Found it!

Turn 2, lap one of our first race at Apricot Hill. This is Joe, Racefan and I with Joe wasting no time hitting me in his dinosaur BMW...

I'll just put this picture here for Ken. He knows why.

Race two at Brand's Hatch. Me spinning out on the first turn of course:

Joe and I had a few good laps until I spun again.

Pop-up lights FTW

I just tried doing that Spa seasonal in the SLS GT3 Merc....I can get it under 2:20, but I reckon some tweaking on the suspension and the like would have to be done to get gold for it so I just did it in the Audi R18 like everyone else.

Yea I used the R18 and got gold on the first lap I didn't spin out

Easy on the power out of corners was my motto with that thing....the brakes were so much stronger than the SLS, took me a little while to get used to it. Just bought the Hyundai Genesis; it's quite predictable offline, will see later if that remains the case in a lobby

Hey guys I have been toying with an idea for a one time event and would love to see what you all think.

I call it:

100 Horses

The idea is that the cars can have a maximum 100hp and a minimum weight of 900kg. Basic thoughts are that power can be limited by a maximum of 20hp and weight can not be added. Tuning is allowed although no power can be added to the cars. Below are two cars that would fit the requirements. The Demio would be my weapon of choice



Let me know if you think this would be fun and we can try to choose a day and time to run it.

So hang on a minute; you're allowed to do weight reduction, but cannot add ballast back to get it to 900kg, is that correct? It does sound interesting, joby

Sounds like a lot of fun to me! So let me get this straight, no power adders (I'm assuming this includes nitrous?) and no ballast? All other tuning options are fair game?

Here's what I got out of Joby's idea and I think between Racefan and Tez it is correct:

Car must have 100hp max.
Car must have 900kg min.
No power can be added.
No weight can be added.
Power can be limited by 20hp.
All tuning besides weight and power can be done.

@jobyone , can you confirm?

That is correct except you can lighten the car by reducing weight. You can just not add ballast to bring the car up to weight. It is largely a starting point. We need to see if that power to weight ratio is fun. Then we can expand it out a bit to bring in more cars. Also I am not sure what tires to run so we will need to have a go on various tires and see what produces the best racing.

Definitely CS. That would make the RR/MR cars more fun too.

Just a thought. It was a rule I had when I ran a tuning series that was set at 433 HP and 1250 KG. It was great fun and there were a ton of cars to choose from.

I did some testing toward the end of GT5 at different HP/KG combos and found some levels, higher and lower, that had a lot of available cars when using the rule as stated above.
