Anyone picking this up tomorrow? It has a single player campaign and co-op campaign. If you get the PS3 version it comes with a PC version for free. I am still concerned about the length of the game so I will probably just rent it.

Might have to wait until payday but yeah I've been waiting for this for a long time. Does the PC version have co-op as well?

They all have co-op. In fact the PC players can play co-op with PS3 players.

360 players are not so lucky.

I'm planning on buying it. I'm rushing through the first Portal as we speak, trying to beat it (I never did before, but I think I've got it figured out). I've yet to decide which way I'm going to get it. Although the PS3 version has the PC one come with it, ultimately, I don't know if I'd like playing it on the PS3.

My guess is that I'll get it on the PC, with the free copy of the original Portal, and give it to my friend. The first game was fantastic, if a bit short, and I imagine this will be much the same.

All of which reminds me... I need to finish HL2...

I don't see how anyone could play Portal on a console, to be honest. Stupid sticks would be far to clunky for some of the crazier aerial maneuvers.

I'll probably just download it over Steam because, well, it is cheaper that way and I'm lazy.

Not to mention that PS3 players (with a Steam account) will be able to play with PC players. That's awesome.

I too loved the first game and plan on getting it. :)

I hope Portal 2 will be good. I liked Portal 1 but the problem with Portal 1 for me was that i felt i was playing a bunch of tech demos with a story slapped onto it.

Pre-loaded it a few days ago :) My monthly data cap took a big hit (Portal 2 was around 7GB to download), but it'll be worth it.

Absolutely no plain-text spoilers please people, make sure you use spoiler tags.

The PS3 version comes with a free PC version? 🤬! I didn't know that!

Well, anyway, I got it now and I just want to let everyone know that decrypting the files takes FOREVER. Steam must've put some hardcore locks on this thing.

Yeah, decrypting may appear to stall at 32% - leave it for a few minutes and it'll jump right to the end and start downloading a 60MB update.

Default mouse sensitivity is mega-low, btw - you probably want to change that before anything else.

Will likely pick this up tomorrow on PS3, I'll post impressions and whatnot. Not a big fan of forcing websites to wait until release day to post reviews...

I came downstairs around 12AM EST to see if it was finished downloading, turns out my computer went into sleep mode, and now I'm hovering around 45%. Damn, damn, damn! Now that I hear about the terrible decryption and so on, I've basically settled on going to bed and playing it tomorrow morning.

Decryption isn't terrible, it just takes a while - and given there's nearly 10GB of game files that's to be expected. Should take ten minutes at most to complete.

Ok, you know this 'buy the PS3 version and get the PC version free' jazz. Well could I sell the key for the Steam version to a mate if I bought the PS3 version? Or could I sell the PS3 version whilst still being able to play it on the PC?

So I'm stuck on the part with the water fountain raining down. Basically, the first zone that you experience gel-erasing water globules. I'm just there bouncing forever trying to figure out how to get across. It's quite annoying.

Amazing game so far though. It's mega lols.

The humor is absolutely fantastic in this game, I cannot speak highly enough of it. I'm just barely into chapter two, and can't wait to get my school/work day over so I can dig a bit further.

I'm doing my best to avoid spoilers, and so far, it is working out well. I can't wait to get close to the end of the game. I had a lot of herrr derrr moments with some of the puzzles, but it is fun and challenging.

Went through co-op with a mate, we started at around 11pm and we finished around 15 minutes ago... it's now 4:30am

Haven't finished single-player yet though (currently midway through chapter 7). Really enjoying it, the new gameplay mechanics are interesting and well-implemented, and the humour is typical Portal -there was one particular point that had me in stitches, it was glorious.

FINALLY a clear answer to the length of this game. So the co-op campaign is about 5-6 hours long?
Hmm so the single player is probably about 6-8 hours long.
Heather rented 2 copies for the 360 so we will be starting the co-op campaign tonight.

I played single player from launch until 5:30am and it seems like I have a long way to go.

Thats good news. I heard it was only about 2x the length of the first one and I beat the first one in about 2 hours without looking anything up and without rushing at all. So I was nervous it would only be around 4 hours long.

I'm stuck on Chapter 6 - The Fall. The part where Cave Johnson announces himself. >:[ I dunno what to do in this bigass room.

Aaaannnd after a quick Google, the answer was completely obvious.

Yep, I just finished single-player and Steam is reporting that I have 13 hours played. I know no more than six is from when I was doing co-op - so a ballpark figure for single-player would be around 6-8 hours.

I finished single player playing only that and it took me 8 hours.

Single player in about 5 and a half hours, including getting stuck on something because I didn't see part of the puzzle that was right in front of me.

Will probably start Co-op later today, and then recheck some of the puzzles and maybe do some speed running.

Very enjoyable though, the new mechanics and environments are quite nice.

EDIT: That comparison of the PS3 to XBOX360 has the XBOX looking like crap. The textures are clearly worse on the 360. Of course, neither seem to really compare to the PC so whateva

I've been taking my time, enjoying myself while playing it. I'm somewhere in chapter four, on a puzzle that is giving me sound trouble. I'll figure it out. I absolutely love the humor in the game, Stephen Merchant is awesome as the little blue robot ball thingy. And the banter with GLaDOS is classic.
