I'm shooting myself in the leg here, but I think you gave me 2 points too many for Le Mans. Points go 10-8-6-5-..., so I should get 12 for 3rd, not 14.

:dopey: , your right, this has a knock on effect as well below. My bad!

I've already leapfrogged Chris, just by appearing at Le Mans!

Bit off topic but there's a white Ford Mk IV racing at goodwood this weekend. Looks amazing!

That'd be J9 then. Was originally built as a G7A can-am car, but never raced. Has since been converted to MKIV spec. 👍

I just wish I could have gone today, hoping it will be out again tomorrow so I can get some pics. Thought that post would get a reply from you

It could also be J12, as that's white too, but I know that J9 was due to be at Goodwood.

Here's J9:

It is however just a replica. I would have much preferred the owner to keep it in G7A spec. :indiff:

In all honesty I have no idea, all they said was it's a Mk IV. It was number 9 though.

I've never been a fan of replicas, I much prefer cars to be kept in their original spec/form too.

Just googled the G7A. What a monster! Looks nothing like the MkIV so I'm guessing just the chassis were similar?

I'm almost certain it was J9 then. 👍

The G7A was built on leftover J-Car tubs (what the MKIV was built on), but that's pretty much where the similarities end. That's why J9 isn't technically a MKIV, it's just a G7A with a MKIV replica body on it.

Marunda, continuing the Ford discussion, I always wondered why in GT5 we only had one Mk IV - is it a case of each car being totally different in interior modelling (like NASCAR) to warrant a new car, or would it be as simple as just adding a new livery to the car?

Depends. J5 (the one in game) is pretty much identical to, its Shelby American counterpart, J6 (the yellow #2 car that finished 4th at Le Mans) apart from J5 had an orange, as apposed to blue on J6, pit light, a 'Gurney Bubble' in the roof and a lowered seat. Other than that it'd be pretty much a livery change.

The Holman Moody cars (J7 & 8) would take a bit more as they had brake ducts on the nose (Shelby blocked them off and took air from behind the radiator to avoid the extreme heat cycle caused by the long Hunaudieres and heavy braking into Mulsanne). The H&M cars also used Firestone tyres (Shelby used Goodyear), again had different coloured pit lights (not sure what colours) and also used clear perspex airboxes as opposed to the metal ones in the Shelby cars.

J4 (the Sebring car) would take a different model since the car is fairly different to the Le Mans cars.

So, it wouldn't really take much to integrate the different liveries, but I suppose PD just took the most significant (and best ;)) livery. 👍

I see where you're coming from, although it's a lovely car it's a shame it wasn't kept in G7A spec. That was a cool looking car.

Oh and Furi I won't be racing this weekend. Off to Goodwood tomorrow so I'll probably be back fairly late.

Possibility of grabbing third back off Lout.

EDIT: Just looked at the table so maybe not. I'd have to come second to overtake Lout. That's not going to happen.
