that was a good battle for the first 12 laps or so for 2nd-5th or so, while Dolph drove away early and maintained his gap from there.

Hated that i spun at the corkscrew after i finally grabbed 2nd (due to Bionic's penalty of course). I seem to be having focus issues lately :lol:

I had mentioned to Dolph the other day how well he was lapping that one, but really you were throwing down the best looking laps.

I was planning to do the race recaps tonight, but was pretty tired and decided to take a nap after eating dinner after getting home from work. The nap went a little bit longer than expected...:lol: I have the results done, it's just the night recap I need to write up. I may just post a shortened one tomorrow, as I expect it to be another long day at work. :yuck: Yesterday and today were :banghead: for me.

Here are the results. Yes, it was another verrry long day at work. Apologies again for not having the race night recap. Maybe tomorrow I'll get to it, as I actually have a much needed day off. Nothing like having 20 hours of overtime. :boggled: If anything, at least congrats to Hector on his wins in the 2nd and 3rd races, and great photo finish between Hector and gr8racrs in the first race. 👍

Sorry guys about not making it for the final race last night it disconnected me while I was sitting in the pits, so I rejoined. And then it once again disconnected, so I went back to clear my cache. Upon trying to re-enter the lobby menu, the game froze on me. So then I quit which then logged me off and I had to do the system file thingy. But before all of that happened there was lots of great racing going on. Race 2 was great in the beginning but of course I wore out my tires trying to pull away from the pack which meant Dolph would later catch up and pass me when I spun coming out of the chicane. Overall a great night and I can't wait till next week! :cheers:

Turtle Racing League - Race Night Recap​

What a great set of races we had for FLEX on Friday! Off track excursions, pit strategy, close finishes, etc...we had 'em all racing those M's around. We also welcomed a couple of new Turtle members to the league this week. And watch out, because one of them is fast!

First up was the M3 at Brands Hatch. Most all Turtles went off course at least once, with many enjoying the grass or sand more than once. DolphDrago sat on the pole, but couldn't navigate the tricky first turn, getting into the sand before sliding sideways in front of the field. Luckily, there was head's up driving by the all the Turtles (and the moron was ghosted, so anyone unable to avoid him came away unscathed). GTP_Severn had a dominating, clean race, pulling away for a commanding lead for much of the race. However, there was a concentration lapse on the final lap as he went off course, bringing newcomer Bombonito, who also recorded the fastest lap of the race, to his rear bumper. Luckily for Severn, he was able to hold off Bombonito for a 1 1/2 second win. RacingOtaku86 finished with a solid 3rd place. micantony came home 4th, while turnupdaheat rounded out the top 5. Dolph challenged for a podium spot with 5 to go, but slid wide off track, and seemingly lost all control of his car for the final portion of the race, settling for a 6th place finish. gr8racrs and euclid58 had a good battle near the end, coming in 7th and 8th respectively, less than 1 second apart. GTMX-HECTO1 had a bit of a struggle and ended the race in the 9th position. Other newcomers smcinnis and Pichon617 rounded out the field, with the clock winding down smcinnis in 10th while Pichon parked early after only a few laps, finishing 11th.

Next up was the Nurburgring GP track with the finicky M4. Like race 1, one of the drivers, this time gr8racrs, pulled ahead for a large lead while setting a blistering fastest lap of the race. Dolph was on a charge, and tried hard to catch up to the leader. It paid off, as gr8racrs burned up his tires trying to lengthen and hold his lead. He would loop the car around after the chicane coming to 2 to go. Dolph surged passed and went on to victory, while gr8racrs regained his composure and settled for 2nd place. There was a fantastic battle for 3rd through 7th in the early stages. mic improved his previous race 1 position by a spot, finishing on the podium in 3rd. Hector had a better race 2 result, winding up in 4th, with Racing and euclid finishing close together for 5th and 6th. turnupdaheat found himself in the 7th position at the end of the race. The top 2 finishers of race 1 ran into trouble, and ultimately lower finishing positions. On lap 6, Severn wound up it the kitty litter at the Schumacher esses, spinning onto the track in front of Bombonito, who was unable to avoid him. With heavy damage, both drivers were forced to make a pit stop. Bombonito would finish in 8th, while Severn put on a drift show on the final lap and finished in the final 9th position. smcinnis and Pichon did not start the race.

The final race of the evening involved the M5 at the always difficult Spa-Francorchamps. What looked like would be a routine race turned into anything but, as fuel and tire wear would play a huge factor in the results. A great handling car on fresh tires quickly turned into a tricky handling one as the tires wore. And fuel would come in to play on the final lap, leading to drivers having to decide on a strategy for the event. Eau Rouge turned out to be a menace as well, with Racing making contact with turnupdaheat on the first lap. As the race started to settle down, Hector and Bombonito were battling for the lead, well ahead of the field. The final lap would prove to be very interesting. Hector lead at the white flag, but ran out of fuel shortly after the long straight following Eau Rouge. Bombonito seemed destined for the win, but ran off course around 2/3 of the way around the track, then ran out of gas himself just before the left handed kink leading to the final chicane. Dolph, who was running 3rd at the start of the final lap, was able to save just enough fuel, passing by Bombonito just after the kink, and taking the late win for the second time of the evening. A couple of Hector's fast buddies came in for race 3, one of them being GTMX-Dimebag. Dimebag was closely trailing Dolph's car throughout the second half of the race. He too would pass Bombonito just before the final chicane, before also running out of fuel coming out of the chicane. He finished 2nd in his maiden race, just in front of Bombonito in 3rd. Another one of the GTMX'ers, GTMX-hugoboss, ran a 1 stop strategy to assure he had enough fuel to make it to the end. He was within sight of 2nd and 3rd at the finish line, but not quite close enough, finishing 4th. mic and euclid finished 5th and 6th respectively. Severn, who was running in front of them on the final lap, found himself going in circles at the left handed kink, dropping down to 7th in the finishing order. Racing couldn't dig himself out of the hole after his collision with turnupdaheat at Eau Rouge on lap 1, ending up in 8th place, with Hector coming home in 9th. turnupdaheat ran only a few laps, and DNF'd in 10th. gr8racrs had trouble staying connected to the room and unfortunately could not start race 3.

Despite a rough first race, Dolph took 1st place in the overall standings, with a pole to boot. micantony was 2nd. And Bombonito finished 3rd overall in his Turtle debut. Who knows where he would have finished overall if he didn't have to pit in race 2. Despite his tough finishes in races 2 and 3, Racing was able to use his strong podium finish in race 1 to manage 4th overall for the night. Severn's eventful evening left him 5th overall with euclid six points behind in 6th. Hector and turnupdaheat tied for 7th in points, with Hector taking the spot due to running a faster lap in 2 of the 3 races. gr8racrs would have finished higher in the overall standings if not for his connection issues before race 3, and had to settle for 9th overall. smcinnis and Pinoch rounded out the field for the night, finishing 10th and 11th, as they called it a night after the first race.

I would like to thank everybody for coming out. It made for a fun night with many drivers out there for each race, especially adding two very fast drivers in race 3 with Dimebag and hugoboss. And watch out for our newest member, Bombonito, as he was wicked fast all night.
