Ok...waiting for wife/kid to get off Rockin Roller Coaster while I watch my daughter.

It sounded better in my head but....

Somehow we all choose our lineups and then we have to use a lineup someone else chose. Either randomly or via a prize or something. It sounds hard to implement now that I am typing. But it would be cool to have to drive lineups chosen by someone else.

Hmm...
Kinda mentioned last night, I think by Ken, was to have one or two preset line ups that we all run except each individual chooses when to run which car.

This would need a sort of shuffled track list too.

I would love to see a team element to the series. Not sure how to make it work. I also wish I could get a late night event going. I miss this series so much. Driving the 190e and the redbull jr made me realize how much more fun I have in slower cars.

The Random participant that gets to choose a new track to add to the eligible tracks is

@Schmiggz!

You can replace one of the tracks below that is not in Blue with a track of you choosing. Choose Wisely my friend:)

Spa Francorchamps
Indy Road Course
Deep Forest Raceway
Willow Springs - Big Willow
Silverstone - Grand Prix Circuit
Trial Mountain
Tsukuba
Circuit de la Sarthe (With Chicanes) (Chosen by @racefan78 )
Daytona Road Course (Chosen by @tezgm99 )
Apricot Hill (Chosen by @88GTA )

Home now...time to hash out what I was thinking.

It would have to be a situation where we still pick our lineup for ourselves...so we choose what we actually want to drive. But there would be a chance where you would have to switch lineups with someone.

OR...something where the top finishers get their lineups chosen by someone else.

I dunno...it seems like it would be cool to have to drive a surprise lineup not of your choosing once in awhile as a penalty or lottery situation. Not all the time...because the best part about this series is picking your own cars.

Just thinkin....

Thanks for the honor Joby. I'll replace brands hatch for la sarthe with chicanes.
Why? This track never had a chance on any snail event.

I am pretty certain that as a group, we could run terrible combos and still have a good time so I will throw out a couple thoughts. I agree with you that picking your own cars is the best part of this series so I will make that a staple. I will, however, point out that there are times where I will choose a car because I know it is an overdog or not pick a car because it is slow for its PP value. This leads to what joby has pointed out in the past as an overuse of certain cars.

One idea: Themed races
Winner picks a PP total for the next week and 2nd through 5th can pick a themed race, for example, 90's FF cars, NSX races, Muscle Car races and Sti vs Evo battles. Because these themes are vague, you could still impose a PP cap for the night and pick these types of cars to compete. Want to run a really slow '90s FF and save PP for your STi? Or maybe max out with the muscle car and use the slowest NSX?

Some other themes:
- Ferrari Race
- Lambo Race
- Civic Race
- Nissan Skylines
- Rally Car Race
- Kei Car Race
- GT300 Race
- BMW M Race
- FR-S/BRZ/GT 86 Race
You get the idea.

I think we can all agree that clean, close racing is crucial, so anything which promotes this while still allowing us to choose our own cars is the ultimate goal. Even if we just added one restriction to the night, maybe by the 3rd place finisher, to add another element. For instance, you can't run any cars with more than 5 gears, or all cars must have larger than 2.0L engines. Something that made sense according to the PP total of course.

Just throwing out thoughts.

Duh me!!!(self fish slapping)... brands hatch out that "wald" thing in the swiss alpes in. Cant remember the name. 7am on my phone:D

I know I don't race much (damn baseball, basketball, and schools playing games on Tuesdays) but it seems every time I do race, I hear someone throw out the idea of racing your picks in order of PP from low to high or high to low and every time the idea is thrown out, people seem to like the idea. I think it would promote closer racing as you wouldn't have two guys with the highest PP car and two guys with their lowest in the same race but it would still allow the freedom to pick whatever cars you want to.

So many good ideas. We should run a second night with a different set up. Maybe like a night or day Jobyone and the west coast guys (that don't race with us) could run with us.
Thats another great idea to add into the great ideas bowl. The only thing that bothers me is low attendance. I love full grids.

Watched the replay last night of the Laguna race. The one where just about all of us ran the FF. Man what a good race even to go back and watch.

Are you talking about her Materhorn tracks? There are four of those. Can you let us know which layout? No rush.
