Just had my race with Grevling. It was a tough race, with the two of us swapping the lead almost every lap. The whole race we were not more than 2s apart. It all came down to the last straight and a run for the line, and I won by 0.064s.

Congratulations to everyone, very easy to read reports of the races. Congratulations to Matt, well driven mate...I wish you good luck on next stages...

Now I will get involved into "unemployed" events, as I got disqualified now from Event 02 (luckily there are many choices now :))
 
GTP_Hyperspeed VS GTP_Mr_Volcano

Firstly I have to say I was proper :nervous: all morning at the thought of this race. :crazy:

We joined first time, no problem and a nice small grid. We both got out of the way with no problems and resumed are positions on the grid.

30 seconds soon came and we were off quick and clean. First 3 laps were close, on the 4th I was starting to pull a little gap. Braking for the Chicane on lap 4 I notice Mr_V approaching fast. Too fast as he missed his brake marker, gave me a small tap and he got a penalty for it. :ouch: From there I knew if I could finish the race without any mistakes it was mine. :sly:

Lap 8 I am gaining on the Yellow Evo in 1st place. I was really worried he could punt me, but I overtook him on the straight with no drama and not using his slip either. :) Soon put a good gap between us, and that is pretty much it.

As I said to PrudentBear and will now say to mr_VOLCANO, it's a measure of the quality in this event that racers of such calibre are eliminated.

A hypothetical question. At the start of the race the two combatants finds themselves as the only two participants in a race. (yeah right...)

Is it OK to start immediately at the go if they have agreed to do so should this situation occur?

If so, is it still OK to do so even though the grid positions are switched?

My race with Spitfire never happened, we had agreed to race yesterday during the day but he didn't turn up all day, in fact he hadn't even accepted my PSN friend request.

GTP_Tzayad versus GTP_fusflash

The first battle was planned for 15:12, and it was a smallish grid. A couple non-desrcript players from Spain, France, and Italy however, made the racers just a bit nervous. Nevertheless, they let them all pass, and re positioned themselves into our rightful spots.

The two racers jump off, one after the other, and dive into T1. Tzayad in the lead going into the corner, with fusflash close after. About two laps go by, and the lead is widening, but not at a rate where Tzayad could be too comfortable. It was clear that they were still at the point where any mistake on Tzayad's part would bring drafting into the equation. At the same time, Tzayad had to battle with two less than mature drivers, one drifting in a R34, and another punting in a F430.

Skillfully Tzayad found passing points in the corners, so as to not gain hugely by drafting them on the straights of Fuji. Soon, fusflash needed to do the same, and from my perspective, all did not go as smoothly, including a track penalty.

After that fiasco, the lead steadily increased, with no drafting in the equation. After 10 laps, it was Tzayad in the lead.

Great racing fusflash, there were more than enough nervous moments to keep it interesting for the both of us!

GTP_Fuzzy v GTP_Vaxen

In order to minimize interference with the grid, we decided to wait 50 seconds for the start. In addition to myself, GTP_Grim_Reaper (acting as observer), and Fuzzy, there were 3 others in the race.

Vaxen, in P2, got a much better start and led into turn 1, and at the end of lap 1. Fuzzy passed on the straight and led lap 2. This ended up defining the character of the entire race, as there were plenty of lead changes. Some side by side racing in a couple of the corners, but absolutely no contact.

We passed the first backmarker on lap 5, but he was well off track.

On lap 6, we caught the the next backmarker, a black California. He must have been on S3s, as he was having serious trouble in the corners, but was blazing fast on the straights. Fuzzy was in the lead when we caught him, but in the scramble to avoid him, Fuzzy ended up with a very slow exit from the last corner. This allowed Vaxen to take the lead down the straight. The California's massive straightline speed, however, allowed the California to pass Vaxen before turn 1. He went way wide on that corner, however, allowing Vaxen pass him back.

