Main thread is here

After accomplishing great success with the first season of GATE we are back for a second, only this time we will be accepting sign-ups from anyone.
Anyone will be allowed to "audition" but only those we approve of can race.

If you would like to race with an established group of dedicated racers using pit strategy and lap after lap of intense racing, then you have come to the right place.

We will be following up on last season's success with yet another super exciting and quality GT300 series.

As work is also underway with JGTS 3, we'd like to revisit GT300 with a more unique approach. More realistic and catering to our constant pursuit of evolving our nature of competition and to better carry the spirit of GT300 racing in Gran Turismo 5.

Vital statistics -

Public lobby online.

One weekend, one race only . Spec tires only; sports soft. Races will be an hour long, 150km.

Cross staggered double-file rolling starts.

Live-week long qualifying, one outlap, three timed laps, one chance.

Car selection will follow the same process as JGTS 1 and 2. We will allow all registered drivers to select their most wanted vehicles in the pre-season. We will use this list of "favorites" in order to place drivers in appropriate and even teams to make for a more exciting team championship fight.

Hey guys. I'd like to sign up

No problem Cam, anyone who raced in GATE or JGTS 2 are free to sign up, anyone who is new to us can also sign up, they will just need to run a few laps with us to show that they are clean.
You can also recommend people who you have raced with before who you know to be clean and commited. 👍

I might be interested. Will the MR-S SuperAutobacs be available?

Dom (CSLACR) and Johan (johnkiller2) are helping with the car specs. As things stand we will be keeping the following cars from last season;
Toyota Wedssport Celica '03
RE Amemiya RX7 '06
Autobacs Arta Garaiya '08
Lexus Wedsport IS350 '08
Cusco Subaru Advan Impreza '03

Testing is under way to see which cars we will be adding.
you can see more in the series planning section at PURE, Jason. You are more than welcome to come and join in.

@Koleen Car selection isnt available just yet. once we have the specs finalised, we will be running a pre-season race, then you will be asked for your car preference.
Thanks for expressing an interest, we will arrange a testing/trial sesion soon. 👍

Hi Slatz,
In gt5, the gt300 cars have unrealistic levels of downforce and power, to a certain extent.
What we are looking to do ,is create a series as realistic as possible. Of course first and foremost the cars must be equal in terms of performance. We are currently working on the specs, it's looking like we will be running low or minimum downforce and Sports soft tyre's.

Now the interesting part.
In real life GT300 has always had a wide variety of cars from different backgrounds. By running the lower levels of downforce, we can add some new cars to the series in the way that the series should have. You would often see cars running in GT300 that were very similar to the road running model. We are now looking which cars we can add in the spirit of Super GT.

@Karangiosis welcome.

Most likely yes, it was in WSGTC season 2, then removed for GATE due to having worse handling than it's counterparts. New 2.09 physics and different regs are almost certain to put it back in the lineup. 👍

Alright. I'll be testing several cars, but that one is at the top of my list. I think I'll enjoy these more than GT500 since they are obviously slower and sport softs is nice. 👍

I'm in it to win it :-P

But reconsider tyre specs
R1 would be more realistic i think...

Try it, any premium GT300 car with minimum downforce and S3s, feels quite realistic to us.

We already ran R1s in the first season. It's fun, but makes for a little bit too much "point and shoot" style driving, made the racing cartoony at some points.

Yes! I ran some laps tonight in the MRS, minimum downforce on S3's and default suspension settings on Zero Toe and it was fantastic!

Hopefully we can get that car approved, because I call dibs. :dopey:

Whole lot of fun, I'm sure the MR-S can cut it. The way Dave wants to spec it out now really opens up car selection 👍

i can help for specs during holidays.
And i'll be there for this series, for sure ;)
Sport softs is all i wanted :)

Kolden,
Thanks for the sign up. Stay tuned to the thread and during pre-season once the specs are finalised, all drivers will be asked for their choice of car. During the testing stage we will be opening online rooms for testing and for new drivers to come say hi and run a few races.
Most things are covered in the op but if there is anything that you aren't sure about, don't hesitate to ask.
See you on the track soon 👍

Sports softs on GT300 cars huh? Sounds more fun than realistic, but that's just my stupid opinion. I'd be interested in this if there's room.
