I just wondered how they got in.

If you found my excellent post to be tl;dr, then basically, it's because those clubs were knocking about when the leagues were formed.

Wales didn't get its own national league until 1992. Honestly.

I got to say, it's a dark, dark day to be a South Wales Police officer when the derby games are on. At least they'll get two guaranteed days overtime a year.

Gotta say, I am one of those people who thinks it should be the ENGLISH Premier League but ah well.

Hope United win tonight, would love to win the title when they play Arsenal later this month :)

We also have a preview of the FA cup final tonight which should be interesting as usually Wigan become the best team in the league at this stage of the season
The only thing English about the Premier League is the name. The players, the money and the majority of fans (due to global tv) are, by the by, not.

And no English manager has won it. And it doesn't look like one will for a very long time.

I knew it would be z tough game against West Ham, always is when you only have 2 days between games. That said there were two big mistakes, 1 Carroll should have been sent off and 2 Van Persies goal was off-side. Doesn't have too much impact on what we need to do to win the league though, 2 wins and 1 draw.

Pretty much could have said the same last season though, and look who ended up lifting the trophy.
Last season we threw it away, yesterday was always going to be tough because we played only 2 days before. Credit to West Ham though, they played really well and deserved a point. We've just gone from needing 2 wins to now needing 2 wins and a draw, it's no big deal.

I did read it. Was just replying to the other guy 👍

2013/14 Chelsea Home Kit

My opinion as a Chelsea Supporter. :yuck: This years looks so nice. That Gold/Silver Line and text effect looks so nice with the Blue.

Was not impressed with last night performance...we have been coasting ever since our lead went into double figures :indiff:

Chelsea's new kit could do much better without so much navy blue on the sleeves and collar, but other than that, it's pretty sweet. I have always liked Chelsea's color and badge, ever since I have known them.

So the PFA announced the player and young player of the year nominees earlier and here they are..

PLAYER OF THE YEAR

Bale
Van Persie
Hazard
Carrick
Mata
Suarez

YOUNG PLAYER OF THE YEAR

Benteke
Lukaku
Welbeck
Wilshire
Bale
Hazard

I wonder what the odds are for Bale to win both?!...

I'd probably pick Mata, or Carrick. Mata cause anyone who's watched Chelsea vs someone has seen what an influence he can make if he is subbed on or similar. Carrick because he's taken over the role of backbone at Utd, used to be Scholes, now Carrick is firmly in that role.

We have a chant about that. "It's Carrick, you know. Hard to believe it's not Scholes.

Anyway, I'd vote for either Carrick or Hazard and Benteke or Lukaku for young player.

Bale for both, Carrick is over rated despite every english pundit saying otherwise.

I also don't see how Lukaku or Benteke could win the Young one, Bale, a midfielder has got more goals than both of them.

Welbeck has 1 goal. But he's an English player that plays for United so he's on the list anyway. 👍

The only one on both lists that i disagree with is Welbeck and thats coming from a United fan...also a bit disappointed that Michu misses out for the main award but i think all 6 deserved to be nominated...

I don't know why Rafael isn't on the list instead of Welbexk, it's between him, Carrick and Van Persie for Uniteds player of the season in my opionion.

Go back ten matches and RVP for player of the year. But then recent matches are such a big black mark against his name.

He seems to be back on form at the minute with 2 goals in his last 2 matches. But @ Dave A, that's a tough decision actually. De Gea has also been very good this year pulling off some amazing saves. I think I would probably say Carrick due to the Central Midfield role he has been lumbered with and how well he has not only coped with it but become one of the best Central Midfield players in the Premier League

Watch Lukaku play and you'll know why. He literally terrifies defenders with how big he is.

I was surprised to see De Gea missing from the list. He's been pretty consistent all season and has had some insane saves to really save United from dropping 2 points or more at times.

Bad day for the Bottom three today, they all lost and teams above them either won or drew...Wigan can probably get out of it but i think Reading and QPR are down now...

De Gea is a good shout, he's been very good this season I just hadn't thought of him.

Yeah, goalkeepers tend to be overlooked sometimes as no one really notices them. I don't know if we'll still look for another keeper in the summer as De Gea is still young (21?) and improving all the time. To look at him at the end of last season and now, he has come so far.

To the games today (and tomorrow), it seems that QPR and Reading are both down now with them both losing. The highlight of the day for me was Sunderland beating Everton. Paulo Di Canio seems to have turned Sunderland around. So onto tomorrow, I can see Chelsea beating Liverpool as Liverpool's last 2 matches have both been draws and Chelsea's confidence has been boosted by that midweek win with a spectacular David Luiz goal. If Spurs beat Man City and Man Utd win against Aston Villa, United are Champions. Personally, I can see it happening as Bale is back for Spurs and City's midweek win against Wigan wasn't really convincing.

EDIT: COME ON SPURS! 3-1 up thanks to 3 fantastic goals from Dempsey and Defoe and Bale
