Yes, but. Not coherent ones. Teachers and first free Friday happy hour = me, 20 of the 'girls' and early bedtime.

Night.

Joby...we were talking about your three car special event when Handlebar proposed sticking with four but allowing you to drop a drivetrain and add a second. This way we can stick with our format but go up in PP above 2000.

I still like using the same tires across all cars. But if you guys want to put race cars on race tires and adjust PP by a percent then that will be more complicated but I will work with it.

Basically Ken and Joe were explaining the dearth if FF choices at 500+ and 4WD below 400. Since this format is so flexible, allowing a 'joker' or choice car seemed to make sense.

You could even expand it further, something like dropping one required class for a 1% penalty, drop a second required class for a further 2% reduction of available PP, and so on.

Anywho, working a swim meet, back later.

I would prefer everyone on the same tires like we've been doing. Multipliers and/or penalties for racing tires seems way too complicated. It would be better to use Handlebar's suggestion of eliminating the hard choice to make by adding a second drive train layout to the mix and keeping four cars. One alternative is that we could make the "4th pick" have certain limitations to make it interesting.

For example, let's say we are running a low pp total, like 1400pp, where 4WD cars are hard to come by. Everyone picks one FF, one MR, and one FR like normal and then we have some rules for the 4th pick. Maybe that week we say that everyone has to run a truck as their 4th pick, or maybe a concept (there are a bunch of Mazda concepts with no drive train) or a '69 or earlier British car. Rather than requiring a second drive train we could do a type of seasonal/event restricted choice for our 4th car. We could even require the racers to have to run that car in the last or first race.

You could also have the pp limit only apply to fr and mr cars.

Run the same tires across the board. You benefit in the lower pp range (ff cars) and have a handicap in the higher pp range (awd cars).

Your total still needs to add up.

Everyone better be racing Monday so we can discuss.

I'll be on in a few mins for a little practice if anyone wants to race.

Mondays don't work for me. That's rockband night.

Joby,
A couple things I saw wrong on the spreadsheet:

Gran Turismo 350Z RS you have as MR but it is FR

Audi S4 '03 is in at 450pp but I have two used ones with no mods and 465pp right off the used lot. I just overhauled one S4, it has 1,5XX miles and 473pp.

Testing for Monday 1880pp:
FF - Dodge SRT-4 435pp
4WD - Evo IX GSR '05 451pp
FR - S2000 LM Race Car 508pp
MR - Lotus Esprit Sport 350 '00 500pp

Fixed and Fixed.

I like the ideas being put forth. Obviously staying with the same tires for all is preferred so lets stick with that.

I have another possible idea to throw out there. I hate the idea of losing one of the drivetrains so what if we capped the FF at say 450pp. For instance on a 1900PP night the PP restrictions would look like this

FR, MR, 4wd - PP range 428-523
FF - PP range 400-450

or for a 1950PP night

FR, MR, 4wd - PP range 439-536
FF - PP range 400-450

I would then suggest that all the FF's race at the same time.

We could do the opposite for the low PP races and allow the 4wd cars to have a slightly higher PP range.

I am going to hop on and do some practicing. Might open a lobby up

So if the FF's raced at the same time would we have to call out a track before the night started? Or would it just be the first or last race of the night?

Maybe we can let the third place driver choose that.

I just checked and mine is 518. Have you checked to make sure it doesn't need an engine rebuild or oil change?

Or that you have limited the engine.

Also guys I have had to switch shifts so I will be on call. This probably means I will not make the whole event. I will try to be there at the start so we can talk scheduling and other things. Looks like we should have a better turn out this week:)

Success, it's back to 518....the oil was the culprit, must have been using Mobil 1 :P

So, in order to lose enough points, I'll replace the GTR (518) with the Peugeot 206 Rally car '99 (504) for the 4WD selection bringing my total PP to 1874.

Edit; scratch that, 517 is the limit....will get back to you on this, lol

Wow. 2nd thru 6th separated by 1 point!! I hope you guys had some good on track battles. Ken pulled out the win. It looks like the Ruf 3400s at High Speed ring was a good choice.

The tiebreak for the three way tie for second goes to...

...Tezgm99:cheers: His 1st and 3rd just edges out Bowlers 1st and 4th which mean Joe gets 4th.

I hope you guys had fun.

Ken and Tez you can make your choices for next Monday.

Thanks for coming out tonight.
