Triumph Spitfire Series #2

Excellent photos once again!

One thing of note in the Eiger photos: Wipers are off!

Only just spotted this:

:lol::lol::lol:

Oh good heavens, I'm in tears!!!

I did the double-take thing. TOO FUNNY.

(Likely very few will understand that one.... considering my TOADY car.)

Ahh. Everyone knows that you can go faster if you have your wipers on!

You learn all sorts of things in the Fun Racers! haha.

Though I'm tending to believe the one about the headlights!!

Thanks!

Should it let me sort? Or is that considered editing or something?
Very new to this sort of thing, I admit.

Oh, and for anyone interested in competitive math comparisons, on the bottom of the OP, I include inter-series & inter-divisional Point Averages standings, & Accumulated Points standings.
(As bender2011 says, "wat3rm370n, you've somehow managed to turn gt5 into one of your math games". LOL)

I have updated the OP, to hopefully clarify things a bit better, such as the arrival time of participants, and the procedures that will take place to ensure a good race experience for all.

In particular, I've a more detailed description of how things need to work in order to maintain a time frame to accommodate everyone's potentially tight scheduling:

Please note:
Clear cache in GT5 before arriving. Suggest rebooting game and/or PS3 as well. Arrive promptly for the "Vision Check" which will take place before qualifying starts. Steps to solve the problem will be taken if the problem is discovered during the Vision Check period, before qualifying starts. If one is late, the Vision Check will take place for that person instead of qualifying. If the Vision Check is not successful for a late arrival, unfortunately it will not be possible for that driver to participate, in order to be fair to those who have already qualified, and need the races to start in order to finish within the allotted time frame.

Thanks.

Or maybe...

(runs and hides)

Did this Spitfire go thru scrutineering?

I think that race tech needs to re-check this green Spitfire.

With the cutting blade installed up-side down its creating vast quantities of suction like a Chaparral 2J and is probably skirting the Spitfire technical regulations about "No Aero" devices.

Now having a handle on a Spitfire is an excellent idea! I think that I will install one on my Spitfire to help extracate myself after all my inevitable trips into the sand traps at Laguna Seca.

Oh god. What have I started here?
As long as this thread doesn't become self-aware, we'll be ok.

Welcome lucakine! :) I have added you to the registry, and sent you procedure information in PM. This is a great car & a great group, so brace yourself for fun & more fun! :)

As you will see... as I clearly see... this group is comprised of many comedians!! :D

I think its the new body style of the Trabant.
:sly:

LOL

And just wait til you see the riding tractor I heard PD is going to introduce in an update of gt5. :sly:

haha. I will look into this non-regulation entry. ;)

And I agree, a handle on the Spitfire could come in useful... haha
But at least we're not on any tracks with boxes or piles of tires where you can get wedged into a chicane & stuck. (I'm thinking of this thread, which I thought was hilarious.)

I think it's too late. hahaha. There is already a ghost in a machine.
(Self-aware thread!)

Some stuff has come up and I dunno that I am going to make any of the future races. I'll keep you posted

Shouldn't this be renamed the triumph Spitfire photoshop challenge? & what about bonus points for best digitally enhanced photo? See u tonight & please... No roadkill!

What about the poetry competition? :)

Yes, I think I will make an award podium for the most bizarrely funny posts in this thread. LOL Perhaps we can have a points system to decide who's the biggest smarty pants. RDAardvark could probably programme a spreadsheet to collate & tally the results. :D hahaha
J/K
I should say I'm absolutely pleased that people I race with have such healthy senses of humour. :) You are all very fun!

And speaking of photos, we had a fun practice yesterday, & I watched one of the replays... So naturally I have photomodes. lol

jackargent / jackargent / raspberry red pearl
GTsail290 / gtsail290 / WR Blue Mica
watermelonpunch / wat3rm370n / salvia green

20110701spitfire01s.jpg

Here is GTsail290 in the lead... a swift force to be reckoned with on Mount TopMore!

20110701spitfire02s.jpg

Here is Jackargent mowing the grass, and he got a penalty for it. :ouch:
So that's another off-road corner one should be wary of during the race! :nervous:

20110701spitfire04s.jpg

And here we are, 3 wide on the s/f straight leading to Slow-Maker Turn.
I think it's interesting to point out that I (green) was passing Jackargent (raspberry),
and GTsail290 (blue) went 3 wide to pass me.
I panicked. And it did not end well for GTsail290 & I. LOL
And Jackargent won this practice race.

Lesson learned for me I think! 3-wide is funny & exciting... but rarely wise! haha.

Stupidly complicated spreadsheet of the results from all divisions can be found here.

Edit: Woo-hoo! My 200th post!
