The time change is simple, it's just how many times faster you want time to go. set it to x2 and it will be twice as fast as reality. Set it to x60 and it will be 60 times faster than reality (i.e. 1 second = 1 minute).

Weather changeability is the same, only it doesn't really correspond to real world changeability in the same way. Set it to one, and weather will change at a speed of "1" (whatever that is). Set it to 60 and weather will change 60 times faster.

In what way the weather will change is probably completely random. You can look at it as rolling a dice, I guess. Get 1-3 and weather will get worse, get 4-6 and weather will get better. Chances are that you will roll 4-6 every time and that weather stays bright and sunny. Or you roll a 1 and clouds are appearing, but then you roll a 4, and the sky is blue again.

What the changeability factor does, is that it's deciding how often the dice will be rolled. Set it to 1 and maybe it will be rolled once every hour. Set it to 60 and it will be rolled 60 times more often, i.e. once every minute in this example.

That's how I guess it works, anyway.

Edit: Actually, can weather changeability be set to 60? Or is it 1-10? I can't remember...

So I found this on gtp apparently no one knows how the weather settings work within GT6 lol

Should be a good race. I am going to give it my all to get a vette up on that podium. I feel like my speed is good enough to stay close, just down to being consistent and taking the right amount of fuel and hoping for the best. Good luck to everyone!!

Good luck (seriously) with that in the weather. If track weather percent stays at 0% then any tire will do the job of getting around a lap and letting you get back to pit lane for a change to IM's. IM tires are the only tires that our league can use to deal with heavy wet track percentage (believe me). But, if the weather % goes over 20% to fast before getting back to pit lane, look out. Ya better be on IM tires or you will have very little traction. I suggested ghosting to get the car back to pit lane, in the event the RH or RM tires leave you spinning, and was almost ejected from the room (SORRY, it was just a thought). Heavy rain can really mess with race tires, even in the real world. What would they do (no ghost of course)? for GT6, you would just have to bite the bullet and spin tires or park it until the track drys enough.

I don't care if the rain is not used tonight, but I was looking forward to it just to have a replay of the chaos that it will cause, and for a good laugh! We tested new setting at 50% and 25 changeability and the track never got wet (0%) for the 40 min test race.

Your thoughts?

I really, really want to be there. However I really, really, really want to go to the concert :(

I know that it's not ideal and am looking and playing with tracks and rain percentages to make it an interesting and fun option for race nights. I will leave it up to everyone who races tonight as to whether or not you race in the rain and to determine the settings in which they are used.

I ran a 50 minute practice race at 50% and 25 changeability. Was 0% surface water all race and then with 15 minutes to go it started creeping up steadily all the way to 100 and stay there the rest of the race. At 100, not even intermediates or full on rain tires were enough to stay on the track it was a nightmare. I dont know how to play it. Ive raced in rain in leagues before but it was always at a fixed level or a low changeability so it was never an issue. For a league race where points matter im not so sure about this one. The high rate of change means strategy is out the window. Ill race no matter what we decide on but dont sign off completely on the current plan.

Go ahead without me. I can't connect my PS3 to the Interweb.
You must watch "Grease Monkey Garage"!
WHOOHA!

Great fun again tonight, you super fast !@$ &*$@!$%

One day this Coyote is gonna get one of you Roadrunner's!:mischievous:

Incident file: Xrad-11 GT1 Season 16, round 3.

Against: GT6, Adding sunshine for weather change is of no use when the track is ALREADY dry. Dumb.
Penalty: Xrad-11 can reduce the weight restriction by 50KGs.
... I have reviewed your incident and confirmed it's validity, however I reject your penalty suggestion.

I do however penalize Polyphony 1 lost pre order for their upcoming title!

We started qualifying with rain and I was like o no going to be long night, then we had no rain while raceing was funny seeing sun come out making it bright.

For season 2 the last place finisher will pick first then everyone will pick in turn to the winner.
To make this process as fast a possible please tag the next person in line so they are aware it is their turn to pick. We will always have a 1 week break in between seasons for this process and will have an open test race for the off week
