Talking about get togethers........

There are a bunch of us sim racing guys getting together for the IMSA races at Watkins Glen this June. Last year there were 8 of us at Mosport for the whole weekend, was a blast. Mostly SRM guys, but I'm sure anybody would be welcome. It was really fun putting faces to the voices we have all heard for years, Sgeti being one. I think he had a unique Canadian experience.

I live at Andersonville and Clark Rd. Wow.....One of my favorite day rides on my motorcycle is through Holt around Lansing then along the western edge of the state.

Ebishop / @Gr8_Lakes is up in the Saginaw area also. Lots of Michigan folks in SNAIL. Maybe the Detroit Grand Prix would be a good option as well.

M119 is by far my favorite roadb in Michigan. Once you get past Harbor Springs, man. Beautiful and fun.
Any of you go up to Atlanta for the Sno*Drift rally races?

I sled locally in my former hometown of Battle Creek with Northside Snowmobile Club. Don't really venture out of town too often on the sleds, worst fear is breaking down or blowing up in the middle of nowhere 4 hours from home and miles from my trailer.

Try that with a stripe that fades out from solid in the center to faded on the outside. It would match the design you have coming up the car. I did a faded stripe over the top of the McLaren like that and it came out pretty cool looking. I don't have a photo exported but I'll get one and post it up here when I'm in the game next.

Just a suggestion. What you have there is good.

Liveries are so much fun. My first inspiration when starting is to imagine I am a factory backed team so the only decals I usually put on are manufacturer based and then whatever is needed to represent SNAIL and GTPlanet. Here's my 86GT GRMN so far. I saw this Gazoo Racing logo and decided to make it a full stripe across the car and extending those stripes horizontally to make a two/three-tone car. The main bit is done, just to add decals and some flair. If you noticed the little winking penguin on the 'Vette, he's gonna be on all my cars now. I'm gonna try and get my avatar to the left uploaded as well.

Edit: I ran 10 laps at Bathurst and I was usually around 2:47 but I did run one lap at a low 2:46 and I think 2:45 is possible for me. So D1 is probably at...2:42-43??

Laying out all the parts on 3/4" MDF. Even had some 'help' at this stage of the build process.

Starting to put the pieces of the puzzle together for the first time!

And it sees the light of day for the first time! At this stage the Wheel and Pedal mounts are their earlier versions. Once everything started coming together, those 2 items would need to change based on real world conditions.

Here is the re-designed Wheel Mount. Basically took the original, flipped it 180 degrees and added an extension piece to get the wheel set to the right distance.

Spoiler: The Semi-Finished Project!

So this is currently how the rig is sitting. Some of the panels and sections have been covered using black speaker type fabric. The remaining unfinished panels will need a fair amount more work to get to their final destination. That will eventually come after using the rig for a bit as it will require dis-assembly to cover all the holes, prime everything and finally figure out some kind of "livery" for the sides. Also the wiring is a bit of a mess at this point. No point on buttoning everything up only to have to take it all apart to finish. I'll update this post as thing get finished. For now it's time to race!

Best laps I've seen at Bathurst are 2:45 and best on Alsace II I've seen are 2:14.

I can take a shot at it. I'm still learning the ins and outs of inkscape. There are some online converters that you might be able to try as well. I haven't played with any of them yet. I'm sure the livery editor thread in the GTSport area might be of some help.

I won't get to do anything until mid week so someone will probably beat me to it. I spent today checking off the honey do list and will be playing golf tomorrow. I love California as we get to play golf year round. I played last weekend in shorts.

So I've been blasting through the Driving School, Mission Challenges, and Circuit Experiences, all in an effort to get more familiar with the physics of GTSport. My hope is to learn the tracks and physics well enough to be respectively competitive in SNAIL after the new year.

But I have to say, the cars rewarded for completing some of these challenges are quite a joke. The occasional repeat doesn't really grind my gears, it's all the VGT cars. It's quite obvious the makers of GTSport invested a great deal of resources creating these cars, and that very few of the players of GTSport have any interest in driving these fake cars. So... they force them on you. Nothing worse than getting excited for a reward, and then you receive one of these jokes. It's too bad they couldn't just approach the vehicle manufactures after GT6 and say, "We're sorry, we grossly overestimated the popularity of concept cars with unrealistic handling characteristics. So, we're canning the program all together."

Eh, it's a small complaint, I just felt like bringing it up.
