2011 Australian Grand Prix

Great season opener.
A lot of close battles throughout the race.

I just wish the F1.com live timing app worked.
Disappointing they did not account for so much traffic.

One stop for Perez is amazing. Either he is a master of looking after rubber, or that Sauber is a very sorted chassis.

It seems to work fine for the fastest lap, but not for the actual positions.

Why not both? :sly:

Shame Hulkenberg doesn't have a seat this year. Had a bit of an ego trip, he did....

So who here (on the East coast) will watch the Malaysian GP live at 4am? :yuck:

I may.

Possibly. I might just catch up as soon as I get up. I stayed up tonight, but 4-6 is just insane for a Sunday.

I may.

I'll be up. Won't be the first time I've caught a race at 3 in the morning...

...definitely won't be the last either.

I knew Perez was a good driver, I've foloowed trough his careers at GP3 and 2, but I am amazed by his first result, and above all by how smoothly he drove in one freaking set of tires. Looks like it's time to follow F1 again.

Oh what a race... what a race! Congrats Vettel on the dominating win, but the drive of the day has to go to Petrov and Perez. Both did incredibly well to finish where they are (Petrov in 3rd, and Perez in 7th on his debut!) as well as the Lotus name being on the podium after a long period of time. Sadly it can't be said for the Mercedes GP team and Team Lotus... :indiff:

Oh, and I can't wait for the Malaysian GP to come by in 2 weeks time! :D

I seriously thought the announcement was to do with Senna's movie. :grumpy:

Speed's coverage was rubbish with all the interruptions and commercials.

F1 app worked fine here. I'm using a Droid btw.

That did seem like quite a few more commercials than normal. Especially so for a program that airs from 12:30-3am........locally that is.

I'm also really tired of seeing this sportsmanship basketball commercial. I don't need commercials to teach me good values.

Also, this whole DRS thing is a bunch of bull.

There were some battles it came in handy for the trailing driver.
It also highlighted the need to conserve KERS for the straight if you are the leading driver.

Nice dynamic play. Interesting to watch. Exactly what Bernie wanted.