Running order at this point was Vaxen, California, and Fuzzy, with about a 2-3 second lead for Vaxen. Fuzzy made short work of the California, however, and then slowly closed the gap on Vaxen, and we resumed our back and forth battle.

Vaxen led all of lap 9, and Fuzzy passed on the straight as we started lap 10. I made a couple small errors which allowed Fuzzy to get about two second lead.

Going in to the hairpin on lap 10, Fuzzy began to close on the leader (making up a 50 second initial lead!). This allowed me to begin to close the gap a bit going into the final corner, but another bobble meant that there was too much of a gap. Also, Fuzzy managed to catch the draft of the leader coming off the final corner.

Final results, GTP_Fuzzy wins the race by 0.5 sec over GTP_Vaxen.

Congrats to Fuzzy for an awesome race, and thanks to Grim for serving as observer. The race was clean and close the whole way, just they way they are supposed to be.

FLASH48 and I ran our race this morning. We agreed to a start of 6:05 pm GMT. Here is our race, to the best of my recollection, although I did not record and some of this could be out of sequence. :dopey:

First race, it was the 2 of us and one other racer, in a tuned viper. When he saw us pull off the grid at the start and reset, he decided to give me a hassle by running into me and making it difficult for me to get to my grid position. By the time I was in position, 32 seconds had passed and FLASH48 was tearing down the front straight. He had about a 2 second lead at the end of lap 1. Turn 1, lap 2, both of us were disconnected from server.

Second race, ran at 6:15 PM GMT.

Lap 1 - Again, the 2 of us, along with one other racer in a Ford GT LM. FLASH 48 was on grid 2, but got a good start and was able to maintain the inside line going into turn 1. The other racer held up and tried waiting for us, then had a penalty at turn 2, causing him to ghost and allowing both FLASH 48 and I to pass. He eventually disappeared from the race entirely, so I believe we were fortunate to have FLASH48 as host.

Lap 2 - I was able to pass using the slipstream on the front straight. But I did not take the inside line going into turn 1, FLASH 48 was able to re-pass entering turn 1 and led the entire lap.

Lap 3 - I was able to pass using slipstream on the front straight and led the entire lap.

Lap 4 - FLASH48 Was able to pass me in turn 1. We ran side by side up to turn 2, I was on the inside. I held line entering the turn and was able to make the pass. I built up a lead of about 0.5 at the line.

Lap 5 - FLASH48 Attempted a pass entering turn 1, but braked too late and ran deep, into the over run tarmac. That allowed me to take a 2 second lead.

From there, I was able to build on my lead for the rest of the race, finished with a 17:59.xxx, about 4 seconds ahead of FLASH48 at the line.

To my knowledge, we had zero contact throughout the race. FLASH48 was a true gentleman and a worthy opponent. I hope to find him out on the track again soon. 👍

Got in the race at :04 past the hour with GTP_Hyperspeed and GTP_Wannabee in the line up as spectators, we waited the 30 seconds and off we went trading 1st place almost every lap there was never more than a second between us for all 10 laps and we even had to carve our way through the traffic .. and ended up 3rd and 4th at the finish line 👍

It was a great race and almost no mistakes were made by either one of us 👍 It was all down to the final straight and I got around the corner first and as it was the final sprint I set off towards the right hand side wall to try and stop Will from getting the draft to the line, he still got the draft and we ended up .2 seperating is at the finish with me just marginally ahead :)

Cracking battle mate and no contacts or incidents at all :cool: Loved it and want to say Thanks for a quality encounter ;)

Great racing, traffic was a blessing and a curse but surely added to the realism. Thanks to Mr. P for a heated but very clean battle, I had a couple spectators watching in the living room and they were glued to the screen. Back and forth battles all over the track, I have really learned to enjoy the wide variety of racing lines Fuji offers, and the M3 is well paired to it. Great race, great event!
 
Thanks to my brother being a complete and utter tosser (I hate my brother so much), it looks like I might have to resign.:mad: Unless GTP_ThaCrazyOne can race tomorrow.
