I tell you, tonight was just as much of a blast as I remember it being when I last raced here :D

Wolf; that race at DF was amazing....probably couldn't have had two more different cars if we tried, fantastic stuff đź‘Ť

Got about another month of slo-pitch before that happens. The team is going to Funtastic (autocorrect, quit trying to change the 'u', it's spelt like that as it's a name, ok?) this weekend for a tournament so I'm not sure I'll be back in time next Monday night. However, I should be able to pick a track before we leave on Thursday :)

might I suggest something a bit different like maybe La Sarthe no chickens?

I thought about that....my concerns with it are the rev limiter since we're not allowed to adjust the 'box and that the shortcut boundaries are very tight around it (unless no chicanes is better? I haven't tried it). I also just learnt that SSR7 is a full track, not just a drag strip

Good racing last night guys. Ken and I had some good battles, I think we had the same car strategy so we were always going at it.

Can you race SSR7 online? Also we can turn penalties off.

Oh no, I wouldn't have picked SSR7, I just found it funny that I only now figured out it was a full track after having the game for over a year and a half

Besides, 14.5 miles would take an age in the sort of cars we have for this....probably be around 6 or 7 minutes which wouldn't really be that brilliant.

Last night was awsome. I had a battle every race. I haven't had battles like that in Snail ever. It was so much fun. All of you were great and I really enjoyed the racing and the company..

Wow. 2nd thru 6th separated by 1 point!! I hope you guys had some good on track battles. Ken pulled out the win. It looks like the Ruf 3400s at High Speed ring was a good choice.

It was a battle all race long. I got lucky with a couple of laps to go when the tires started to wear. Everyone was loosing grip and starting to slip and slide. The RUF's handling paid off in the end. But it was a very hard driven race with lots of excitment.

I enjoyed the company, I wish I had been more competitive.

Are you guys running anything Thursday?

And my N00b question, roughly when do you post new point limit and/or tracks?

Take care.

Nothing official for Thursday. But if people want to then no reason why we can't race/practice.

New combos should be chosen soon. Ken and Tez just need to decide:)

Ok, I've done some testing and while I could be mean like it was suggested and pick Eiger for the higher powered cars since I likely won't be here next Monday, I don't really want to be the target for everyone's ire

So, and I compared the two layouts in a stock VW Scirocco, I'll pick the '05 Le Sarthe for qualifying. The main reason for this is that the penalties seem to be much less aggressive than on the '09 layout as I was able to climb all over the kerbs without getting the shortcuts.

Official Announcement

If it is O.K. with you Joby I would like to try out the new format you have.

New pp 2050

Thanks for the choices and Ken thanks for the great pics.

So for the first time the PP limits for the cars will be a bit different

All cars PP must be between:

461 and 564 for 4WD, FR, MR/RR

400 and 450 for FF

The total must still be 2050.

Also all the FF cars will be run at the same time. The third Place finisher from Monday JLBowler will choose where we race them.

Bowler please go ahead and make your choice from the following:

1. The Qualifying track - Le Sarthe 2005 with chicanes
2. Group A
3. Group B
4. Group C

So if you choose say Group B the actual track will be decided during the event by the winer of the previous track just like normal. If that person chooses a group B track then all drivers must use their FF car for that race.

Writing this out makes it sound really complicated but I hope that it makes some sense so if it does not or if someone can explain it better please help out.

One last thing. If you will be racing on Monday please try to post you lineup prior to the event. I feel that the more people see us posting the lineups the more attention we will get and hopefully have an even fuller grid than the 8 we had this week.

Awesome pics Ken! I'm going to start testing this afternoon for Monday's race but I'm likely out for tomorrow night's practice.

There are FF cars up to 498pp. We are not allowed to run those even if we want to? Even thouhh our total PP was still in line?

Yea looks that way Joe. 400-450pp for the FF which everyone has to run for the Group B track. Then the remaining pp is for the other layouts. I'm looking at picking a good FF choice for those tracks and then seeing how much I have left to work with for the other cars.

Here's what I came up with:
FF - Honda Integra Type R '04 422pp
4WD - HPA Stage II R32 547pp
FR - Lexus LFA '10 549pp
MR - Ferrari SP1 '08 547pp

I think I missed that discussion. I thought we would drop a drivetrain/add a drivetrain if needed to get to more cars at extreme high/low PP.

So even though the PP went up, I can't run any of the faster FF cars? Funky.

Yea we are trying this way out first.

It sure makes for 3 really high powered cars with the other drivetrains though.

While there are FF cars that go up to 498 the number is rather small (6 to be precise for a 2050 night).

While I am happy to try a three drivetrain night I would like to try keeping all 4 drivetrains if possible. By limiting the PP of the FF we get to still run them with enough selection to cater to people's individual taste. It also means the other three cars get to be higher PP. Running all the FF together should keep the on track battles closer.

If this experiment does not work we will try the three drivetrain format.
