There was some discussion after the brands hatch race about the proper etiquette and procedures when being lapped. Although i dont entirely agree with this 100% when on a short track and in a battle for position yourself with other drivers, but this is what the GTP OLR says:

Drivers that are about to get lapped have to make sure not to interfere with the lapping cars. Slow down on the straights on either side of the track or maintain the outside line during cornering. If for whatever reason you happen to be on the inside line when being overtaken, stay on the inside line until all drivers that were about to lap you have passed. You are not allowed to deliberately block the lapping cars.

Hey Mican..... I know your last post is most likely directed at me. I do apologize to anyone whom I may have unintentionally "blocked". I was trying my best to pull aside when I see the guys faster then me coming up behind me, but then had someone else (on this forum, none the less)tell me that I should keep my speed and line, and that the faster guys would find a way around me...... so; that was what I was trying to do. A little confused.... first week; I was slowing down and pulling myself out of the racing line to let those lapping me room to get by, and was corrected for that; so try to do what I was told, and feel as if that just made matters worse.

Going to miss FLEX this week. Should be my last busy weekend for a while... but at least I'll be spending Friday night at the casino for my birthday

Is it bad that I'm more excited to finally be done with all the craziness and get back to my regular anti-social schedule than I am about my own birthday? :odd:

No, it wasnt directed at you. We had a discussion about Johnsom and Bionic i think it was. Johnson was battling with someone and after the race Bionic complained that he should have gotten out of his way as he was being lapped .

The key thing about being lapped we tried to explain to You Diggs was not to make sudden movements left/right, braking suddenly and dramatically as we are coming up behind to pass you.
Have faith that the lapping cars drivers are already working out a plan to pass and get around you if you are off pace. The most common accidents occur when the lapping car moves to go around the slower car and then suddenly and unexpectedly without warning the slower car make sudden movements in the same direction trying to get out of the way. While the intent is appreciated, it causes unintended results.

Hopefully that makes sense to you Diggs. Just drive in a predictable manner when being lapped, so the trailing cars can work out their plan 👍
Your situation is a little different than Johnsom's. He wasn't much off pace and was simply holding his lines and battling in his own race for position with others. Bionic just expected him to concede to the blue flags is all and move over for him.

I didnt watch the replay, i was just discussing it after the race. You know, because i'm opinionated...:mischievous:

Happy Birthday.

I'll try to post the number of laps for the races this weekend soon after testing. Shouldn't be too hard to guess, considering how long the track is. If I had to guess, probably in the neighborhood of 4 or so laps.

Edit: My initial post was incorrect if you saw it before the edit. :dunce: Fixed now.

Racing softs for the 2013 DeltaWing and Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3 N24 Schulze Motorsport '13. Sports softs for the Nissan GT-R Black Edition '12.

I have a few pics from the Silverstone Red Bull race this past friday. I will try to post them tonight. :)
Would love to see them. 👍

Sorry I've been pretty busy this past week guys. I plan to post the results from Friday's races tonight. Then (if my medication doesn't put me into a drowsy state leading to an unintentional nap ) I'll be testing the cars so I can post the exact number of laps we will be racing.

By the way, has anyone done the Nurb time trial in the Mercedes Vision GT car (for Enduro)? That's something I still would like to do this week before the deadline Friday too. I'm pretty exhausted already this week and it's only Wednesday night. Luckily, I can catch up on some sleep tomorrow because I have the day off. :dopey:

Turtle Racing League - Race Night Recap

There was lots of action on (and off!) the track Friday night in the FLEX Series with the Junior Red Bulls. Race 1 at Silverstone saw a back and forth battle between many drivers (unfortunately Severn got a loading screen and never had the chance to qualify, but he said the racing was very exciting). RacingOtaku86 was leading on the final lap, when coming to the final corner before the long back straight, he slid off course. DolphDrago, running closely behind, must have forgotten he was playing Gran Turismo and not Lemmings, and followed Racing right off the track. Unfortunately for Racing, his off course excursion saw him get loose and into the grass, and he watched helplessly as Dolph (slowly) passed him on the long straightaway, as he had managed to avoid mowing the lawn. Racing tried hard to track Dolph back down, but was unable get back by, giving Dolph the win and Racing a frustrating 2nd place finish. BigMoMo101 ran strong all race and had a front row view of the carnage ahead, but was too far back to capitalize and gain a position. However, he only finished a few seconds behind the leaders to achieve a solid bronze finish. micantony and gr8racrs, who was the pole sitter, ran well and finished 4th and 5th respectively, about 1 second apart. Most of the rest drivers had an off at some point in the race, but continued on to finish the race. turnupdaheat, GTMX-HECTO1, and BionicDerp took the 6th, 7th, and 8th positions. johnsom and euclid58 found themselves in a close race at the end, with johnsom nudging euclid by a tiny bit over a second, with the duo finishing 9th and 10th. Rounding out the field in 11th position was newcomer Diggs392, who admitted he could use some more practice. To his credit, he did post a final time.

