Did you get a chance to watch the replay dolph?
Our bump at the end of Conrad straight into the chase is definitely what caused you to go into the grass. I tried to stay right and went over the curb on the right which moved me a little left, while you were trying to come around the outside to get momentum and plan for the overtake at the sharp left hander under braking.
Not sure how far left i went, or even if i crossed half way across the track, but you were close on that side and hence we bumped, sending you off.
I'm not sure what the general right of way is at that kink. And on the final lap to boot. My initial impression was we were both battling hard for the spot and noone was willing to give in
. A tough racing incident that happened to go my way.
I don't think the real race cars try to pass in that spot
But it can be done. I think if i hug that curb a little closer or you stayed a little more to the left side of the track, that you would have had me in the next corner. My right front tire was shot and yours were ok, so you would have had me under braking easily. Good race.
P.S. Sent you a pm regarding early lap incidents we may want the stewards to look at, just to ensure we're all on the same page going forward to make turtle the best, cleanest racing we can. 👍
