If i ever need your opinion, i will let you know.

Not the best way to promote open discussion, in my opinion. That is of course, if I'm reading the sarcasm correctly.

For what it's worth, I agree with Handlebar and Oshawa and likely most other S.N.AI.L.s with respect to reporting all incidents. Unchecked poor behaviour leads to more poor behaviour.

I'm not saying all poor behaviour is done on purpose. In fact I'd say the majority of it is just a mistake or not knowing the correct behaviour. But everyone is responsible for being in control of their car. If you're not, you need to learn what your limits are so you can control the car and not cause anyone else grief.

S.N.A.I.L. Data Update

Hey everyone, got some exciting (I think it is anyway) news.

I've been working on the information available for Cars and Tracks and have been able to get the information to display in a better more readable format. And have some handy new stuff to peruse :)

Here's a summary of the changes I made in the S.N.A.I.L. Results spreadsheet.

Graph Tab : Added S.N.A.I.L. Average Weekly Performance Points graph (scroll down to the bottom of the tab)
Graph Tab : Added S.N.A.I.L. Weekly Performance Points graph (scroll down to the bottom of the tab)
Car/Track Information Tab : Added PP and Average PP to the S.N.A.I.L. Weekly Race History Sorted by Race Date section
Car/Track Information Tab : Removed Tires from the Car names in the S.N.A.I.L. Cars section (scroll to the right)
Car/Track Information Tab : Removed Laps from the Track names in the S.N.A.I.L. Tracks section (scroll to the right)
Car/Track Information Tab : Added a S.N.A.I.L. Manufacturers section (scroll to the right)
Car/Track Information Tab : Added a S.N.A.I.L. Car List section (scroll to the right)

The S.N.A.I.L. Car List section is a list of all Premium cars in GT5 and all the Standard cars S.N.A.I.L. has raced. It includes:

1. How many times the car has been raced in S.N.A.I.L.
2. Vehicle Name
3. Dealership PP
4. Year
5. Premium or Standard
6. Drivetrain
7. Price (whether or not it can be chosen for S.N.A.I.L (green is good, red not so much) For RM cars, the price is the original purchase price plus the price of RMing it.
8. Where the car can be won in GT5 (not sure if this is complete or not).
9. For RM cars, the PP of the car right after RMing it.

I think this section could really help the winners find a cool car that hasn't been raced in S.N.A.I.L. yet. As I was compiling the information I had a few ohh and ahh moments ;)

I hope you find the information useful, was a bunch of fun putting it together!

Cheers,

kcheeb

P.S. As always, if there's some information that you think would be useful to S.N.A.I.L.s, let me know, I'll see what I can whip up :)

Return of the data Jedi.. Epic stuff, cheeb!

Can anyone get my bobs up enough levels so that I can do the enduro race at Laguna to break in my cars?

Run the B-Spec seasonals. It only says recommended driver level on those. You can run a brand new Bob on the 650pp races and he will level up pretty quick.

He won't win, but he will level up.

On your new account? I'll try to run overnight. Get as many on share as possible. Run a couple of seasonal B spec and make a few more drivers if you have to. Gives me more drivers to use=quicker level up for you.

**********Sent you a car for tonight.*********

I finally found the white (car color) that I have been searching/waiting for:
TAFFETAS WHITE.

After I painted a car with it .......... didn't have another one. So, could someone(s) send me that paint chip? Before I use it, I will try to master the Duping process. Feel pretty "dupid" not being able to figure that out myself, but that comes with "advanced years" and not much computer savvy, I guess.

Would appreciate it if Y'all would send me a chip, or two.

Send FR to LR-PR-JLBowler and I'll see what I can do when I get back from basketball tonight.

Always keep it on 5/5. I'm not much of a tuner.

I usually adjust to keep trail braking consistent at least. If there isn't enough rear bias then some corners understeer and some oversteer, for me at least I'd rather it oversteer predictably. Do you trail brake on most corners?

I've been running your Bobs lately. I b-spec ran that Laguna endurance last week and my car didn't get any more miles on it. And it finished last.

What's your bb on the vette? I drove for about 30 mins yesterday and only managed a 2:01.

The F1 is really predictable though and I got a few high 1:43's in after 10 or so.

I took a few laps Weds and was getting high 2'00's in the Vette. I just ran the F1 for a couple laps and was @ low 1'44's (on SH mistakenly). Neither car is broken in at the moment either so I think there is a lot of room for improvement.

Both cars seem to be very manageable with throttle on turn exit so long as entrance speed is moderate and you hit apex. Only thing that bugs me about F1 is the (lack of) rear view as I use interior view. I know there's no way to see directly behind you from inside but it's pretty pointless nonetheless.

BB, I tend to keep at either 6/7 or 7/8 no matter what I drive. No idea if that's good or not but I've grown accustomed to it and I don't think either of these cars will be any different for me.

Kcheeb,

I love the new data-fu. Very cool. I can see where my personal PP bias comes in as I look back at weeks that were memorably fun, and others that were less competitive.

On the 'red, not so much' section, there are a variety of cars that are too expensive, some that cannot be painted (that was not a disqualifier for the '63 Race Car 'Vette, though), as well as a large amount of cars we simply have not used yet.

May I suggest we leave Red for the truly ineligible selections and a Yellow for the not-yet-selected

(Heading in to practice after breakfast this am)

Thanks Handlebar :)

Good idea on yellow for unselected cars 👍 Got caught up in the yep/nope idea. Will make it so shortly.

Well my Bob had a long night. He broke in the Z and the Vette, and he is whining about having to do the F1. Any chance someone could send me a broken in one, so I don't have to listen to him whine anymore...

Many Thanks.

Do you always leave your Brake Balance at 5/5 or was that simply what you found to your liking on this particular car?

Always keep it on 5/5. I'm not much of a tuner.

That's what I was hoping you'd say, and I couldn't have said it better myself. :sly:

Adjusting the brake balance on a car is form of tuning the car, period. It boggles my mind that PD would make Brake Balance exempt from the 'Tuning-Prohibited' setting, but they have.

The only reason we allow brake balance to be adjusted is because we can't police it. However, if PD ever comes to their senses and provides a way to monitor it effectively, I will immediately move to prohibit brake balance adjustments in this league. At this stage of GT5, it's unlikely that a change like that would ever come in a patch, but I'm hopeful that GT6 will be more logical..

Yes. I do fine with the stock brake balance most of the time.
