Some seems to struggle to get Gold at the All-star w/o a race car. There are also not to many tunes posted so I give it a go.

The ZR-1 RM performance is very close to the real race cars. It enabled me to win Gold at all races with a 2-5 second buffer, all aids off except ABS at 1. Exception is the Nordschleife where I do win Gold with it, but its so easy to crash in one of the many corners.

Strong points with this car/tune
- Easy to drive
- It accelerate great out of medium speed corners (best way to overtake race cars)
- When accelerating it holds its line and doesn't understeer out
- Great breaking and it turns when breaking without losing the rear (ABS at 1)
- High speed turns. You can overtake race cars on the outside

Just to give a hint of the performance. I'm a decent driver but no demon. In the second race I spun in the first thunnel, got into 5th place 6 sec behind the leader. At the end of lap 2 I was back in the lead and won the race with 4 sec.. In the 4th race on the "bridge circle" its about 1 sec faster than race cars.

Fully upgraded the ZR-1 RM gives 905hp att 1100Kg weight. My tune

Downforce: 35/53
Transm.: 360 km/h (380 at Nordschliefe)
Initial torque: 10
Acc sens: 20
Brake sens: 10
Ride h: 5/5 (35/35 at Nordschleife)
Spring: 16.6/14.4
Damp ext 9/7
Damp comp: 9/7
Anti RB: 3/5
Camber: 2/1.5
Toe: 0/-0.30
Brakes: 5/7

I play around with the rear breaks depending on track. Its good at 7 but if I want better turn in use 8, better stability a 6.

I also play around with rear springs. Its pretty balanced but if I want a bit more oversteer lowering the number seems to create overstear (opposite to what I expected)

Its by no means a perfect tune but its good enought to win Gold at All-Star. If someone has an idea to further improve it would be great.

Cheers

Sounds interesting.

Just out of question, how much would hte ZR-1 LM edition cost to buy?

The base model is 130,000 cr, right? What about the racing mod kit?

Thanks Sail. I was able to win the Trial Mountain event by 1.8s over the Sauber with your tune on the first try!

The interesting thing is my ZR-1 RM fully modded tops out at 863HP/802TQ as opposed to yours which tops at 905HP. The ZR-1 was the first "real car" I bought and I fully modded it and drove it maybe 200 miles before I even knew about the race mod option. I did change the oil before I drove it the first time when I first bought the car and also changed the oil after the race mod. I did go in and add back all the upgrades that were removed during the upgrade and even double checked everything.

Hmmm... Maybe I'll try rebuilding the engine in GT Auto even though I only have 250 miles on the car now.

I guess me still winning easily despite being down 70HP says alot about your tune. Thanks again!

I used soft racing tires BTW.

yeah i have a fully modded zr-1 with rm ant it tops out at like 883hp. ??? thats weird. how'd you get 905. i did a oil change and everything. thanks for your tune by the way. havent tried it yet but i was lookin for one.

Update: It won't allow me to rebuild the motor. It says "This car's engine is in good condition and does not need to be overhauled yet".

Stranger still, it WILL allow me to overhaul the chassis for a mere $192,500!

$192 Grand you say my good man? After only 250 miles huh?

Hmm... Let me think... UmmAhhhh.....

NO THANKS!!!!!!!!!! ;-)

update!!! my hp went from 889 to 896 just by racing. that is strange but ill take it. it went up from 889 to 890 then to 894 and now to 896 wow!

I just read in another thread about how as the car breaks in, the horsepower will rise over time. Just like in real life!

Sony/Polyphony can get details like this in there but you can't save and recall tuning settings for each track. :banghead:

That certainly explains why my 250 mile car is low on HP however...

EDIT: You guys beat me to it! Daytona oval here I come!!!

After using a maxed out BMW M5, Mine`s Skyline and McLaren MP4 without any success i gave this ZR-1 a go.
It`s the first time i can compete in the All Star Series allthough i screwed Nürburgring as 12th, Cape Ring 6th, Tokyo R246 7th place.
At least i managed to take gold at the first two races, it`s pretty easy once you are in the lead.
But i find it hard to overtake cars with a joypad in this serie and i lose often grip by accelarting out of tight corners.

