Oh wow, you have good cars...
Too late! I'm already on my last sip of Johnny Walker and I've loaded up my shotgun, ready to go. (Damn right I can type drunk!)
See you in hell, photonrider!
No, but really, is that an Escort Cosworth I see there?
Thanks! I'm working on the lighting and it was more the aperture than the focus.
I'd be interested in the Welly Trans Am with pullback action. I have the Camaro counterpart:
Gigantic post, but a very good one!
Got this nice little Hyundai today, not bad.
Thought you guys might like this.
Hello GTPers. I'm a little bit of a Hotwheels & Matchbox collector, and here are some of my best goodies................ Sorry for dark pictures by the way. I couldn't seem to find light.
.....................................................
My most prized car, Ford Mark IV
This one comes with a back story!
Every time I visited my father's mother (My grandmother) she would allow me to take home one of the toy cars that my father and his siblings used to play with. One of them, was this fantastic Ford Mark IV. On the bottom it says 1968! Wow such an old one. I'm thinking of getting it painted. Any suggestions?
@photonrider: Woah! Nice collection man! 👍
I have several of the MB Ford GTs: one in gold and black stripes, red and white, yellow and black and one with the Gulf livery(almost identical). And I got the R34 in blue, the TVR in a metallic dark blue that flows with the line smoothly. And I have quite a few cars similar to yours, but I love that Pagani Hyrusa ! Where did you get it from, and who made it?
!
I'll post some of mine later
um pleaseum i has a question.
Should I restore this
and should I use use paint thinner of the paint over it and what color should I use

Here's one of the customs I've finished. An army style '63 Studebaker Champ.

@M-Power: I know right? The TVR is a marvelous machine made by matchbox and you can find them(which can be rare sometimes) mostly in any store(I found mines at Wal-Mart), but keep a good eye out. And/or check eBay or amazon for one, trust me, it's a beauitful car to add in anyone collection!
M-Power - give it to me with BOTH barrels - FTW! Just give me a shot of Johnny, before the assful of buckshot, to dull the pain of seeing the mass amounts of loot that Cano keeps hauling out of eBay! Grrrrrr. . .
Also - Jeez! - the more I go over the collections in this thread, the more I realise how stupendous your collection is. Great work and keep posting all those acquisitions!
Okay . . . you can put the gun down now. (before I give you further bad news - it isn't a Cosworth.)
Neat bud. weird, but neat.
I like that army truck you got... I remember seeing that car in stock form at walmart and though it wa hideous. This painted version looks a LOT nicer Great stuff!
The crown of your collection, specially because its complete. Not every guy has redlines in his collection. They are called redlines because of the red lines in the tires, duh. They are the first models made by hot wheels (1968-1975 I think) and are very sought after. Google up to find more info.
Whatever you do, dont touch it. Restoring redlines in a proper way is very complex, difficult and pretty expensive too. Besides, it was your grandfathers. Keep it as is, dont destroy its history. Think that it was your grandpa who gave it its current shape, and for surviving that its something of a hero.
Youd be better off finding another one in better condition, the Mark V is one of the easiest redlines to come by in that color, and they are amongst the cheapest redlines you can buy. 10 -15 dollars should net you one in near mint condition in the same Spectraflame green color. Hit E-Bay and see for yerself.

I kinda just wanted to paint over it with a paint brush
- Drill rivets
- Pull apart
- Spray or soak with paint remover, wait.
- Wash completely with soap and water. (use rivet posts to hold it)
- Spray a couple coats of primer, lightly. Let dry.
- 2-3 coats of paint, lightly. Let dry for a few days.
- Reassemble.
I use something like this:
http://www.walmart.com/ip/Rust-Oleum-Aircraft-Remover-Aerosol/16652309
you can, but it will look like fried crap.
That's exactly what I've been doing and that's exactly what it's look like so far... Not using auto paint nor paint mad for die-cast models, just acrylic and gouache (since I'm so cheap)
Haven't had time to do it for the past 2 weeks, will finally get to continue tomorrow.
I asked what it was... not car model. Like Hotwheels, Matchbox, etc. You know? It's brand.
It's a Majorette Alpine A310 that I restored.
