2011 Australian Grand Prix

Vettel has done a 1:23:5????? I am simply amazed.

And also, is it just me, or are some viewers here quite a few minutes behind the action? Cause here it's more than halfway past Q3.

That Sutil spin was impressive.

C-ZETA you're seemingly ahead of the rest of us. I wish I hadn't read that spoiler. It isn't very surprising though.

I'm guessing it comes down to your location.

Great save by Sutil.

Yeah, I'm in the good old UK, where as the majority of people are in the US of A. And I can tell you that someone has got pole. Not spoiling it for you! Though it'll be quite obvious I hope... :boggled:

Vetel didnt use his Kers on that 2nd lap... yet was only .07 off his pole time.

I win 👍

Massa and Webber look like being the bridesmades all over again. Good work by Petrov, what could Kubica have done with that car....

Also, I seem to like Vettel less and less everytime he opens his mouth. "Good job. We are who we are". :indiff:

Liuzzi?

Someone got pole!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! That's unheard of.

.....a drinks team.

Nico making it doesn't make him look good at all.

Also, perhaps Massa was just saving his stuff for Q3?

Tell me about it, it's still only the first race of the season and he says the tires were gone during lap 2. As for Massa, I surely hope so.

If it isn't Mark, I just do not care.

I was hoping Schumi would pull to Q3, but he didn't make it.

It did look like he was on the edge of grip all around the track though? Tires and maybe a greasy track??

He was close, 0.078s, but yea, outpaced by Rosberg again :grumpy:

I'm worried that the season will be very uninteresting. It's not particularly funny to watch one car winning absolutely everything.

Have to love the commentators on the tyres:

"He's out on hards, they must be on a different strategy for the race! Oh wait, is that the soft option. I think it is! oh...it all worked better last year with the stripe. This year the the tyre is shiny so the body colour reflects off the tyre!".

Ahh of course. It's in response to Lewis H. saying Red Bull doesn't have any history in the sport and won't be able to compete with McLaren and Ferrari in the long run. Good on him i.m.o.

I think Vettel's been listening too much to Kesha's We R Who We R

They should use that song in the post-quali or post-race credits if a Red Bull wins

A bit of history for you...

The last Williams designed by current Red Bull technical chief Adrian Newey was the 1997 car. Melbourne was also the first race that year and Jacques Villeneuve put it on pole by 1.8 seconds, from his team-mate Heinz-Harald Frentzen. Michael Schumacher's Ferrari was third - 2.1secs off the pace. And yet it was an incredibly close season that went down to the wire in the last race between Villeneuve and Schumacher. So although Vettel appears in a league of their own this weekend, that does not necessarily mean it will be like that all year.

I know. I was just poking fun of every team, including McLaren, that is being beaten by a drinks team.

Vettel's dad was just shown on screen with a very surprised look on his face.

Vettel on pole - surprise, surprise.

Incredibly quick but I'm not buying any of it until I see him race in a crowd, and not overcompensate and end up crashing into something or someone.

EDIT: What the hell does Vettel keep looking at!?
