2011 German Grand Prix

Well they only heat them to 100C in the blankets, then they sit in the pit lane for a few seconds, then they drive all the way down the pit lane. So all in all they probably have about 20-25 seconds of little to no temp being put into them.

Mmhhh, I guess that makes sense, being open wheels and all.

Aahghh, another tech problem for McLaren?? Hamilton somethong regarding his flappy paddle.

Sutil might finish 6th to replace Button among the 'big 6'. That'd be a great success for the Germans! :D Vettel's still disappointing, though... :(

Mmhhh, Vettel is starting up his usual A-game, he is 5th now, attempting to take Massa's 4th.

Not good..... Hehege

Apparently Hamilton is complaining about his clutch... But he is still holding Alonso off by three seconds... Though that lead is coming down as the Ferrari starts to warm up its tires.

Rosberg makes it look easy on Kobayashi... Vettel on Massa, but can't make it stick...

Wha?? How did Alonso end up with cold tires? Are not pit crews responsible to insure to that the tires they install are warm?

Tyres working temps are >150c, they heat them to 60c in the blankets.

EDIT: Tree'd by everyone because I forgot to refresh the page before posting :dunce:

Hamilton's now 3.5 ahead of Alonso and 8.8 ahead of Webber. This is his. :D

Vettel makes another mistake AGAIN...

Woooooo, with 3 second difference, Hamilton's last pit will be if littlest consequence. ^^

Not really... Hamilton will have to stretch this stint as long as possible, because the hard tires suck... And if he pits right before the rain starts, that's the race down the drain...

How many times will Schumacher have to try to take Petrov? Finally makes it stick... Hamilton is about to lap Petrov and Schumacher, though.

Hamilton will win.
Oh well, i need another man ontop of the podium and at least more points for Vettel.

Replays show Heidfeld going backwards through the gravel trap one handed...
Those Renaults love to fly.

Vettel has the fastest lap... Massa might be in danger here, but I doubt Vettel can make anything stick... Massa has been driving an exemplary race. Vettel will want that fourth place from Massa... And Massa is starting to feel the pressure.

Petrov on the harder tires is still on pace. Looks like the track has rubbered in fully. We might start seeing some of the leaders come in for their last set, soon. We do only have nine laps left... Hamilton first.

Seems like there's gonna be late pitstops going on...front three still haven't been on primes yet I believe...

Hammy pits, Ferrari to respond to them no they're not, he's staying out. :mischievous:

For one lap. :indiff:

Webber gets the longest run of the lot.

Hammy's out in front.

Terrible call by McLaren? Or maybe not... Alonso lost a little time on the last lap... Now into the pits. I'm betting Alonso may come out ahead of Hamilton...

Aaaaand... He doesn't! Good job, McLaren...

LOL, Hamilton has knowledge of the tyres now, its Lewis's too lose now. Come on LH!

Vettel still haven't use that silver tyre so does Webber....i'm afraid they'll pit at the same time and trigger that intra-team rivalry saga again. :P

Vettel must be getting mighty pissed sitting on Massa's tail. Neither have gone on primes yet...

Webber is losing time to Hamilton... He ought to pit now, to keep from losing places to Alonso...

Team orders for Vettel... "Massa is in front of you, do you understand?"
