Turnaround race?

Had a great run with @Mamaghi and @Aaroh44 in the thirsty V12 Astons, would highly recommend. Also making my debut in @Sick Cylinder event on Sunday, I'm a wee bit scared lol
Yes it was great fun, specs are spot on. By the way bb, that's my other unused account that I want to delete. My current one is @Aaroh007

Was really fun, thx to you guys.
Still 7 open spaces, the link is in my signature if anyone would like to join.
Cheers

I'm not sure if I can interest anyone but @Sick Cylinder 's got a new race series starting very soon. As usual there's an interesting choice of cars which makes Sick's series a bit different.

I've raced with all the regular guys for a few years and they are a great bunch of clean and friendly racing enthusiasts. But like most series are always trying to attract new drivers.

So click on the link below and go and take a look. You might like what you see... :)

For some reason I stopped getting notifications for this club, and for some reason thought that it had stopped. I will be back racing as soon as possible!
Well it has stopped as long as the Toyota championship is still running. :)
The BMW Z8 Club will probably return but it will be completely revamped/redesigned and
go in a different direction, likely under a new name.

It was a great run between ~ September-March with forty some pages worth of exclusively Z8-related
racing. For a Club focusing only on one model I'd say the end result came out much better than expected.
Thank you everyone for participating. And good luck in the Cobra shootout. 👍

what is the Z8 club all about anyway?
The Z8 Club is all about me and @IfAndOr going wheel to wheel at 150mph,
fighting over seventh place at Apricot Hill. :)

Remember that, Paul?

if you are going to continue with it
Not sure what to do at the moment, but if I should continue with a Club the Z8 would be involved
in some way or another.

I think GT6 is running down like an old pocket watch.
The time left that it will be online is winding down in a kind of
spiral that is going faster and faster.
I suppose we'll wind down with it, we that remain until the end
before GT7 arrives.
I wouldn't be surprised if we have more time remaining than you think. Sure, a lot of people have have just moved over to PCars. I think we might see fewer clubs in total but there still could be people joining that were previously unknown to us. Looking at the GT6 General Questions forum shows that there are still new players coming to the game.
As far as I know, there hasn't been any official word on when GT7 will be released. I'll get excited about that when the time comes, assuming it doesn't look like it won't be very good. There doesn't seem to be any reason to shut down the GT6 online service until at least after GT7 takes off.
The course maker is still promised too. (Much speculation as to its nature & its lack of appearance so far.....)

I can see this Club carry over to Gran Turismo 7 when the time comes
because it's a very simple premise. We'll race any car on the comfort compounds.
👍

Four GTPlanet members have inspired me and gotten me interested in the
comfort compounds thanks to their love for this rubber:
@gkgamer, @Zolon32, @Dustybin and @Cu3e
While that was happening to you, it has also been starting to happen to me. I love all the different compounds in the game for the different feel they give. I haven't used wet weather yet as much as I would like to. 10% weather at the Nordschleife, or anywhere probably, is quite nice to drive in.

I'll be looking to join you when I can.

Realistic settings.
For today by realistic I mean boost off, real slipstream, real grip, only ABS etc.
Damage will be light though and pit stops are not mandatory.

This has always been a public club and will continue to be one,
occasionally we might cross paths with a troll who isn't driving fair,
or drives the wrong way (yes that happened in the Cappuccino Club once),
or tries to start a race with another car than agreed upon.
These guys will be kicked if they choose not to listen. :dopey:

Here's an interesting thread I found with lots of talk about the different
compounds in the game. Tyres permanently screeching (comforts).

I also had Frankenstein in mind when I typed that. :)

I haven't used wet weather yet as much as I would like to.
Look no further than @gkgamer
He is the master when it comes to weather manipulation and is able to create
typical real-life Nordschleife / Spa conditions. I still haven't learned quite how he does it.

Any car?

Interesting concept.
Yes :)
I believe any car can be driven on Comforts with a proper set-up. Even the faster ones
with some power limitation.

I had the opportunity to practice with Dustybin at Ascari last month. He was preparing
for a race with a grid consisting of all Red Bull 2014's with Comfort Soft tyres. :)
It was difficult but not impossible.

The idea of this club is to pose a challenge on the lesser tyres.

We won't only do one-make races in the Club, there can also be races where you bring let's
say any FR VW or BMW on 480pp, or any FF on 430pp. The possibilities are many.

Like today for instance, both the MiTo and M3 feels pretty good on Hard and Soft respectively.
Just need to remember the grip isn't like Sport or Racing tyres.

Here is one for the box:
The first one. :) Great stuff.

Greetings gents. Thanks for the heads up on this Jocke, I had reached the stage where I thought there was no hope of getting any substantial amount of racing on comforts.

A couple of motors that always put a grin on my face on C/S are the GSX-R and NSX R 02, both stock. You feel like you're directly plugged into the car with them, the steering feel is incredible.

The Art Morrison Corvette is a cracker (for a person who is experienced on comfort tyres) too. On that note, I would like to suggest, for the first few meetings, avoiding going for cars with a lot of grunt. They might put people, who would otherwise quite fancy the concept, off. I did an endurance race at Silverstone, a long time ago, using a variety of moderately powerful supercars on C/S. The race went really well, with lots of enthusiasm from the competitors. "Brilliant!" thought I, I'll rack it up a bit. Out came the Aventador and, although its drive system makes it a fantastic car on C/S, no one turned up. Lesson learned.

I'm looking forward to next Tuesday!

Sorry, hadn't read 'suggestions' post.

***** Edit, what was I thinking!? C/M tyres are definitely the correct choice for this car, stock. Sorry.****

Sorry for joining late yesterday.
aside from the several troll drivers doing reverse or going for takedowns on the people they can't follow, the last race (the only I could enter) was good fun.
I'd like to submit one idea to the bunch regarding race suggestions.
I understand that most of you are really keen on racing cars with no tuning allowed but maybe we could alternate on a week to week basis between stock car racing and tuned car racing.
I have noticed there is a notable difference in the probability of getting trolled by a random guest whether tuning is allowed or not. It seems to me that the ones willing to disturb races are often too lazy to set cars and therefore look for the lobbies where tuning is forbidden. You can always spot the dodgy guys when PP racing when their entries are not complying to the race specs.
Also, I am a controller user most of the time when I race with you and I think the advantage of using a wheel is even more blatant when racing stock cars.
As for suggestions now:

*Car: Subaru BRZ / Toyota FT-86 / Scion FR-S
*Comfort HARD
*All parts allowed
*Power Limiter 50-100
*PP Limit 500
*BHP Limit None
*Ballast / Weight No limit
*Drivetrain FR

*Car: Any Impreza or Evo
*Comfort MEDIUM
*All parts allowed
*Power Limiter 50-100%
*PP Limit 550
*BHP Limit none
*Ballast / Weight none
*Drivetrain 4WD

*Car: Any Nissan Silvia S13
*Comfort Soft
*All parts allowed w/NOs
*Power Limiter
*PP Limit 430
*BHP Limit none
*Ballast / Weight none
*Drivetrain FR
