2010 Korean Grand Prix

Vettel will of course have to use used engines for the next two races... Webber put a fresh one in Yesterday - so as long as he didn't break it in his accident - then he should be good with less miles on it!!

Thank God Webber won't be crowned as an F1 World Champion! Keke is enough!!

Pity for Vettel.

Alonso great job as always,he deserves it.👍

Keep in mind that these guys have never even turned a lap at the track prior to a few days ago. You really have to know a track to be able to drive it in the rain.

Street circuit.

20 min practice

20 min qualifying

1st race Wheelspin at half throttle in 5th gear in a straight line

I finished 2nd.

Bravery is nowhere near what it used to be in F1. Look at Spa. Look at Monza. They're just a bunch of metrosexual, image conscious trend setting girls. Give me back the the pre millennium drivers anyday.

You were talking about track knowledge weren't you? And then you post this?!

1) What were you racing? Guessing it wasn't an F1 car

2) Where were you racing?

3) The course you were probably had settled so the rain didn't just stay on top of the track.

Of course the biggest question is, why are you still watching it?

Street race? Street cars? Dude, these cars have got 800 bhp. On rear wheels.

You're talking a load of nonsense.

Anyway, you want bravery in a sense of stupidness? Would you call Jackie Stewart a "metrosexual, image conscious, trend setting girls"? He was the first driver to really push for safety and help reduce deaths and bad accidents.

There are other racing sports that has pre-90's levels of F1 deaths if you want to see some "bravery" on the edge of stupidness.

The absolute ignorance of these two posts made me rage quit the forum.

A) A street track with 25 years worth of stone wear and oil pickup PLUS painted white lines PLUS no drainage is WAY more slippery and dangerous than a brand new track surface. Doubt that and I will call you and ignorant fool.

B) An F1 car will not wheelspin in a straight line at 240km/h because of DOWNFORCE

C)Street cars? Are you retarded?

D) The track after the red flag had no STANDING WATER. Spray has nothing to do with it. It's WET. That's what happens when it RAINS. Spray is part of a WET RACE.

E) Jackie Stewart was a pre 2000 driver. Read my post properly.

The course you were probably had settled so the rain didn't just stay on top of the track.

You think you get wheelspin in 5th gear on a non flooded track? I know for a fact you don't know what you're talking about and I seriously doubt you've been on a track in a decent car in your life based on (both of) your comments.

Regarding race: Jonathan Legard ruined it for me yet again. Shut the 🤬 up old man.

Done with this thread and most likely forum jesus christ

Wow that's an extremely early call, considering Red Bull have a clear performance advantage over Ferrari, and with 50 points still available to any driver.

I hope beyond all hope that Alonso does NOT win this years DC, and I'd preferably like to see it in dramatic heart-breaking circumstances, Ferrari a dirty cheats.

Ditto. It all comes down to Red Bull's reliability.

You didn't mention this in your post, I'm not psychic.

B) An F1 car will not wheelspin in a straight line at 240km/h because of DOWNFORCE

I doubt you were going that fast

C)Street cars? Are you retarded?

What were you driving?

Also, bordering the AUP isn't a good idea.

D) The track after the red flag had no STANDING WATER. Spray has nothing to do with it. It's WET. That's what happens when it RAINS. Spray is part of a WET RACE.p

Than what were they aiming for?

There were visible puddles(i.e. standing water) even in the closing laps.

You're right, I haven't, you haven't proven you have either.

Also, again with the AUP, you shouldn't say "fact" unless it true.

You need to BE THERE to be lucky. And Alonso sure was there. ZERO mistakes (not the case with Hamilton and obviously Webber), no bad luck (not the case with Vettel, feel sorry for the guy).

I guess we're in for a final battle between Webber and Alonso. And, bar mechanical problems, Alonso looks the stronger of the two now.

Sorry to break it to you Mark, but you do not have a CLEAR performance advantage over Ferrari  Abu Dhabi will likely be a track where the Ferrari will work quite well and be very competitive. Brazil is a bit of an unknown IMO (not to mention the weather there is quite unpredictable).

Also as far as Ferrari being dirty cheats, it should be interesting to see how you and the team deal with things if Vettel manages to outqualify you at the next race and possibly at Abu Dhabi as well (if you're still ahead of Vettel in the DC by then). I wonder if your team will resort to dirty cheating tactics (obvious or not) to get you ahead of him to GIVE you a better shot at the title :P

I agree, Vettel has a lot of chances. Ham also is in it...

Obviously...then...maybe Webber can nail second in the driver's...

If Alonso gets 50 points - he will win the WDC.
If Webber gets 50 points - he will win the WDC.
If Hamilton gets 50 points - he *might* win the WDC - the only person he could lose to is Alonso (Alonso needs to stay on the podium for both races).
If Vettel gets 50 points - he *could* win the WDC.
If Button gets 50 points - he'd be lucky to win the WDC.

If Massa gets 50 points - then... it will be very interesting!!
(As we have to assume that Alonso at best gets two 3rd points = 30 points.)
If Webber gets the two 2nd places that's 36 points so Alonso wins.

For christ sakes, this is Formula 1 racing - not who is the most likeable guy competition (in which Button & Webber would win according to most Brits).

Of course not, but Piket is acting like Webber ran over his dog or something.

One reference to a likeable guy and all of a sudden it's the most likeable guy competition?

In which case I apologise for dicussing how and why people support certain F1 drivers in an F1 thread.

May I ask why you have a personal dislike for Webber? :odd:

You didn't ask me but I can give you some probable reasons why

1. He doesn't think ahead. Fights too much to hold a position. He'd be close to sealing the championship this year if he didn't fight so much.
2. He, just like Button lucked into the position to get into a championship winning position.
3. He has never done anything to deserve #2. Having a mediocre car for x amount of years like Button did doesn't mean you deserve to luck into a title.

I have a personal dislike for incompetent,high-flying,back-flipping,punting, dry-only drivers...Nothing personal with Mark.:)

P.S. When it's raining does he leave his house for cigarettes or he sends his wife? Or maybe he waits a few years...

Number 2 & 3 is what I think Piket was getting at  And also a reason why I could care less if Webber doesn't win the title this year. Just a case of "it was never meant to be" I guess you could say.

In which case niether has any other driver in the last 15 years. If you have money you can begin to go motor racing, they are born into money or come into it through no effort of their own therefore there are probably about 5 worthy champions. That's how deep you can go into it. Hamilton and Vettel are children of corporations, as are many others. The rest had money.

Piket - Consistency is not a bad thing and doesn't mean Keke didn't deserve a title if no one else grabbed it by the horns....

The way I see it, if a driver scores enough points to win the championship, it's good enough for me - regardless of whether he "deserves" it or not.

Of course it would be better if FIA would ditch the points system completely and instead let GTP users decide the winner with a poll...

The Brawn of last year and this year's Red Bull have been far more superior than any other car in the last years. Neither Webber nor Button would have won the WDR in a McLaren 2008, a Ferrari in 2007 or a Renault in 2005-06. Those cars where not as superior as their contenders and Webber and Button are simply not good enough to win in a car that is not so much better than the rest.
