I'm hoping they'll make it available to any car and then give you a leaderboard, but who knows with PD?

I want to take a Prius, drive it flat out, and then see what cars beat it. Top Gear did something similar when they had a Prius, driven flat out, being followed by an M3. The M3 got better economy as it was just cruising...
If manufacturers get picky over damage modeling etc I wonder how there going to feel about being portrayed as a big carbon footprint?

Fickle people these big company's.

If we're talking distance alone, I'll get something like a Prius or Insight and keep the revs as low as possible. If we're talking race speeds, well, my old CR-Z TC is returning, right? That thing was a brilliant little endurance racer. What it lost in the straights was made up in never having to pit.

But it would be using gas, as opposed to nothing at all.

Pulse and glide is the way to go, even better if you can turn off the engine.

This is GT - you can't - nor can you in real life - you would lose your steering and brakes for a start.

I have tried it all in real life so, no.

I would get the car up to say 30-40mph and put it in a higher gear and try and avoid using the brake to not have to accelerate again back up to speed. I am actually kinda looking forward to these

I'll probably use the jaguar xj x358 and have everything on.. while im driving ill be screamming

POWERRRRRR!!!!!

I know in my real life car [V8 Automatic] it gets best mileage at around 2k rpm in OD @ ~70mph so that would be the target for me.

Of course who knows how the game would handle fuel usage or what kind of car

You must not have done it in real life then, because it works.

You'll lose brakes after several pumps, but it's more than enough to stop, and you don't lose steering, it just gets heavier.

He means it will go into steering lock as soon as you switch off the engine. If you put your ignition key off and than on 2 again, you won't have that problem.

You can still steer with the key in the lowest position, just not when it's removed.

What about electric steering? lol - that would give you a headache.. we are talking about a game here after all lol

if these coffee breaks are like the coffee breaks in between licenses in GT4, we won't be able to choose the car.

the first try I will see how is the fuel consumption on the car they provide, then, I will drive like an old woman.

Actually, the challenge should be how fast we can use up the fuel. We are car enthusiasts people not Prius drivers, for petes sake.

but you know, racing drivers need to know how to manage tire, and related to this challenge, fuel consumption.

Find a fuel efficient car, keep it around 100km/h, find the optimal RPM range in the highest gear if possible.

Or just use the Veyron, floor it until it reaches the highest speed possible and then just cruise in neutral :D

I guess it depends on the track too. My thoughts are that it will be SSRX. If that's the case, the uphill section will be a bit of a challenge.
one liter in a veyron wouldnt last very long
