The other cars seem to creep quickly into the upper quartile of the possible selections. Can we widen (raise/lower) the window? Add 2-5% to the spread?

I do not know if that makes a real difference, just wondering aloud.

Checking some garage choices while home for lunch.

Picking a 450pp FF will leave you with 1600pp for the other three drivetrains. Everyone will average at a minimum a 533pp car for the other three races.

The 2050pp puts us with sports soft tires right? Will we use these for the FF car too?

I'd imagine so....it's much easier to police since we can just set the tyres to SS and not have to worry about checking that everyone who is using their FF vehicle is on something else :)

I will be on late tonight running some testing and practice if anyone wants to join. This will be after SNAIL practice probably around 10 PT.

I will hop in D2 as soon as I get home and get a beer poured. I have to work two womens slow pitch games tonight. Should be done around 9 PT then just have to get home and get set up.

Monday lineup...should be interesting :)
FF...Spoon Integra 422pp
FR...M5 '05 529pp
4WD...Calibra Super Touring 552pp
MR...SP1 547pp

Stupid hardware update. Not sure if you are still practicing but I will be there as soon as the update finishes.

I had to do the update as well and just bailed on it. Sorry, will try again possibly late tomorrow night. Have to work a little league game but should be done between 9 and 10 so maybe after that.

10 PT tends to be good for me.

The high PP is > my frustration/skill level.

While I want to improve, I have started to wonder if my 'baseline skill level' is somewhere south of Neanderthal.

I am done spinning for the day, I will pass on tonight, and possibly Monday, but.. That is my last day of GT5 for two weeks, so, TBD. ;-)

I hope we get back to the 1600PP range. I found that to be the most fun with close races and a good choice of cars:)

Not 100% sure I can make monday but here is my initial go at a lineup
Ford Focus RS '02
Lamborghini Gallardo LP 560-4 '08
Ferrari 599 '06
Acura NSX RM '91

Also I have been updating the spreadsheet. There is now a sorted Known PP. This is sorted by drivetrain then PP. So hopefully the known PP sheet can now stay sorted alphabetically. This will make my life easier as I continue to update the known PP. One note about the Sorted sheet. It is bringing the data from the Known PP sheet. So any updates should be made on the Known PP sheet only.

Also the Monday sign up sheet now has the cars listed by PP for each drivetrain.

I hope this makes choosing cars a bit easier.

Hi guys. After some thought I dont think I will be able to do the SNAIL races on sunday. It will just take up too much time to break in the cars you have to buy and then test and then race. I dont use B spec- I love to drive, so having a B spec break them in doesnt make sense to me. If things change I would love to race with you guys.. looks like fun.

I liked it better when it was 2038;)

Been challenging in practice with these high power cars. I might actually run lower PP and be faster:( I am not complaining just saying that these cars are pushing my skills to the limit which is the only way to get better. I should be there for all the races tomorrow. Lets hope we get a good turnout.

Anyone else looking forward to the 2nd as much as I am?

I think after this we should probably just limit the PP to below 2000 or allow a person to drop a drivetrain and add another if the PP goes above 2000.

Having to limit one car to under 450 makes the other three cars average 533. But most of us are driving cars at 420ish which puts the remaining average at 543. Normally at 2050 the average would be 512.

Also, having a designated race for the FF kinda defeats the idea of being able to run any drivetrain vs any other.

Looking forward to tomorrow either way. Should be a fun test :)

I have to miss the festivities on Monday night. It's tournament time for little league and we are hosting Monday night so I have to work. I had a great line up ready to go so you all get lucky.

Have fun racing tonight guys. I should be able to practice Thursday the 4th in anyone is free for next week's race.

Joby,
I am excited for the GT6 demo tomorrow too!

I have tried several sessions with these cars and I am out of my league.

I hear you. I am faster in my 500pp selections than my 550pp cars. Regardless I will be on track having fun.

I think joe is right about the selection and dropping the ff cars at a certain point.

If the average PP goes high like this then maybe we should consider race tires just keep us all on the road?

Or nip it in the bud and just stick to the original formula and not go above 2000 :)

👍

One thing I have noticed is that if we handicap the slower drivers we are putting them in faster cars on the same tires which may not really help all that much.

Lets run tonight and see how things go.
