Last night the series headed back to Twin Ring Motegi this time to compete on the East Circuit.
Kicking things off we had KnockOut Qualifying (KOQ) which turned out to be very uneventful. With 10 spots up for grabs and only 7 entrants meant everyone moved on to the main event races.
Race One had @GGGMotorsport taking the lead from pole position with @CoachMK21 working his way through the field to move into second place. Pit strategy this week saw most of the lead cars going for a single stop this week as the tires from Bridgestone seemed to hold up better due to the longer straights and slower corners. Hoever when the dust settled, it was @GGGMotorsport and @CoachMK21 holding on to a 1 - 2 finish with @Parcells2 rounding out the top 3.
The start of race two went much better this week in turn 1 however we did have some mechanical issues with @Dragonwhisky having fuel pump issues on the starting line which sadly also impacted @euclid58 not seeing the stalled car on the grid until it was too late. Up front and taking the early lead, ruddy2uesday lead the field in the early races only to fall victim to fuel mileage in the later stages. @Parcells2 though back up his 3rd place finish in the first race with a convincing win in the 2nd race. Second place finisher NORML_N came back strong this week after missing the cut last week finishing 2nd while @Jayc2k also saw his best finish in the series rounding out the top 3.
This week also saw three new names make the provisional entry list for the season ending All Star Race as @CoachMK21 @Jayc2k & NORML_N as a result of their podium finishes. With only two remaining spots left, drivers could soon see themselves being bumped from the grid.
Next week the series heads to city circuit of Tokyo R246 for the final points paying race of the season. Once again, knockout qualifying will start @ 8:00pm eastern with the potential of only having 5 spots available as the top 10 and the most recent series champion are potentially locked into the field.
Thanks everyone for some great racing last night.
