Turtle Racing League - Race Night Recap​

What a fun night of racing at the legendary Monaco Circuit we had! Lots of close battling, wall crashing, and wicked fast Turtles.

The night started off with BionicDerp putting down an uber fast lap for the pole for race 1. A rough start was had by at least two drivers, as DolphDrago and GTMX-HECTO1 (and possibly euclid58) had a false start with the new starting system in place. Immediately they were put behind the 8 ball. Bionic pulled away for a large lead which he would hold for the entirety of the race. However, it wasn’t without pressure near the end. Dolph put down some quick laps, breaking into the 1:33’s on one seriously fast lap. After the false start that put him back aways, he methodically made his way past the the drivers in front of him until he reeled in Bionic with only a handful of laps remaining. Unfortunately, while right on the tail of Bionic, Dolph would clip the wall coming out of the chicane with 2 to go, ending his bid for a come-from-behind victory. He would settle for 2nd, less than 3 seconds behind race winner Bionic. Bombonito ran a solid race to take bronze. RacingOtaku86 and GTP_Severn had a good battle going into the final lap before Severn looped it in one of the later corners. Racing would end up 4th while Severn would finish in the 5th position. Hector, who like Dolph had the false start penalty, found himself in 6th at the end of the race. Euclid and randy1122 hung in there, both finishing the race, in 7th and 8th respectively.

Three drivers did not start race 2: Bombonito, Hector, and Randy. However, it would prove to be just as, if not more, exciting than race 1. Race 2 saw Severn take off and pull out to a hefty lead. Bionic would be the first to break out and start to chase down Severn, later followed by Dolph. By around the midpoint of the race, there was a fantastic 3 car battle for the lead. Severn would lead, with Dolph and Bionic exchanging positions throughout the race. Eventually Dolph got alongside and by Severn going through the tunnel. Severn suddenly appeared to suffer from brake fade :lol: and went very deep into the chicane, ghosting and getting a penalty. Dolph had to maneuver around him, and Bionic seized the opportunity by passing both Severn and Dolph coming out of the chicane. While at the time, Dolph and Bionic had set identical fast laps, Bionic seemingly turned on the nitrous (figuratively of course, with tuning prohibited and all :D), pulling away and setting a blistering fast lap time into the 1:37’s on his sports softs. He would pull out another victory of just under 3 seconds. Dolph again would be the silver place finisher, with Severn right on his bumper for the majority of the final laps, finishing 3rd. Racing had a lonely race, coming home 4th. Finally, euclid made a couple of laps before engine failure, sending him into the pits and relegating him to a 5th place finish.

There was no race 3, as a driver or two of those that were left couldn’t run another race.

Congrats go out to Bionic for his pole and 2 wins; a perfect evening for him.

The future schedule is being worked on and should hopefully be posted soon. At least now you know what we're racing this week and have time to practice these combos. 👍

Despite making the schedule, I haven't practiced the first two combos, only the third. And right now my download is taking forever. So I probably won't get any practice until right before the race. :grumpy:

Race for Real, High Racing Quality, Low Voice, deep forest, race alone, final corner start, 5 min qualify, time limit 30, hold disabled, grid start with false, fastest first, boost off, weak penalty, normal fuel, real grip, no min pits, vis dmg off, light dmg, real slip, no tuning, all but abs restricted
 
Uhhh...I'd have to see the settings. The most important thing to start with is qualifying/practice/endurance race 30 minutes.

Edit: looks good. The only difference I might do is strong penalty. Thanks
 
Yeah it was fun racing with ya. I still remember that race we ran with the 787B at Autumn Ring in GT5. You were incredibly fast, but slid off track a few too many times. :lol: When consistent, you can tear us up.

Your right dolph, mine got aggravated at me be cause I was gonna fire up the ps3 instead of washing the car Wednesday evening. I told her if I wash the car I would not have time for my game before bed. She said "good maybe you'll sleep all night for a change on your night off".
Yeah right was up at 3:30 am downloading the update. Played till 6. Mine will definitely never understand.

I to remember that 787b race. You and wins both lapped me 3 times in a 45 min race. I remember thinking how fast you guys were. I was thinking I can beat the AI why can't I beat these guys. It was my second race online. You guys didn't race anything like the AI. Ha Ha
