Heres what 0.001 seconds looks like, by the way.

No time for anything these days... Barely watched the end of MotoGP over lunch.

Yes Bautista deserves a penalty, even if it was an honest mistake.

On the positive side, I'm off to an oil change and a riverside drive on my '99 Hornet 600 :D

Looking for future reruns of the races to record and watch later...

No way! It was simply a racing incident. Accidents happen, Lorenzo was unfortunate to be taken out as well but these things happen.

Lorenzo is a big boy, he'll get over it

I missed all three races :grumpy:. Hopefully I can catch repeats tomorrow at least of Moto3.

Just watching a replay of the Moto2 race with the world feed commentary. I have to say it was very distasteful when the camera cut to Espargaro lying down in the gravel and one of the commentators said "Has there been another incident between the two Spanish riders" without even having seen the incident. 👎

"Very distasteful"? How so? Espargaro and Marquez have a history of coming together on track, and when the crash took place, the world feed was watching replays of the start. Given how competitive the Moto2 field it, it is entirely plausible that Marquez made his way past Aegerter and made a move on Espargaro that ended badly for Pol in the time it took to go over the replays.

Quite simply, I found it distasteful as they jumped to conclusions. While what you have suggested is possible, it's also entirely possible that he collided with someone else or just threw it off the road, which is a very common occurrence in Motorcycle racing. It would be like watching the F1, seeing Lewis in the barriers and hearing the commentator say "Did Lewis crash with Maldonado"?

Quite frankly, I'd rather not listen to commentary that makes assumptions like that.

To be fair, this season you automatically assume Marc knocked someone off
Does anyone think Ben Spies stands a chance of keeping his job for next year? At a track he won at comfortably last year, and the satellite bike beats him to the podium. No excuses from my point of view.

Just caught the end of the MotoGP and saw Stoner gravel it on the last corner. Title race is wide open now with Pedrosa second in the standings!

To be honest, as soon as I saw him on his feet, I cheered a little. After the way Lorenzo had such an advantage taken away in Assen, it was nice to see Stoner make a mistake and let the title race get a bit tighter.

I know what you mean. First I was worried but as soon as he landed on his feet I thought "hum, how interesting" :sly:

Spies... I don't know anymore...

I dont really agree. I feel Lorenzo would have won the title anyway, the season he is having. All of the practice sessions pointed to a Honda runaway and that's how it proved. Now Jorge has a lead, albeit a slender one, I just think it will grow and grow. All my opinion of course, so it will no doubt be completely incorrect.

Lorenzo is just that little bit more consistent and clever in the race, he's like Dovi but quicker.

Really hard to tell what's going on

He's stepped it up and out qualified Lorenzo 2 out of the last 3 races but the race pace has not been there, though finishing 6 seconds behind Lorezno is an improvement.

His team director mentioned something about having to suddenly go with the hardest tire for the race which hurt their pace. Im not sure what that means. Still plenty of time to turn it around but it's confusing why he's losing to guys like Dovizioso, guys he use to beat easily

To all the people that think Spies will be moving back to Tech 3 next year, don't forget that Bradley Smith has a contract for 2013.

As a Brit I like seeing some British riders in Moto GP but come on, look at all the talent in Moto2 (Iannone, Luthi, Marquez, Redding, Espargaro) and the current Yam riders aren't doing much wrong.

Spies may move back to tech 3, in a straight swap with Dovi and Cal to Ducati. I believe Julian Ryder mentioned that Bradl has a 2 year contract with LCR so that may be one less option for Repsol.

What a waste of a seat that's going to be. He is highly overrated and full of excuses.

Cal to Ducati.

Why would he want that? As far as I can see, he's got a far better bike at the moment.

I agree but the contract is on the table waiting for him to sign it. In all honesty he looks the best suited to it out of everyone, he has a very aggressive style much like Stoner.

Well, Rossi looked very keen to quit Ducati and suddenly after some talks with the new owners he says they can count on him. Maybe they're gonna make a good leap next year. But still a risk to go there...

Cal said that we will never be world champion on a satellite bike and if Audi transform Ducati next year, who knows he might have the best bike on the grid.

There are fundamental problems at Ducati. Throwing more money at it is not necessarily going to improve things. The Desmodeci just keeps getting worse each year. It's really a dead end, development wise. The only was Ducati are going to have any success is to start over again from scratch. All strictly my opinion of course. He may not be a world champion on a satellite bike, but at least he's able to get podiums on it. Other than the odd bit of luck, that won't happen on a Ducati.

I think MotoGP bikes are way off what they have the potential to be, I'm certain last year Lorenzo went back to the design of his 2010 bike because it was faster. I couldn't imagine an F1 team doing something like that. I wouldn't be surprised if Audi come in with all their racing experience, overhaul Ducati and produce the fastest bike out there. I hope so anyway because I want to see Rossi and Cal a bit further up next year. :)

Thing is, Ducati may or is likely to improve. Revolutionary engine, chassis etc But it will take at least yet another year. Current ride allows him good results in the near future.
