DTM Series Championship Season 1 Thread

Hope this works on everyones browser. Clicking on the icons should take you to that part of the DTM Group.

First race of DTM2 will be on Saturday the 14th of May.

All places for this season are take. If you still want to take part, then post in the group forum and if we get enough people then we will setup a 2nd series.

Also, check in at the rules section and post a message to say you have read them. There are a lot of new rules for season 2 and i want to make sure that everyone has read and understood them. If there is something you dont understand then just ask.

I'd like to run an Audi this season but something has to be done to make them competitive. The Mercedes is just too fast and always dominates the races under our current regulations.
 
Thats why we have changed to a min weight of 1100kg and a penalty weight system.
I would love to see 8 teams with 8 different cars, but i'd settle for 5. Anything better than the CLK/TT-R series we had last season.
 
I would PROPPER love to take part in this if the DTM were premium, but I don't play GT4 anymore. Hope it goes well !

...Sorry I have a huge problem with standard cars. Had to re-install windows due to GPU Driver corruption and am feeling a tad stressed out my friends lol, ignore my outburst. Although I'm clearly leaving it there to state my hatred haha...

Its really disappointing the DTMs are not premium but, it is more than made up for by the standard of the racing in this series.
I wish i could upload a video of the Euro Series @ Monza from season 1. Some of the overtaking and driving was fantastic.

^I went with real world circuits first. There is the option to offer another circuit.
Maybe go with Non-real circuits next season? Or for the SS?

The team draft has been cancelled. I dont think anyone really understood what i was trying to go for and i only got 1 list through (thanks Goruk).
Also, having done some tests (offline) i have found that the Alfa 155 is far to slow to be competitive. Other people have also tested the IS-F and the weight issue is also making it not competitive. I think if people were given these cars for their teams they would not be happy and not stay with the series.

So, the new team format is as follows..
5 teams of 3 drivers.
Mercedes CLK Team, Audi TT-R Team, Audi A4 Team, BMW M3 GTR Team, Any Opel/Vauxhall TC Team.
First come, first served.
State on this thread which car you want to use.
Then read the rules and regulations and post a message there.

With 15 spaces taken for drivers that leaves 1 space open for a pace car/race steward.
So, with that i would like to offer someone the chance to be the DTM2 official Pace Car/Race Steward.
Ideally the person will also act as race host so should have a good internet connection.
They will have to;
setup the race lobby,
start and end qualifying,
confirm everyones grid positions,
be the pace car during formation lap,
make notes during the race to ensure everyone uses the 3 tyre compounds in the pit windows,
make a note of race results,
save race replay for use in post race incidents.
Obviously quite a lot so, in return for fulfilling this task i will gift them a car worth more than 500,000cr for every race they do for the series.
Anyone interested then just post here, in the group or PM me.

Didn't know you could not vote or post. Votes will be added at end (might have to remind me) and added you to Team BMW.
 
Did some little testing and although I still think the CLK is the fastest car, even with an extra 100kg, I'll go for the BMW. Hope I can tune this car to match the CLK times.
 
OK Symp. I'll swap you since i really wanted to use my TT-R again. :)
The BMW was the fastest offline in my tests but i dont have the CLK to compare it to.
 
Did we already decide at what time the races will be held?
 
Saturday's
14:00 PDT, 17:00 EDT, 22:00 BST, 23:00 CET.
(Could maybe go back an hour)
Room open ~1 hour before. Qualifying ~ 30 mins before.

Same times as this Saturdays combined series race 11.

The CLK is still the fastest car for sure. I hate offine testing, its nothing like online. Why is there so much grip offline? PSN being down really messed with my car choice and that's why I hadn't sent you a list yet. I was hoping to get so testing in online. So if I hate my car online can I switch before the season starts?
 
If all the cars are taken then you will have to work out a swap with someone. If you dont like the BMW, and no one will swap with you, then i will swap you my TT-R. I dont really mind what car i get, i just want to race.

It finally let me vote JT. I guess I should become a premium member. Goruk that TT is awesome. EFJ, I'm pretty sure we're doing one league this season. Not a North American and European league or divisions. We're all gonna race together, someday. When Sony lets us. Am I the only one going crazy without my PSN? Its amazing how much you can miss just a couple hours a night racing with your online friends.
 
Yes this season is just one series, a combined, multi-continental DTM Series. Now with drivers from Europe, North America, South America and Australia.
Races will be Saturdays
14:00 NA Pasific
17:00 NA Eastern/Brazil
22:00 UK/Portugal
23:00 Central Europe
07:00 Melbourne
Room to open about 1 hour before race start.
Qualifying will start 30 minutes before race start.

As promised, here we have the table.

All cars have engine rebuild, full downforce, engine stage 3 (when available) and stage 2 turbo, since is the one who gives more torque and more pp.

Torque is in Kgm, and where you read "Wheight" you should read "Weight" measured in Kg.

Please feel free to comment if you have different values.
