What is the official verdict on tuner cars. It was said that the Nismo was OK. Are all Nismo's OK as they are a factory arm of Nissan? What about Amuse and Mugen? They aren't factory associated like Nismo? What about Gran Turismo? Their cars are fictional builds so I would assume they are out.

If we go with street legal and available for sale then all those companies would be open to be used as they sold and or built the car for someone to drive on the street with the exception of Gran Turismo.

Need a ruling so I can put a line up together.

@JLBowler
This is in no way a ruling, but my initial thought when someone says "production only" was that it had to roll off the assembly line and be sold by a dealer. I imagine that rules out a tuner which took a production car and then modified it.

That would be my understanding of production but I don't make the rules. Perhaps @kendawg could elaborate on what exactly his production car restriction limits.

Nismo and SRT are even handled differently. Nismo took existing Nissans from the factory and altered them and then sold them. SRT cars roll off the factory assembly in their SRT state. SRT is the same as Ford and their SHO / SVO / SVT, they come off the factory line that way. Shelby falls in line with NISMO in this respect as they take cars off the assembly line and alter them. Callaway would be the same. None of these companies (Nismo, Callaway, or Shelby with some exceptions) build cars from the ground up. They just take existing cars and alter them.

Good news! The rest of my stuff I left with friends may be arriving today....gives me the weekend to find something the chair/wheelstand won't slip on the wooden floor in my apartment if I want to return to my DFGT in time for Tuesday.

Damn now you will definitely be flying past me instead of us being evenly matched with you on the DS3.

So...I am taking a little break from Sunday night chaos and I'm thinking of another night to run something with you guys (my wife allows me two nights a week). Is Monday night a good night for some of us to get together and come up with a good idea for a race night...in addition to DTC of course.

To my Knowledge NISMO is an arm of Nissan (like AMG is to MB). So you could walk in to a Nissan dealership and order the Nismo 400r.

Depending on the Callaway model they were in fact a Regular Production Option (RPO) B2K and could be ordered from select dealers in the US Corvette dealers. Now the c12 is a challenge. I believe that they were also built in Germany by an actual manufacture so are considered a street legal production car in germany.

The R390 is also a challenge. Legally they had to build at least one street legal version and sell it. Supposedly they did this. So assuming they are not lying it counts.

Feel free to disagree but bring some evidence to support your argument.

I would run with you guys any night assuming the timing works which unfortunately it rarely does for me:( What are some of your ideas?