It`s a shame so few cars are allowed to have frontwings, in my opinion it`s a too important part.

Should i buy the upgrade for 20k to make the car more stiff? The car and setup is amazing, but it need few adjustments for my prefered drivingstyle and joypad controls.

Is this really the only car that can compete? I've been able to hold second but the car in first pulls and pulls and so I quit, because I want first. I don't want to RM my current zr1, so I'd have to buy another and RM it, then get tires and the other performance upgrades. So it's be quite expensive.

What car do you win for first in the all star race?

Yes i would say you can`t compete with any car without frontwings. The racecars accelerate like crazy out of corners. You need a car with strong downforce. Otherwise you can`t keep up with them.

You should try to adjust your gearbox for more acceleration. 360km/h is a bit to slow for first two races in my opinion. I changed it to about 320km/h you won`t get faster than 280km/h anyway. The rearwing is set to 60 in my config.

Man that Judd race car is fast. I bought a ZR1 RM'd it and then took it out there, got passed by him on the 4th lap and then ended up pushing it so hard I wrecked ended up with 4th place.

Then I used that tune from the OP and just won. It lowered my track times 2 seconds and on my best lap 3.

Good thing I saw this thread before experimenting with a few cars in order to beat the all stars. I ended up 2nd overall (screwing up in some tracks) ... Thanks for the tip threadstarter!

Spent almost an hour in the championship only to end up it in third. It was something where I was in second on the second to last race, and only down 25 pts so if I got first I would've taken the whole thing.

Well ended up pushing it too hard and came out with 4th in the last race and 3rd overall...

Maybe I'll try again later, it's just so intimidating seeing those race cars take turns that I have to slow down on and they flat move out.

I had my second attempt with a Minolta Race Car i have won from "Like the Wind!" It gets pretty easy with this car, I didn`t even bother to drive fast :D

But i lost my concentration on some last rounds *lol* Now i have silver at least and i am confident i can win this event now.

I wonder if this ZR-1 setup fits my BMW M5... *testing*

Great tune, but I've had alot of trouble with the oversteer on acceleration. I gotta be gentle with the throttle, anyone else have similar problems>?

Its not an oversteer problem but if you put 900hp on a 1100kg car and slam the throttle, the rear wheels will spin madly.

I'm no expert driver, but the key is to apply the throttle gently. If you start well before the exit and do this, the car will take a tighter line out the corner. I think this is one of the most important technics to learn to fast driving.

I think the most important tune factor for exit corner performance is the LSD and the acceleration tune. A higher number will give you better traction but when traction is lost the car spins. If you set it to a lower number that car will be more forgiving but you will lose traction. Excess power will be transfered to one wheel which spins, but the car doesn't spin around that easy.

I usually tune down this parameter from 40 (default) to 20. Makes acceleration slower but the car will be easier to drive.

Hi,

First post.

Thanks Sail. Finally got his done last night. Some white knuckle racing with handheld controller. :scared: Very rewarding to get this done with ZR1 RM. Final results: 1,1,6,1,2. Wiped out at Nur.N. while leading and side by side in last high speed turn. :ouch:

I find having the rear ride height 3 to 4 mm higher than the front to help for some reason. Might just be better suited to my driving style.

Cheers, Bez

Lol...well it worked for me. My problem was way too much Wheel spin out of turns, found by your tune that I was adjusting the LSD backwards. Regardless, good tune! Went from one gold to all golds in no time.

I parked my ZR-1 GM for a while after it has won me those difficult A-Spec Races. Now i have taken it back to the tracks again just for my own entertainment!

And i have to say again this setup is f§$ing amaaaaaazing. It does everything, and its a hell of a ride pushing this car to its limit but the reward is gorgeous!

I made some few small adjustments to my preferences and pulled off a 0:55,078 on Grand Valley East with this setup!

The race is considerably easier when competing with a car in the same class, as such I have opted for a Audi R10 TDI with maxed settings.

Slicks are a must, otherwise the car will constantly snap steer due to the massive tower of torque from the diesel plant.

Cheers
