1.06 Update Details

They should be grippy especially on cars like the GT3 RS and la Ferrari. They use trofeo Rs in real life which are barely road legal and are virtually racing tires. Before this update sports tires where acting like damn comforts. Spinning from 1-4th gear in a GT3 RS was stupid on sports tires. Sports tires handle much more like should in real life now.
I mostly agree with the updated tire behavior. I once had trouble getting around T1 of Nurb GP in a Miata on Sports Hard, and I knew something was wrong. If part-throttle through a low speed hairpin on what should be at least summer tires could break a Miata loose like that, there would be none left on the road today.

Man....really???

The campaign mode was already the most easy of the complete saga....

Now PD has put even more grip in the cars and lowered gold request....

Now The game is in "baby noob difficulty" :banghead::banghead:🤬:banghead:🤬:banghead::grumpy:👎
The circuit tour part of the campaign should put gold up pretty high, it should be difficult to obtain. This was definitely way too easy, so if they made this easier, shame on them. That doesn't help anyone to become a better driver when it could have.

As for many of the missions... I believe that making the driver work harder to achieve gold in these bogus challenges is generally more detrimental to their driving overall.

For the most part, in order to gold these things you need to drive extremely aggressively. Passing 10 cars in 1 or 2 laps, with the grid positioning guaranteeing you meet opponents at places where passing is difficult will result in lots of unsafe moves. Of course on one hand, driving like an alien will allow you to reach gold without much unsportsmanlike conduct. But then most people can't drive that way - and so will achieve it however possible. I try to be clean, really, but generally my patience breaks down. Drive disastrously = gold = bad behavior positively reinforced.

I've been of this opinion for a long time - that these sorts of driving challenges produce rammers. Otherwise good folk used to years of this kind of dumb "racing" that is ubiquitous in GT come to race online and are a disaster. Making these challenges easier, to me, means fewer people honing the wrong skills.

is it only me or is after the update the gap between beetle and rest way bigger than before? and also the porsche cayman seems to be far more away now from the gr4 pace?

Hope it's not so. yesterday I had a nightmare race at Mount Panorama against a field full of VW Beetles. Just impossible to keep their pace...would have been something to fix

I just got a chance to try it. :) It's a nice improvement so far for me and I'm having fun. But I had to come back and look at this thread because I think it is funny that the PC master race sim racers are on the GT Sport forum desperate to let people know GT Sport is terrible and is not a sim and their favourite game is the real sim.

I wonder why they feel the need? Does it bother them that online racing is more popular on GT Sport? Does it worry them that people have been quitting iRacing (I did)? I think it is funny how they feel the need to tell us we are wrong if we like it and if we think it is better than other sims. :D

It is not a fact. I already gave you an example of how it is similar. The fact is the developers originally wanted to bring the GT experience to PC or didn't you know that? The fact is they both have similar driving aids. They do have similarities so you can't claim what you have as a fact

You can believe whatever you want. Kunos have talked about the history of their game and how they first wanted and how it evolved from there. I can't remember if it is in a video on Youtube or in a thread on the forum. But I'm interested in watching or reading it again myself now so hopefully I'll find time to find it again.

Hang on, I don't think this is the one I am thinking about but they say virtually the same thing at the start and I've just started watching it so for now I'll leave this here

None of that matters if it isn't accurate and if the cars don't drive in a believable way. At the moment PC2 isn't very good. Hopefully that will change after this update. At least the demo is improved a lot but I'm guessing if you don't like GT Sport and the update then you probably don't like the PCARS 2 demo and won't like the update that is coming as the demo is much easier to drive.

Can you go full throttle around every corner in the game? If so tell what your PSN is so I can watch your first place video in the leaderboards.

There was a hint of sarcasm in my comment, hence the smily face :)

Well... I tried to help you with it yesterday...

And the comment about a language warning still applies. Please don't ignore it.
I'm sorry about the language but if every race you entered in the FIA championships it was bugged every time you would vent your frustration because there no where to go for help from pd

the gr4 is way faster now... i drove last season at dragon trail a 1:47,3 and now? i drive 1:45,8 and iam a second behind the fastest...

i dont know what they have done... no chance right now with the porsche...

changing physics and tweaking cars was not a good idea... and leaving the overpowered cars like they where before...

Thats my other drive, and when i drive it fast on country roads the car gets really light and slippery as i push on.

So stop talking whack about grippy.

Grippy at 30 mph because thats how you drive well below tire threshold. So cool yourself about a sports audi TT is grippy, yet when my road car can be made to be slippery with road tires when driving hard.

Ok, to be fair it depends on suspension set up, and tire compound too. Also, are we talking regular TT vs TT-RS?

I have a B8.5 Audi RS5 (pic of my avatar), and let me tell you, it grips for days... well beyond 35 mph. Because of the characteristics of the car, I find you have to accelerate out of corners to get maximum benefit out of it. I'm running 20's (pirelli P-zero's).

To the people complaining about tires being more grippy now. Have you ever been on track day with sports tires and noticed how grippy sports tires actually are? Before this update sports tires were completely botched and offered grip levels of a banana peel. Now they are much more representative of sports tires in real life.

