The S.N.A.I.L. DriveTrain Challenge (DTC) - Open to all

Welcome to the DriveTrain Challenge (DTC). We are a tuning prohibited event that requires all participants to use four different drivetrains and uses the Performance Point system in Gran Turismo as a limiter on the nights racing.

Please click on the images below for more details on the series. Click on the Car to go to the signup sheet, the Calendar to see the next event details, the Gear to see the rules and regulations, and the Track to see the current eligible tracks.

Leaning towards Cape Ring South at the moment for the qualy track.
Are you still leaning or have you made a decision;)

Sorry for the double but I may be free to do some racing tonight and thought I should ask if anyone is free. Quite frankly, the online rooms in GT6 are few and far between and I've been itching to do some endurance racing. I thought about cmbeal's race tonight but I only run the Nordschliefe in TTs.

Anyway I would be down for anything really so is anyone free to race a little tonight? Anywhere from 8 pm Est to 12 maybe? We could also discuss some of these league ideas.

@jobyone
@JoeW
@tezgm99
@kendawg
@danfurey
And anyone else...

I stopped racing on Saturday night since GT6. I kept getting disconnected so I said the hell with it. They should go back to GT5 till they get it fixed.

So I chose my lineup with no testing yet again :). I rule as usual.

I hate when the choices are so limitless.

BMW 507...368pp
Atenza 25z...381pp
Audi Quattro rally...556pp
Audi R8 LM...594pp

Testing this line-up after work today. Should be on around 4pm EST if anyone wants to join.

750:
FR - Miata VR-Limited '95 368pp
FF - Mazda Atenza 25Z '07 381pp / Abarth 500 '09 377pp / Tiburon Turbulence '99 379pp / Spoon CR-Z 381pp
1150:
MR - McLaren MP4-12C '10 581pp
4WD - Subaru Impreza TC 565pp

@bloodredsky
I'm glad you decided to give the race a try for tomorrow night. You should give a lot of these guys a run for their money. 👍

So I have been thinking of an idea. I would love it could be co-hosted by DTC and the West Coast Division (ie late night so I might be able to take part)

The idea is Vintage SNAIL racing.

1. We would do 3 races with one qualifying session. Reverse grids on each subsequent race. (so about 1 hour for the event)

2. All the cars would be pre 1980.

3. There would be two car lineups (A and B)

4. People D1-D2 speed would use lineup B the rest Lineup A to start.

5. Teams would be set up with D1 guys pairing up with someone D7-8, D2 guys Pairing up with D6-D8 and then D3-5 guys forming teams.

6. Any race winner switches to lineup B for the next race if not already using lineup B

An example of the lineups could be:

A - Ferrari 250 GT '61, Alpine A110 1600S '72, Volkswagen Golf I GTI '76
B - Jaguar E-TYPE Coupe '61, Lotus Europa Special '72, Honda CIVIC 1500 3door CX '79

So The FR's would race at the same time. Same for MR/RR, and FF

Tires would be Comfort Medium for 450pp or less and Comfort Sport above 450. (the higher PP car for the drivetrain sets the Tires used)

Do you guys think the idea has any merit?

I love those pre 80`s cars, specially the 70`s Japanese with the side mirrors in the front of the hood. Definitely a very good idea.

Option 1
Toyota CELICA GT-R (ST183, 4WS) '91 - 376 - FF
Nissan Fairlady Z 280Z-L 2seater (S130) '78 - 370 - FR
McLaren McLaren MP4-12C '10 - 581 - MR
Mine's BNR34 SKYLINE GT-R V・spec N1 base '00 - 566 - 4W

Option 2
Toyota CELICA GT-R (ST183, 4WS) '91 - 376 - FF
Daihatsu STORIA X4 '00 - 369 - 4W
Honda HSV-010 GT Base Model '12 - 580 - FR
Honda NSX-R Prototype LM Road Car - 560 - MR

I really enjoy the HSV's but I can't make it work without sacrificing power on the 4WD selection. That STORIA is **** on wheels.

You must be PSN friends with Ice_Warden to enter the room. Do not wait until 10pm/7pm to send out the request as both parties must be in the XMB menu for it to work properly.

@bloodredsky
I added your name to the spreadsheet linked above so feel free to add your cars to the sign-up sheet. Don't forget to add Ice_Warden on PSN.

I kinda frustrated cuz after trying all my options and run totally and absolutely broke(again) I'm not happy at all with my set. I'll make one last review latter on and post it. Another thing, I'm definitely not a big fan of this split thing. Makes things even harder.
