I'm going to answer your question in the thread in case anyone else was wondering the same thing.
Try to pick cars that you feel comfortable with. You could be in a quick car compared to everyone else but you will need to drive consistently as each race is 15-20 minutes long. This is especially true for your MR and FR choices because we are only using sports hards so you will need to gradually accelerate and watch your entry and lateral speeds.
Some cars are better than others at their PP value, as we learned in GT5 while competing in this series. Cars like the Elise, LFA, and BMW CSL are popular over-dogs in their ranges but we are still feeling our way through GT6. I used the Spoon Integra last Thursday and I was thoroughly unimpressed. It seemed to have much more understeer in GT6 and truthfully I only used it because I liked it in GT5 and never even tested it in the new game. It was a lot of money too now that I think about it...
Anyway, pick a car you are comfortable with and that you don't need to spend big on. I'm not sure what everyone's wallet or garage looks like, but both of mine are getting bigger now that we have better payouts and log-in bonuses. I did the Red Bull events yesterday with 200% bonus so i splurged on the '84 Ferrari GTO.
As far as the PP split goes, there is not much wiggle room with cars being restricted to 5% of the mean. For tonight, the first two races have a max PP total of 750. The max value for a car is 394pp and the min is 356. Typically, we try to pick two cars somewhere around the middle but depending on your garage or strategy, you could pick one car at or near max and the other at the minimum. Just remember that the car's final PP value is AFTER purchase AND oil change. Spreadsheet is here.

i figured after some practice its just to be comfortable. Im pretty new so there is alot of factors here that got to get nailed down too
re: credits..i got 4.5 mil, i put on a pre order bonus that i was not going to use but i figured it might be good for snial, seasonal events @200%,
i wish we could send credits and cars to eachother,
i like this league because it gets me to try out all sorts of cars

We will be using sports hard for all four races tonight. Your line-up looks good, just make sure you get a few laps in each car and do the oil changes. 10:30pm EST tonight will be the qualifying at Apricot Hill and the room details will be posted up here in this thread by probably around 10:15pm.

Most of the guys were West Coasters and unlikely to race with us...but ya never know

Then once you open the lobby screen for online play, check the box at the bottom that says "Friends Only" (I think) and the room should show up. I will be on around 10pm EST messing around so anyone is welcome to enter early.