Also street tires are grippy on track. The pavement is different (abrasive, don't know the correct term for it), the the tire temperature will be different than on the road. (of course, tire pressure is crucial on track...higher temperatures mean higher pressure the tire... to much pressure, low grip, less contact area)

What you do in the privacy of your own home, and on Youtube, is nothing to do with us. It only becomes something to do with us when you post a Youtube video full of you swearing on here.

Just add a language warning before the video when you post it. That's all.

Clueless grrom?? PMSL

Go check my near 10 year post history (easy enough to do in my profile). GT Academy UK finalist, numerous top 10 time trial finishes in GT5/6, extensive real life kart/race/rally experience.

All I've seen from you is a picture of your hairdressers car.

None of the challenge gold requests were difficult. They were a moderate barrier for players to achieve.
So why do so few have the rival crusher trophy? When I got it back in late October, it was something like 0.3%. last I saw, it was still only around 2-3%.

And alternatively, if it was so easy, why make it even easier?

I'm all for making the sport tires more realistic if needed- I am pretty sure my real life car can take some turns faster than the supercars in GT Sport. I just don't see why they didn't just t leave it at that. Why increase the minimum times for challenges as well?

Have they fixed the non-linear pedals yet? That should actually be done before any of the physics changes. I'm guessing they're still not even aware of it...

Played a race this morning. Didn't notice much change in the physics (I was running M4 GT4 with TCS turned off so that's expected based on my understanding of the change log).
I'm really happy with the UI changes. Seeing the position changes between start and end of a race gives me a sense of accomplishment even though I only finished 9th.

It's kinda like this in every game. Get any game and have a look at the achievements. Any achievements that don't unlock automatically within the first 30 minutes of gameplay are pretty rare. People just like spending their money on games and not play them... I guess.

What are you so hung up on the connection indicator? From what I can tell, as long as you are Yellow or better there should be no problem.

People live all over the place and are different distances from servers. Each ISP routes differently and connections will vary with traffic.

I’m not sure what is causing your problems but it doesn’t seem like it’s connection.

Well for one thing that covers the endurance races, and maybe not many people can be bothered to replay them after getting bronze.

Mclaren F1 WFG winner RUDY VAN BUREN 3 days ago said console ain’t no sim.

Dunno what this comic grip levels is for but the game has lack of tires options in the REAL sim racing handling model
Who? Oh, the world's fastest gamer. Here's the F1 World CHAMPION on sims compared to Playstation games https://www.autosport.com/f1/news/124814/hamilton-simulators-no-better-than-games. Look at that, different opinions. Who you gonna trust? Even McLaren and Mercedes have sims that don't compare to the real thing. He says missing bumps, different feel from the speed, the grip etc.

When people can get past the fact that GT is not real life, I think they can enjoy the game a little more. Imo, this update is a step in the right direction. I'm glad I can't spin sport tires in a 130hp car anymore.

Is there any way to give PD direct feedback or do they just read the forums ?

There is still some stuff I wonder about, like why they removed the rotateable camera from chase view which was there in the beta.

It's also nice that you can change now the parameters of the sound. But I am missing the wind noise parameter.

"Though, there is one small caveat: an internet connection remains a requirement to save game progress."

Oh boy, I can see it now... people excited to play campaign mode offline, have a great time making progress and then shut down their PS4. Then they learn the hard way that playing offline does not equal saving offline. Why is it so hard to put game save data on the hard drive, then automatically sync with the servers at the next online connection/login?

If this has been discussed/sorted previously, please ignore... I searched and didn't find anything about this on the V1.06 update.

Or maybe there are lots of people like me that don't care about the trophies/achievements. I play my games, probably to much, and never check what trophies i still need. I play for personal enjoyment and satisfaction, that does not include focusing on a portion of the game i probably dont care for just for digital bragging.

Not meant as an insult to those who do care.

I stil get downgrades on my SR from being hit from behind or the side, wtf

Otherwise the driving improved a lot even though I still think the breaking is weird, especially downhill

@trustjab At the end, it's just a game m. Nothing more than that, and I'm sure the sim racing elite mindset harms the popularity of car games. I don't expect real life when I'm playing a videogame. Even the most expensive sim from Airbus can't simulate 1:1 real life.

Have you done anything to try and rectify it? Try different options and such?

Once it was in a lobby so I had to quit and restart the game but in the FIA race, I tried playing with the mode button (T300 not G29 here) and it didn’t do much so I tried to hold on and get used to it. It’s a random issue I had even prior to the update.

Yes... breaking sucks... i feel nothing.. i'm not confident on the breaks anymore and just losing a lot of time over that...

Yeah. I just registered to sat that I can't believe they haven't nerfed these stupid Herbies yet. They're like a disease. Can't believe anyone would want to drive one of those dreadful things even if it means they can win.

Also not sure what they've done with the penalties but I had a couple of cars crash in front of me just now, they both ghosted and I drove through with absolutely no contact at all and I got an orange SR deduction and a four second time penalty. If there were yellow flags I didn't see them and nor did I pass anyone except the ghosted cars. Very strange, unless it was a lag thing.

I'll check this out! Thanks!
I do know that the "nerfing" they do on cars just applies in BOP races, in single player, the cars are at full power, or less as the case may be
