Its taken me a while to get around to putting these up, so sorry for the delay, they are in no particular order as quite simply I had too many shots.

Thanks Amp88, I've been meaning to put them up for a while, just been putting it off knoing how long the shot would take through Imageshack. Still it was worth it.

Going to have a couple of updates in the next few weeks as well, this Wednesday I have to give a presentation at the National Motorcycle Museum, so I hope to have time afterwards for a quick look around and a few pictures.

Then on the 22nd July its one of my favorite days of the year, the Rally Supercar day at Castle Combe, always a great day, that one will result in lots of shots.

Hmmm, Rally Supercar day at Castle Combe.... Just down the road... Reckon we'll have to hook up, Scaff...:)

Sounds like it could be a plan, you ever been before?

Its an amazing day (will try and get some of my old shots up), particularly if you're a rally fan, which I am in a big way.

wow theres a nice collection of old F1 cars :sly:

im guessing the monaco backdrop is suppose to be the 2005 season but how come i see a midland car?

Thanks for the feed-back and glad you like the shots.

A lot of the older stuff was down to the 100 years of Formula 1 display, which had some amazing stuff and stunning cars.

I have to say the level of access on some of the displays was great, the shots (in the first group) of Raikkonen's car show just how close you could get.

For example in this shot....

....those are my dad's feet, they had no problem at all with you getting as close as you wanted with that particular car (which my dad loved as he is a huge Raikkonen fan).

In regards to the Monaco grid, it is a recreation of the 2005 grid.

Rally Supercar Day 2006 - Part 1

OK I went to the annual Rally Supercar day at Castle Combe last weekend with my Dad and Wife, here are some of the pictures.

We started off with a good look around the Paddock as normal, present were the usual range, which I have grouped to make finding them easier.

Audi

Ford

Lancia

Land Rover & Bowler

Treated my wife to a couple of laps around an off-road track in a Bowler Wildcat, one of the biggest grins I have ever seen on her face when it was over.

MG Rover

Mitsubishi

Nissan

Rally Supercar Day 2006 - Part 2

Opel

Wiltshire Police

Here’s how Wiltshire Poice get the message across about not being an idiot on the road.

Renault

Richard Burns Collection

The Richard Burns Foundation brought along a collection of his main rally cars over the years, this stand brought a lump to my throat.

Subaru

Talbot

Toyota

Other Stuff

The weather had been lovely, sunny and hot all morning. We moved down from the paddock to Quarry corner to watch the track displays in the afternoon. At which point while still very, very hot; the heavens opened and in poured down with rain.

Massed under some trees to begin with, the shelter they provided was soon useless as the rain go heavier. In the end we had no choice but to wait it out in the car for a while.

After about half an hour the rain eased and we carried on watching the track action until the end of the day, while my camera is no use for stills when the cars are on track, I did use it for a few videos,. The quality is not great, but I hope they are enjoyable none the less.

Edited to add - Almost forgot I got a very nice new T-shirt as well.

My girlfriends parents marshall at Combe. Now I know where the two Starions that I saw on the road were going. I'm happy to see they had that Richard Burns stand, poor guy.

They do things like that here, but not in detail like that. I wish they would, maybe more people would get the message.

It can be an effective way of getting a message across, but having had a good look around the car a few questions did come to mind.

Remember that here in the UK the drivers seat is on the right hand side of the car, which can be seen in the pictures to have suffered little damage in comparison to the passenger side (which is very heavely damaged).

While it is certainly possiable that the force of the imapct was sufficent to cause fatal damage, I suspect that the driver may not have been wearing a seat-belt.

Awsome Scaff, great pics. Were there any Dolly Sprints at these events? I thought they did rallying in them way back in the day?

Love the older cars especially over the new more modern ones. Thanks for the pics.

Great pics, Scaff. 👍 One question, though. What was the focus of this picture? The Carrera or the ladies? Maybe a bit of both, I think. 💡

It was the Carrera, IIRC the barrier was close on that side so getting a descent angle was very tricky.

BTW - Thanks everyone for the feedback on the shots, I'm glad you enjoyed them. More will follow from future events (and past stuff once I get them all on my PC).

Thanks

Nice pics, I love the Subaru STI Spec C. Looks just like mine, but I have the Spec C w/ the orange corners not clear! Oh, well I'll get em soon.

By the way, you are really good at taking pictures!
