 (which has now come up on the right side of your screen)
click extract files
Choose the location you want to extract to (the top bit)
Open the file where you extracted it with that axe program and do what the guide says about editing it. (mentioned a couple of pages back)

THen Get back to CDmage Right click on pcpx_966.49 again click on import file, locate the Edited pcpx_966.49 file and bingo. YOU MUST HAVE that pcpx_966.49 file highlighted... and you must RIGHT click on that file to find the option to Import it :D

thats it. finished. exit the program.. burn the Iso and it should work...

There is no import option that I can see...only export :(

Franz, you're the man, followed your guide and it worked, i can see that you unpacked the magazine demo, the file name is different in the downloaded version, but thankfully the steps can be followed exactly as you posted even on the downloaded demo, i opened up the different file name and it had the same lines, so no problem there, so after that all i did was use the filename my demo has for the volume set.

so for all those wondering, yes it can also be done on the downloaded one.

Ok. Finally managed to create a correct ISO. The version of CDmage posted above works fine. Newer version doesnt seem to have the import function. So now I have a timerlessness version. :)

And the raw codes work fine on the GSv3 (US).

I'm still having problems doing the CDmage thing....I can make the bin and cue no probs but when I go to burn it it's asking for a CD and refuses to burn to DVD...tried Alcohol and Nero :(

Wow, you guys have very clear instructions. Just got done and now I have to wait for it to burn. My friend is messing around trying to make really funny colors for the sky as we speak. Anyway thanks for the instructions.

You don't need to make a bin and cue, you just extract that single file from the ISO-Image of the demo:
jonno747
Open Cdmage <- use this version!!!

File>open: locate iso (mine being called ho-gt4d.iso)

Then image type comes up Just press open

On the left of your screen it should have:
image (ho-gt4d.iso)
- session 1
+Track 1 (mode etc...)

Right click on pcpx_966.49 (which has now come up on the right side of your screen)
click extract files
Choose the location you want to extract to (the top bit)
Then make the changes Franz described:
Franz
1. download AXE from here http://www.jbrowse.com/products/axe/download.shtml
2. install it and run it
3. open PCPX_966.49 file with AXE
4. look at offset column and scoll down to 001F0740
5. you will see that row like this FF FF 42 24 07 00 40 14 .... and you change the first 8 digits to FF 00 FF 00 .... then that line should be FF 00 FF 00 07 00 ...
6. Save and overwrite PCPX_966.49
After that you import the changed file into the ISO again:
jonno747
Then Get back to CDmage Right click on pcpx_966.49 again click on import file, locate the Edited pcpx_966.49 file and bingo. YOU MUST HAVE that pcpx_966.49 file highlighted... and you must RIGHT click on that file to find the option to Import it :D

thats it. finished. exit the program.. burn the Iso and it should work...

Try the other method then, maybe that one works for you:

older one by Franz: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showpost.php?p=1337723&postcount=957
newer one by Franz and Jonno 747: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showpost.php?p=1338482&postcount=1028

I don't know which one you used, take a look and try the other one.

Cheers,

Just burnt my "new demo" with the time limit removed.

OMG, the ring is long. Had to shooo the kids out of the room on numerous occasions so that I could manage a half decent lap. Clocked a 7.32 in the Falken with a manual box, assists on on my 1st ever lap round the ring.
That baby is loose with assists off...need more practice.

👍

Just to be sure. So all I need to do is what the Interceptor has said in post 1029? Or do I need anything else such as a GameShark or something like that?

Thanks.

Yup that's all you need to do. The purpose of hex editing it is so you don't need a Gameshark/AR/Xploder cheat device :)

You know the abs and tsc is still on? Imagine all of the aid off

anyone know any good programs to get an ISO off the PS2 harddrive? I don't like using WinHiip cuz I'm using HDL Dumb and the last time I used both some games wouldn't show up anymore...

THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

Franz, Jonno, everyone who helped: Thank you very much. Great detailed instructions and links to the programs I needed, worked easily and 15 minutes later I'm hotlapping the ENTIRE NORDSCHLEIFE!! This will make the next 24 days a little easier for me. Endless laps in time trial, yes. Wonder how long the replay will record?

Is there a way to remove driving aids with this method?

Thanks again!

Yes Thank you all very much. I just did this and it worked!!! You guys made my day much better.

Too bad I can´t play right now, but I´m just so happy that it worked!

Thank you all again. 👍

Everything works fine! :) Now one more thing could be done (well it would be good :) , that is to remove auto-exit after you press pause. I mean, when you press pause and wait for 20 sec or smth, game closes and brings you ro result menu.....20sec thats too short :)

Thanks guys, works like a charm. I think I can beat that 'vette, but that viper's gonna be a tough cookie to catch huh? :D but doable I think. Lost him only in the last section of the first lap, so will have to practice some more.

Darn! Same camera angles on subsequent laps. I was hoping they would change. Did anyone know that the position counter on time trial mode actually tells you if you are in front of your best lap ghost or not. This is nice when you like to turn the ghost off so it doesn't distract you.

Wan't to know how long the Nurburgring is? 12 sectors. 7:36 is my best after just a few laps but I have yet to keep from crashing when slowing down from the 180mph straightaway. Great fun and many seconds to shave off ahead! I'm guessing around a 7:20 will be possible. Flinx? Arwin?

So is the AI putting up a signifcantly better challenge than GT3?

Can someone please, please, PLEASE either a) put up an "adjusted" image file for straight up download/burn, b) translate these instructions for a Mac user or c) send me an "adjusted" copy? This is killing me.