Race 2 at Suzuka again saw some fantastic racing, along with some frustration due to heavy damage. Roughly half the field suffered damage at some point and had to limp home to the finish, while others chose to pit, losing time, but having a fresh car at the end. And by the way, when I say there was fantastic racing, I mean fantastic racing for the top 4-5 positions and a FANTASTIC finish for 1st! Hector held off gr8racrs by a mere 0.117 seconds to take the checkered flag. Racing held off a strong charge by Bionic to finish less than 1 second ahead of him for the final podium spot, with Bionic settling for a still solid 4th. turnupdaheat may have had some off track or damage issues, and rounded out the top 5. Dolph saw himself slide off into the sand and nailing the wall hard, back first, leading to severe engine damage. He would make a pitstop and come home 6th. johnsom, euclid, mic, and Severn all had issues at least one point in the race, but never gave up, and found themselves 7th through 10th, respectively. Diggs was still coming to grips with his car and finished 11th. BigMoMo and bubbles each posted a DNF, likely due to connection issues.

Just as the race concluded, euclid found himself suddenly bouncing around and shaking quite a bit. And it wasn’t because of his finish. No, he found himself in a 5.3 magnitude earthquake! Yikes! It was a strong one, as Hector even got a jolt from his house due to the quake. Luckily, there were no injuries and only minor damage. And neither driver even got disconnected during the ordeal. (And yet we find ourselves still getting disconnected in normal, non-ground-shaking scenarios for no apparent reason. Thanks, PD!) Needless to say, there was a bit of a delay before the start of race 3 (Dolph managed to get disconnected on a fine non-earthquake evening as well). Due to this, the race changed venues to the Brands Hatch Indy Circuit and shortened to 20 laps. When everyone was ready, the race was on!

So race 3 saw Bionic score a stellar, dominating win over the field. Racing had a close encounter on the final lap, allowing Dolph (who had pulled over at the start because he was not in the correct position after rejoining the room) to catch him halfway around the track. But he held on this time, finishing with a silver place finish while Dolph scored the bronze. With such a small track, passing was not easy, and traffic was a factor throughout the race. mic and Hector finished a few second apart, in 4th and 5th, while johnsom, euclid, and gr8racrs finished less than 2 seconds apart between each driver, taking 6th through 8th places. bubbles cruised around his final lap, leading to a 9th place finish. And once again, Diggs rounded out the field, as only 10 Turtles started the race. turnupdaheat, BigMoMo, and Severn did not start.

Congrats go out to Racing, while not getting a win, managed to finish on the podium in all 3 races, earning him gold overall in the final standings for the week. Dolph took silver with a win and two podiums. Bionic and Hector each finished with identical points in the total rundown. Bionic took the tiebreaker and final podium spot by running a faster lap in 2 of the 3 races run. gr8racrs took the pole and finshed 5th overall in the standings, with mic, johnsom, euclid, and turnupdaheat taking 6th through 9th in the standings. The battle for the final top 10 spot was up for grabs between BigMoMo and Diggs. BigMoMo got the 10th spot by virtue of having a faster lap in both of the races the two drivers ran together. Rounding out the standings were bubbles and Severn, both of which had connection issues.

So again, congrats to Racing on the overall standings win! And congrats to all the individual race winners!

Edit: Bear with me here! I forgot to change fast lap times and seconds behind the leader for race 3. Working on it now.
Edit 2: I think it's fixed now.

Will I repeat this week? Heck no. The Nurb is not one of my fastest courses, dry or wet, so a repeat is not happening. Next week, though... except for Nurb, anything can happen. By the way, nice title for the event; it's kinda humbling to see my name there.

It might be, but until then, you're better off assuming it's going to be anyone's race to get. I'm not going to do well in the Nurb race, though.
I'm the opposite. I'm not that great at rally racing, but I've got the Nurb down pretty well. I just need to make sure I consistently stay on the track.

Hey, remember the last times we rally raced? Especially that time at Chamonix with the WRC cars? Or even the R34 Skyline?

Schedule for tomorrow:

Race 8: April 4th, 2014 - 3 30 Minute Races - The Return Of The Nurb!

Round 1

Track:
Nurburgring Nordschleife
Car: 2013 DeltaWing
Laps:
4
Tires: Racing Softs
Damage: Light
Fuel/Tire Wear: Normal
Round 2

Track:
Nurburgring 24 Hour Track
Car: Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3 N24 Schulze Motorsport '13
Laps: 4
Tires: Racing Softs
Damage: Heavy
Fuel/Tire Wear: Normal
Round 3

Track:
Nurburgring Type V
Car: Nissan GTR Black Edition
Laps: 3
Tires: Sports Softs
Damage: Light
Fuel/Tire Wear: Fast

The DeltaWing is VERY finicky if you haven't driven it before. I think with a lot more practice and no mistakes, that race could be 5 laps (slightly over 30 minutes). But we're going with 4, because even though it'll be under 30 minutes, I have a feeling there will be lots of spins, meaning slower lap times.

The GT-R GT3 Race Car can catch you off guard as it has some oversteer. It will be a 4 lapper (definitely over 30 minutes) to make up for the other two shorter races.

Notice for race 3, the fuel and tire wear will be set to FAST as we will be running sports tires. And beware, because the car will eat up the tires, especially the fronts.

Don't know. Reds can pitch, but can't hit to save their lives. I know the mets aren't exactly scary this year though.

Also, I plan to open up the room for the races tonight probably a little after 9.

I'm debating whether or not to race tonight. I'm not burning out or anything, but rather a small break from racing. I'll be back for next week, though.

I'll try to make the first race if I could get enough money to buy the car. If not I will join the second.
