Nope!
I can't play GT6 anymore. I have had to drop back to 5 as it's just not functional with my wheel. The wheel is continuously bouncing from left/to light even when slow stationary?

The currently played
F1 2011/12/13/14
grid 2/auto sport
Shift 2
GT5
GT6
Dirt/2/3
Sega Rally

And believe it or not, the knocking effect, cogging effect, oscillation and general obnoxiousness of the GT6 FFB / physics has caused me to go from enjoying the game, to now bring unplayable.

I have a CSW V2 and have had so since November/December time and while the wheel is outstanding. GT6 FFB in comparison to these others... Is ... Well... Laughable to say the least.

Really looking forward to getting home from work and downloading :)

Was really hoping for endurance races with B-Spec though. Maybe thats for a future update or endurance seasonals perhaps????

I hope so... I'm at 100%, and i have no motivation to do races i already did again.. I hoped they include 24h races where you can do some stints by yourself and then give the cockpit to bob... Right now B spec is pretty much useless for me.

Well, after doing two time trial laps in my trusty 156 and attempting to drift the AE86 on Midfield,
I think im gonna race some cars with my Pennzoil Skyline!....

....Holy 🤬 is that the Arch-Duke? CPU driving a 15th Anniversary car?

Just had time before work this morning to put in a couple of laps in the Mini VGT at Midfield, and B-spec a career mode race (since B-spec isn't in arcade!)

Mini is pretty good, though It'll suit tracks like the 'Ring more than Mid-field. Mid-field itself feels very familiar, which is nice, time change is morning till evening, rather than the full 24 hours, which is a little shame.

B-Spec, ummm, can't say if the AI is better or worse, but I will be using it for some of the Career races, since I only bothered to get to 50% in career mode beofre I had all the money I needed and just went off hot-lapping.

Didn't try paintable wings yet, but I shall be chroming up my Chappy 2XVGT later

edit: Mid-field in the mist and rain looks great!

Question: have you always been able to change custom dial colours from Quick Options in the pause menu? I swear I've never seen this before this update. I don't mean for the ones on the HUD, but the ones you can buy from GT Auto to add to your dashboard.

Also, am I the only person who gets literally 15fps or something in the MINI VGT Gallery View?

I've noticed two things since the update that no one has mentioned. Loading the main menu now takes an age, never used to be quite so bad, and my online room saves are gone. Where you open your own room and select load and then in "system storage" you will find your saved room settings, mine are all gone.

Since a few updates ago.

Seemed fine to me. Sometimes it's sluggish if it's taking a while to communicate with the servers or it's saving your game data.

Menu loading times didn't seem any different to me, and I was in a rush before work, so I'd have been chewing my wheel rim if they were any slower!

Maybe due to the servers being bogged down by all the people downloading new content, but loading all the online stuff is definitely taking at least twice as long for me now.

Edit. I tried to create a new room, for testing for an upcoming series, and it's been loading for about 5 minutes. Servers must be swamped.

Edit #2. ****ing gt6.... ps3 just did 3 beep shutdown, then didn't shutdown at all, completely locked up. Had to unplug it just to turn it off. Thanks pd, the update's working well...

Oh no....
MINI Vision GT hot lap at Brands Hatch: the sky is "laggy". V-sync off effect?

Your saved rooms will return after the update/maintenance period is over.

This happened to me last update and they eventually came back. It had removed my saved room presets and made the clubs i was in disappear too. They all came back

Cheers @Lock2Lock good to know it'll come back.

@Milouse I'm sure it's not the same for everybody, but I don't have any problems with any other game on my ps3. But in saying that, I've had numerous freezes and 3 beep shutdowns while playing gt6. Bare in mind, I rarely play games, only just turned the ps3 on to do this update (so no way the ps3 is too hot), I keep my ps3 well ventilated and clean, and only a couple of months back replaced the laser deck, so it's not a problem on the hardware side. Also, as I said, I've literally never had the same problems on other games.

Midfield Raceway is brilliant. It has...bumps and is simply fantastic to drive on.

Really? If this is true then I'll be a very happy chappy!

:D

Pretty disappointed overall. Was really looking forward to B-spec, assuming it would be like GT5 where it would have it's separate career mode. So it's kinda useless, especially since there aren't any real endurance races to pick from. I do however like the Real-time controls they give you. Hopefully that's improved upon in GT7.

As for the paintable rear wings, I kinda expected there to be an option to only paint the ends of them, as opposed to the entire wing.

Midfield is what stood out the most in this update. Haven't actually raced it before, but it kinda reminds me of a fantasy track you'd see on GRID Autosport mixed with that RR Racing Experience fantasy track you get for free.

Oh, and I haven't tried the Mini yet because I'd rather wait till I have the 200% login bonus for that, and the new seasonals.

All in all, I'd rather just have paid DLC at this point if it's going to be this lackluster... :indiff:

I just installed the update, lets try :D

Physics are OK. No need to try to improve them for a while.
They'd better focus more on the course maker and improving the sounds.

Anyone with a Gran Turismo 2 save on their PS3 has downloaded the update yet ? I'd like to know if there is really some kind of surprise or easter egg before dusting off my GT2 CD tonight.

YZF
Maybe you are not hardcore enough? (see my link few posts above)
That in itself says nothing about how good the driving physics are and there are not many occasions the cars will be driven flat out and reaching their maximum speed. In general, the physics are very good - this makes reference to the behaviour of the tyres, inertia, suspension mechanics, etc. If you have a valid point to raise about certain aspects of the physics, please do so in the appropriate place and don't use this thread as a vehicle for baseless and unsubstantiated claims or impotent complaining.

Midfield is still fantastic as usual. Did a couple of laps with the Pennzoil Nismo GT-R and I instantly fell in love with the track like I did with GT2. Great job, PD. 👍
