Hi, I have a few questions about Project CARS. If there's anyone willing to answer them I'd be very thankful.

First of, how is this being made? I've gone through quite a few pages of this thread but I simply don't have the time to read through all 190. To me, it looks like you guys from the community are able to contribute by designing the tracks, including the weather and scenery? Also the cars which are going to be in the game as well as their liveries?

Second, the track list that's in the OP - why do the tracks have different names to their original names known throughout the world? For example, Circuit de la Sarthe is known as Loire 24. Is this down to licencing?

Third, do you know how the game will be structured relating to single player? Will there be a career to progress through and if so, what kind of championships will it include? If not, what is there?

Finally, what's Project CARS going to be like for multiplayer? How many different cars can be on track at once and what will the online format be like, you know, how is it presented and is there a lot more variety to how we structure races than in a game such as GT5? for example.

Just looking at the pictures some of you have posted, it already looks fantastic though. I'm a bit late to the PCARS party so I don't really understand what's going on, but it looks like a sure-buy for me already.

Thank you.

It is being made by a developer as usual but with direct and indirect input from us, the people who put money into it. We decide on major game decisions (Such as whether it was going to be "Free To Play" or a regular retail game), we give them direct feedback on various aspects and they work on it.

We also contribute things like liveries and at the moment there is a contest to design fictional LMP cars.

Basically, yes, licensing. Licensing usually happens very late for a multitude of reasons so they decided it was much better to include them right away with fictional names rather than waiting until they have the license.

Same goes with cars, a fair few have been introduced with fictional names and badges and have then been changed to the real name once a license is acquired.

Third, do you know how the game will be structured relating to single player? Will there be a career to progress through and if so, what kind of championships will it include? If not, what is there?

They are planning a full on racing career mode, yes. It won't be linear though, you can progress through it in the direction you want. So if you like single seaters you can progress mainly through those, if you want to progress towards Le Mans racers you can. It's obviously not final and finshed yet but they have big plans.

Finally, what's Project CARS going to be like for multiplayer? How many different cars can be on track at once and what will the online format be like, you know, how is it presented and is there a lot more variety to how we structure races than in a game such as GT5? for example.

For current gen consoles it'll be 16 cars, I don't believe next gen consoles have been confirmed. For PC I think the current limit is 64 cars. There will be lots of multiplayer options, much more than GT5.

Hi, I have a question about the Audi R18... I've read something about it won't be in the final game due to the high cost of the Audi's license.. Am I wrong? or Am I right?

In case of that.. what will happen with this beautiful car? Will them make a few visual changes in it?

Cheers

It's highly unlikely there will be an licensed Audi cars, no. The R18 is going to be modified into a similar but fictional LMP car, the same goes for the DTM car.

It is something every game goes through. Most games just delete the cars they can't licence but Pcars is going to replace it with a fictional LMP1 car. Actually I think they may be replacing it with 2.

Just awesome. Awesome.
Also chromatic how much you edit your pictures if you even edit them.

No editing. There taken with fraps as I play the game.

I use FXAA injector which could be classed as editing by some. It allows you to add more or less saturation in real time. It's really just a pc tool to adjust any game to your preferences.

Too awesome to be true. I am mindblown.

Wow, it sucks that I have to wait over another year to play it. GT6 will hold me through until then.

Speaking of PS4, will Project Cars be coming to it as well? Or is it this gen consoles only? (Excluding Wii U)

pCARS will initially be released for Windows, Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and the Wii U.

Releases for Playstation 4 and Xbox One will follow.

Have things with the FSA been solved yet? My PayPal balance is ready and waiting.

Yes they have.

They can't take any more money for the current project (pc, ps3, xb360) but they can open up a new project which will be for the same game but only affecting the next gen console versions. This will be done in shares however IIRC not toolpacks.

Ah. Well, that's a bummer. Was looking forward to further funding possibilities for the current project and joining the WMD forums.

You still will. It is related to the profits etc.

The money you will put in can only be used on the new project and you can only profit from xbone or ps4 sales and you wont get anything from ps3, xb360 or pc sales.

You will still have access to the forum and pc builds (as console builds are expensive) whilst it is in development if you invest in this new one.

I'm not looking for a profit but I suppose I might as well throw some money at the next-gen plans then, depending on how shares are going to work out.

Can someone please tell me where the option is for multi view or whatever its called. I cant find it anywhere and its driving me nuts. I know Ive seen it just cant remember where at. Thanks.

Thanks for the information Simon.

Also a big thank you to everyone else that's contributing to the game, it's great that they're allowing the community to help design features and rid the game of any bugs before its actually released. That's pretty cool of them. 👍

It's called camera set. I set mine to INS key, as it's just under my hand when playing with my X360 controller.

Ah yes, thank you so much. This was driving me nuts. I knew Id seen it before and used it.👍

Edit: No I mean where you can switch to triple screen. After the last update the view for 3 screens isnt set right. Eveything is stretched now. It wasnt really perfect before, but now its horrible. I cant find the option for it anywhere. In iracing its called "render 3 screens seperate" other games call it "multi-view".
