Nah the GT is sloppy already. Manthey is smooth and collected. Quality driving already, damn the traffic dodging was cool.
GT3 spec cars are actually quite comparable to a V8 Supercar, it's just that most, if not all, the Australian GT teams are privateers and gentlemen racers. And perhaps Nürburgring is a better circuit for the GT class car.
Here are some comparisons between Allan Simonsen's F430 GT3 and the lap records held by V8 Supercars:
Sandown
Symmons Plains
- V8 Supercar: 1'10.8
- F430 GT3: 1'11.5
Adelaide Street Circuit
- V8 Supercar: 0'52.0
- F430 GT3 (old engine): 0'52.6
Eastern Creek
- V8 Supercar: 1'22.4
- F430 GT3: 1'23.2
- V8 Supercar: 1'31.7
- F430 GT3: 1'31.5
I actually thought the same too, until I saw the Cup S which is currently running in the Australian GT. The Carrera Cup cars are no where near it, even when it had extra ballast.I thought the old Carrera Cup was GT3 spec, they were normally just a few sec behind V8 SCs. I think that V8 SCs should update their vehicles, move with the times.
Fantastic action, and first shout out to GTPlanet at 16.26 local time! (Or maybe GTiPlanet, i'm not entirely sure :S )

Also what's the name of the facebook group?
, and so ends the best battle I've seen in motorsports.
So they're roughly similar in pace then:tup:, that doesn't answer where the Holden is in-class now though. All I know is it's not top 16 (I can still only conclude that the Holden must have fairly slow drivers). For the record, live streaming doesn't work on my crappy connection.
EDIT: Do any Aussies know if it's on digital TV? Or if there will be a highlights show tomorrow or something?
You're telling me you've never seen Villeneuve VS Arnoux at Dijon?
Why can't anyone answer my questions?
