^ Oh interesting. I was on your bumper through the whole first section but after the downhill into the long right sweeper you would pull away going up that hill. That makes me feel a little better about being like 3 seconds slower than you at the line.

You know what I love about DTC? If you pick a crap car only you have to suffer;)

For the seasonals is anyone using SRF (or whatever it is called)?

Can we change the main page to reflect this weeks PP and track?

Not sure what to do about new tracks. Maybe we can add two or three new tracks to each group? This might make it easier to pick tracks :)

Or just have a list of 15-20 tracks we can choose from without having actual groups?

I have updated the post good sir.

As for the track Idea we currently have 9 tracks. Would you really want to double the selections? How about we add 6 so we have 15?

Current tracks
Motegi Super Speedway
Brands Hatch - Indy Circuit
Spa Francorchamps
Indy Road Course
Deep Forest Raceway
Willow Springs - Big Willow
Silverstone - Grand Prix Circuit
Trial Mountain
Tsukuba

Also how about this as an idea for keeping the track list changing. Each week we choose a random participant to be able to replace one track? The drivers who come first and second would not be eligible for this prize as they have already won a prize.

Also Joe. Your PP total last week was 1887 on the score sheet. I assume our Known PP for some of your cars is wrong or the wrong car is listed. Can you let me know which cars I need to update?

I could have used a Lancer Evo, or any 4WD for that matter, driving to work in the snow this morning. :nervous:

I really enjoyed that seasonal with the Evo so I'm hoping I get more than 5 or 6 tries at it later today. Your ghost was quick @tezgm99. That was the first time I had driven in snow since GT5 and it was a lot of fun.
Lol wanna borrow mine?

Just throwing out an idea along these lines. What if we expanded the track list, as we have mentioned, but then exclude the tracks from the previous week. For instance, this Tuesday we wouldn't be able to use the three tracks chosen by the winners last week which were Trial Mountain, Indy Road and Spa. This would allow the winner to have a large group of tracks to select from while also cutting out week-to-week repetition.

Just a thought.

Man, after a few hours of ****ing around with these ****boxes, I think I finally have something that works. But I'm a few PP short of the max, which I guess is no biggie. Really hard finding a good FR car that meets the limits and tried desperately to get an S2000 in my lineup, but haven't made it work. The only thing I can get to work with is the Mazda Savanna and it's fast but drives like a brick to me. I guess Tuesday is the real test!

I'm guessing most will go for a FR-S, BRZ or GT86 for the FR option....mainly due to its predictable handling and it's pretty good for its PP number.

Edit; OT for this but I might have to start calling you Scotty, Joe....the practice you gave me at Silverstone with the RX-7 worked miracles tonight

So before Tues comes, what are we doing for tracks so all the animals don't try to kill me :)
I will figure out a track list tomorrow morning. Assuming there are no dissenting votes we will switch to an open list of 15 tracks. A random racer will get to replace one track for the next race.

I'm currently rolling with this line-up but I have some more testing to do:

FF - TRD Celica '00 416pp
4WD - VW Boring '01 391pp
FR - Nissan 300ZX '83 421pp
MR - Opel Speedster '00 410pp

@danfurey
I saw your line-up on the spreadsheet and it looks good. That Lotus is a handful, especially on these sports hard tires, so get some practice in with it before tomorrow night.

yeah thanks for the warning about the lotus. Definitely have learned that its a bitch on braking and you have to have it already lined up for the corner so that you are in a complete straight line under braking. But it is great at taking corners after that. Don't think mine is finalized but I hope to have it done tonight!

Here is my plan. Tomorrow night run with the existing 9 tracks in an open format so no groupings. After the race the 3rd-8th place finishers will each get to choose one track to add to the list for next week. Will that work for you guys?

Crazy bad day at work today. I'm so glad it's DTC night... :D

DriveTrain Challenge racing tonight at 10pm EST. 1640pp is the limit and all cars must be between 390pp and 431pp on sports hard tires. First race and qualifying are at Autumn Ring reverse and the event will be held in a friends only room. Friend Ice_Warden on PSN for access prior to around 9pm when he opens the room.

Any questions on the racing format please post in this thread.

Ken you big meanie, I was thinking about the exact same lineup that you've entered in the spreadsheet

Made a minor adjustment to mine so we don't have that however

Quick question and I'm sorry if this was covered in the rules but I searched. If a car bought from the dealer without any tuning comes with customizable parts like the suspension, are we allowed to changed those settings for our car?

No. You may not change any settings on the car even if it comes with adjustable parts. The tuning prohibited setting will not allow you in the room if you do. You may change brake balance and still get into the room.

Lineup for me tonight (untested as it may be):

MR: Elise '11 395PP
FR: Subaru BRZ '12 413
AWD: Audi S3 '02 412
FF: Civic Type R '08 420

Ok, here's how I'm gonna smoke y'all tonight............
............................................NOOOOOOOT! ahahahhah!

FF: Honda Civic Type R '97 - 397pp
FR: BMW Z4 '03 - 427pp
MR: Toyota MR2 G-Limited '97 - 411pp
AWD: Mitsubishi GTO SR '95 - 404pp
