Autumn Ring Surprise Night round 2

As always everyone is welcome...especially newer drivers. ...so driving aids are allowed...

You will be racing 15 laps of the Autumn Ring Circuit (followed by more shorter races) on Monday 21 March at 9.30pm GMT. ...but there will also be a practice race session on Sunday 20th March at 9pm GMT (in a different car than the one we will be racing Monday)...all gtp members welcome to this.

Room opens on Monday at 8.30pm for practise/qualifying. (PSN: CSSdk..add me and write Autumn Ring in the subject)
I will continue to use my lounge since it worked really well, for almost everyone

You will not know what car you are racing until you join the room, though I can tell you it will be possible to paint it red ;):D. and it will have no more than 250 hp

The car will be ready to pick up in the garage at 8.30pm. All you need to do is choose the color and tyres.

There will be no points awarded.

Please try to drive as clean as possible. ...but don't be too worried about the odd bump eh??

Banter while driving is more than welcome. ...so get a headset...

Please post below if you are interested, even if you are already a member of the club, and/or have raced before .....a few is good but the more the merrier...

If the Internet allows me I'll be there. I got disconnected from the room tonight, but hopefully things will work out for the better better next week.

Oh, by the way, Red is not the fastest colour, i won today with a yellow car with wipers ON :sly:
 
Btw, I'm glad we'll be able to paint it red. I think the black/white/yellow only car was what made my PS3 and/or my Internet connection protest. In the race I joined after having been disconnected for the umpteenth time from DJ's room I painted the car red - no problems at all. 👍

Stick down my mate 'Whitters' for next week. He is not on these forums but will be up for some racing with us.

Any clues to what car we have so I can get some practise in???? BHP range?

To be honest, I don't have any idea what car to choose, I thought I would be able to choose between all the cars in my garage ( I was gonna go with a BMW 318 touring car, which is just one of the best handling cars ), but no no no, only the ones the game recommends (which is just the stupidest thing ever. 52 available cars out 1030 :ill:)... but it will probably be a FR Car with around 250-350 hp...

Forgot to say......if any friends who not got them, wants to borrow F1 cars, FGT or X2010? They are set to online so you can borrow them.

The X2010 getting abit tired now tho has done many 24hr B spec races.
Still beats any AI car in career A spec tho.

What we could do in the future when we feel the car list available is too limited is to post what car we are going to use 48 hours before Mondays race. People would then have to go to the dealerships and buy it themselves (up to a certain value of say 150,000 credits). PP restrictions would dictate whether the car had to be used as it is or there could be a little allowance for some tuning.

Thats cool. Have 800+ cars now so good chance ill have it.
Or could just set PP -max HP and Min weight and let people use what cars they already have in there garage.

Selecting a car to buy will have to be a premium car as finding a certain model is very random if you have to use UCD.
Premium cars can be bought by all in the dealerships tho so that will work.
Or select a car from the current Online Dealership.

But yep, choosing the same car for all of us would be very difficult, but using some restriction would work.
 
It's not up to me obviously, but I originally set up this race night so anyone could turn up, have the same car and drive, making it a fair and fun race.

As Chris says there are only 50 cars to choose from so if this group keeps going we will run out of cars, as some are so similar we probably would want to try something different.

I am only suggesting, that in the future, to give us more choice we could have a 'gentlemans' agreement that instead of being restricted to the cars from the garage we can all bring the same...brand new cars...bought from the dealerships to race over the 2 nights.

There are plenty of race nights in this forum where selecting from a group of cars and tuning them to perfection is necessary to be competitive. I would prefer that everyone is competitive by simply having exactly the same car, but using the dealerships as a way of expanding our choice.

I'm guessing this is aimed more for Europeans, as 21h30 GMT is a little early for most North Americans who have to work during the day? :)

If the time were a little later, I would love to join in.
 
Not all the premium are eligible for online racing??
Then i get what DJ means, but it would be fine to use some standars too.

One of the things making this group so much fun is the fact that everybody is racing the same car. The possibilities of everybody tuning and modding and whatnot makes it less equal - and in my mind, taking a part of the fun out of the fun racers.

That is a shame, as we are always looking for nice people form all over the world to race with. The first race we had was at 10pm GMT which is getting late, especially for other areas of Europe where the time is 11pm. Join us on Sunday, both nights have the same fun feel to them, it's just we make the big race on Monday a bit of a focal point.

This is not really geared towards Europeans but it will suit Europeans more I guess. We have several friends from the US who join us on Sunday and/or Monday. It has always been difficult to 'game online' with people from across the pond, it's either too late or too early for one of the parties involved. You could always give up your job and dedicate your life to 'fun racing' :sly:

Think your prob right mate.(changed my mind) Stick with same cars. This is a great laugh. Plenty of other lobbys for serious stuff.:crazy:
