Really...weird how every test has turned out the exact same for me.

And yeah, the artificial turf is going to be harder and harder to avoid once the surface wetness gets up there...those braking zones can vary up to an entire yard marker (50 yards) from L1 to L8. Beware.

Hmm. (pondering) Anyways when is the last time you guys ran a wet race in this series ?

*Edit - i meant to ask if someone won a race, could they pick any version of apricot hill ? like reverse at night with rain ? Just wondering.

Last year on GT5. I had the choice and went with High Speed Ring with total wet conditions (100% rain, 100% surface water and 0 changeability). As I seemed to be the only one who did any testing for it, I romped home in my lowest PP car of the night since I was on CS

Yea that was BS. :sly:

I did 12/15 laps between 7% and fifty something% wet surface with the 73 Skyline in sports hard tires and didn't even felt lose tail or side sliding in any corner of the track. Now, is that car enormously grippy and I will now get a bad surprise when doing it again with any other car or is there someone trying to include some thrill to that race here?
One thing is for sure, Ièm definitely heading to that track again... just in case :odd:

My teams' slo-pitch schedule is out and, at the moment since it's weather dependent, the only games on Tuesdays are May 20 and May 27.

I'm only a spare again this year (dodgy knees and running don't mix very well  ) but I usually show up to support the team and also just in case they need someone to play for whatever reason.

Practice room up!
What Tire wear/Fuel consumption setting is used for the league?

Fast.

That's good that it only ended up being two games.

Schmiggz,
When I did some testing with an FR car on CS and SH tires, the SH were noticably worse under braking and lateral cornering once surface water got above maybe 25-30%. Try doing the same laps with the CS tires and see if you have any change in lap times.

The FR car was the '04 Miata and after running 2:28 on SH with about 20% surface water, lap times dropped 2-3 seconds each lap as surface water climbed. After four laps, it was around 50% surface water and I was running 2:38s. You can almost feel the water holding the car back, even on straights. For all the things PD has screwed up in this game, the weather and time cycles are just awesome. It is still mind-bottling* to me that we can have something as unique as this and no event creator for me to use it in.

If the match, like tomorrow's, is just a straight split, do we not have to stay within the group limit? I ask because I see a some car selections outside the group limit, but within the total PP. If that's the case and group PP limits only matter for unequal splits then I have to totally rethink my selections.

I think it's usually 5% on each side of PP - this week they decided on 10% on each side, just because the 4W choices are two cars. 1500pp total still though. Looks like almost everyone is picking the 4W Diahatsu Sirion thingy though..

No the group limit only matters with a split. My spreadsheet fu is not good enough to make it smart.

Maybe if I had more time I could but for now if no split just worry about the total PP

10% just for the 4WD choice only. The other 3 cars need to be within 5%.

So all cars need to be within 356pp and 394pp. EXCEPT the 4WD which can be between 338pp and 412pp.

Feel free to post any questions in this thread. The first race is a little tricky this week so get any issues resolved before the race.

@bloodredsky
Please let gtsrgeoff know about tonight. He raced with us last week, but I'm not sure if he is on gtplanet. Thanks.

Sign me up for tonight!
Can anyone share their proposed line up? I may not have too much time to fiddle around to find decent cars.

Check the sign up sheet linked on the first page. Most of us have our lineups posted ;)

I wish we could all coordinate our 4WD cars to race the same race. The Element/Storia battles should be epic.

I don't think I'll make it today I have a dinner/meeting with my brother a marine. Since family is first.
Of course family is first. Thanks for letting us know and tell your brother thanks for his service.

Edit:
Friends room up

Edit 2:
Ran 8 laps with 1st being my out lap. Total time 22:10.4

Comfort softs, rain never stopped and surface water was showing 72% at finish.

Edit 3:
Same car, 8 laps with 1st as out lap. Total time 21:52.8

Sports hard, rain never stopped and again surface water was 72% at the end. Best lap (3) 2:28.3. Worst lap, (8) 2:45.4.

Around 50% surface water the sports hards just fall off a cliff where the comforts lose grip more steadily lap to lap.

Should be an interesting race...

So my kid has a game tonight. I should be back in plenty of time to start the room but don't freak out if 9pm rolls by and I'm still not on.
