Yeah it seemed there were quite a few of em' keeping well within the limit, unlike some of the guys at the front!

I watched the whole race live on youtube and it got a bit of air time. Can't remember hearing it too clearly though :/

Not many opportunities you get to hear a MKIV going full pelt, so here's hoping anyway. :ill:

Oh, and to anyone that hasn't seen it yet, check out Kenny Brack's onboard of qualifying if you want to see some serious car control.

Not many opportunities to see one at all!

That video is great. I've watched it so many times now.

I love it when people aren't afraid to still push these cars to the edge. SO much better than having them sit in a show room!

Well there's only 6 originals. Which you'd probably never hear going for it. Then there are the 2 built on G7As and the 2 built on leftover tubs, which your much more likely to see going some.

Then there are the 6 Kenny Thompson built replicas, which are probably the most likely to be heard, but also the least authentic. So... :indiff:

Also, I'd like to make one comment about the pace lap speeds. There's really no need to enforce the different speeds for PT & GT classes for the whole pace lap. I'm glad Sagaris didn't follow it to the letter, because on a 6km circuit the speed difference means that at 50mph the PT field needs 4:30 to go around 1 lap, and the GT field needs a whopping 5:32.

Apart from the fact that this is already excruciatingly long, this means that the PT-field is already more than half around the track when the GT's start their race (Actually, in the case of Monza, the PT's would have been at Ascari in the first lap when the GT's start their race). This also means that after 2 laps the PT's start lapping the GT's, when both fields are still going tightly together.

I think that, if the goal is to leave a little bit of a gap to let the PT's get safely through the first corner, it's enough to enforce the different speeds at the grid formation point. You still get at least about 10 seconds difference, which is by far enough for safety, and it gives a little bit more time for the fields to sort themselves out before the lapping begins.

Just my opinion.
I didn't adhere to the speed limit the whole way for the same reasons you posted, not to let the PT's nearly lap us before we even start. Only around and after Parabolica did I strictly stick to the speed limit.

Furi, I also think the difference in speeds shouldn't be so drastic. Maybe have the different speeds (slower for GT) only in the last sector?

I don't see the point in any speed differences really, especially at the tracks we'll be at next. Just causes more confusion imo

.....And this. 👍

I believe this last race was my first since I joined WSC (S3) that I was able to finish without getting any damage...

And here's a photo of the whole "Hakkinen vs Schumacher, Spa 2000" overtake Chris (AKA Zonta) mentioned a few posts back...

I was actually leading GT at that point to the delight of the tifosi.

Also I've never completed a race without damage in this series. longest race for me without damage was the 1 hour Z06 endurance when me and Nel battled for the full hour and I won by around 4 tenths

I have done quite a few races with no damage longest from memory were in PURE CALM 2.4-3 hour long races :). I managed in Spa and Monza despite doing this at Spa...

Furi already seen this though :P. (Rest here.)

GT Speed limit. Agreed on speed difference only starting in final part of the track. 👍

Newest GT car to be demonstrated pre Pescara.

I'd just like to say that the racing line goes from one side to the other at several points at the Pescara track and PT drivers should not complain that GT drivers where moving all over the track as we are just following the racing line. So no ranting at us!

PT guys need to understand that different GT cars have different lines too, I doubt the corvette will go round the same way as the Alpine!

Heh, I laughed at you and Fox at le Mans in quali together in Porsche Curves. Corvette is understeering a little and struggling, and Alpine is nearly 4 wheel drifting

 Point proven! In other words one of us will end up in the outiside barrier, the other in the inside barrier hahaha

I may look at a potential return to the PT class after a 2 season absence but if that fails I'll stay in the GT category

PT moving to 2/2/2 next season. GT to 10 with 2 of each make allowed. Drivers will be asked end of this season based on ranking and standings there car choice (though I know at least 3 of you already).

Also the most lethal WSC GT car of all time will appear at Pescara just before GT Quali begins on a demonstration run, with view (subject to entries) of being run at Spa as a "Garage 56" entrant.

I'm looking forward to Pescara tomorrow. Either running a Ferrari or HMS Jaaaaaaaaaag.
