Stoner is always calling someone a hypocrite but despite his race interviews (which have got worse since he meet that wife of his), he is an all out sideways rider and I wouldn't mind seeing him throw down in MotoGp still. Other than that you guys are all right about is attitude and comments!

Stoner reinforcing my opinion that he is an absolute clown who will take any opportunity to have a dig at Rossi. Rossi has a closer bond with Yamaha than he will ever have with Ducati and any racer who doesn't chase victory over anything else is no longer a true racer.

The reason fans forgive Rossi is that he is genuine. He rarely moans, or spouts BS about other riders, he just does his job to the best of his ability. Who can stay mad at a true sportsman?

Stoner, I cannot wait for you to leave the MotoGP paddock and hopefully never reappear in any other motorsport discipline.

Other than that you guys are all right about is attitude and comments!

So you are saying Stoner looks like a clown?

Now I'm sorry but Rossi looks more like a clown then Stoner

Ok so I know lots of rumours flying about will he won't he but word from Italy is its official. Rossi will be in white and blue next year (with a dash of yellow)!

Pardon me if I sound sceptical, but you said this a week ago:

I've just heard that tomorrow VR is going to announced for a return to Yamaha while Cal is on his way to Ducati. From a reliable source.

Yes... I know that :) okay maybe when tomorrow was said it was a bit off the mark. It will come to light soon enough I guess. :)

Interested to see if there could be a place for Jonny Rea in MotoGP next year. I know HRC are keen to get him in, there just hasn't been a suitable time yet. He impressed them when he tested Stoners bike and winning at Suzuka 8hours last week certainly will have helped his cause.

We don't call him Casey Moaner for no reason.. When he wins more championships than Rossi, then I might start listening to him. Rossi will go down as one of, if not the greatest rider of all time and it'll be hard to knock him off the top.

Casey needs to keep his opinions to himself and let his riding do the talking, we know he is capable and very talented but rossi's record speaks for itself

So Nial Mackenzie has spotted VR ar Yamaha's european HQ today. He was there sorting out a deal for his son Tarran. I guess nothing is official until it's announced. Waiting to be quized like I was on my earlier post..

Indeed, since Rossi could just as easily have been there to tell Yamaha where to stick their offer.

Big words... for a quitter.

I respect Stoner leaving. I've always respected and loved him on track. But when he opens his mouth...

👍.

Maybe Stoner should concentrate more on not finishing 3rd this year then opining on what other riders are or aren't doing.

Did you guys even read my previous post?
Well read it now... :
Hmmm... I don't know about the Malboro Yamaha thing... I heard somewhere that it was maybe going to be Monster (Vale's personal sponsor), besides if Malboro leaves Ducati I'd be surprised... Ducati is linked to Ferrari F1... See where I'm going with this?
Now Rossi said "money not important for decision", but I personally think he should stay at Ducati... I mean he has less pressure to win there, because if he lines up with Lorenzo he will get beaten 90% of the time, now I'm a big Rossi fan and a Lorenzo hater... But let's face it... After he fell in 2010, the real Vale never really came back... And on top of it he's 33, riders last until 36 more or less, it's not like in F1 where you have a 43 year old that can still be pretty competitive...

Besides let's look at the context shall we :
"Rossi will earn more money at Ducati, even if he claims reports of an annual salary of 17 million euros for a contract extension are inflated. It has been widely reported that Yamaha - which just shelled out a pretty piece of change to lead rider Lorenzo for his new contract - probably only would pay Rossi between 3 and 5 million euros per season. And Rossi would need to bring personal sponsor Monster to Yamaha to help cover his tab. That shouldn't be a problem since the global popularity of Rossi helps him attract sponsors like ants to a piece of hard candy dropped on the tarmac on a hot day.

Plus it's rumored that Yamaha won't pay for Rossi's crew, led by the legendary and presumably high-priced Jeremy Burgess. Rossi's mechanical marvels have followed him from Honda to Yamaha to Ducati, so one would assume he wants to keep that team intact. Rossi might need to dip deep into his own pockets to make that happen."

Now looks to me like Yamaha are acting like total BlTCHES, and that Vale is better of staying with the money and that means staying with Ducati

Any different opinions about this?.... Here come the feedbacks... :D

Oh I'm sorry. I didn't realize people were obligated to respond to your post.

Could we expect an announcement tomorrow or at least the weekend of Indy?

Could be one or the other. If nothing's announced tomorrow, then definitely before Indy.

Ducati confirms Valentino Rossi's departure at the end of the 2012 season

Ducati has confirmed Valentino Rossi will be leaving the team at the end of the 2012 season, ending weeks of speculation about the Italian's future.

Rossi joined the manufacturer from Yamaha at the start of the 2011 season, in a partnership seen as something of a dream team for the Italians.

However, the Italian rider struggled to be competitive on the Ducati, having failed to win a race and has scored just two podium finishes over the past two seasons.

Rossi is currently in eighth place in the standings and recently admitted he was struggling with his motivation given the bike's performance.

On Friday, Ducati confirmed Rossi, whose contract expires at the end of 2012, will be parting company with the team.

The seven-time champion is believed to be on his way back to Yamaha to partner Jorge Lorenzo again, with an announcement expected later today.

Ducati has Nicky Hayden as its only confirmed rider for the 2013 season.

Never seen that coming:lol:

Next season can't come fast enough. Pity Stoner calling it quits.

It's very much official now:

Lin Jarvis, Managing Director, Yamaha Motor Racing
"This announcement is once again excellent news for Yamaha. In June we were able to sign Jorge Lorenzo for the 2013-14 campaign and now we are able to confirm Valentino Rossi for the next two years. In doing so we have been able to put together the strongest possible team to challenge for victories and to promote the Yamaha brand.

We have run this ‘super team’ together in 2008, 2009 and 2010 and during that time we achieved the ‘triple crown’ titles with Rider, Manufacturer and Team World Championship victories for three consecutive years.

The target for the future is obvious and we will do our utmost to achieve our goals.

I have no doubt that with the experience, knowledge, skills and speed of these two great champion riders we will be able to challenge for many race wins and for the 2013 & 2014 World Championship titles.

The signing of Valentino completes our future planning for the Yamaha Factory Racing MotoGP Team. Now that this is done we will put our 100% efforts into completing the job at hand and to supporting Ben Spies and Jorge Lorenzo in their search for race victories and for Jorge’s 2012 World Championship title challenge."

I wonder if Jorge and Valentino have mellowed in their attitudes to each other. I kind of feel sorry for Hayden, having pinned his tail to the Ducati donkey for yet more years. He is destined to become the next Colin Edwards.

Rossi has said that he considers Lorenzo to be the best rider on the grid at the moment, so they must have buried the hatchet somewhere, somehow.

Good news for Rossi and the sport as a whole.

As per Mike Rotch, do feel sorry for Hayden, he is a very good rider unlikely to ever shine on the Ducati unless of course they can sort themselves out but I see it as unlikely.

Looking forward to the 2013 season more than ever!!

I sure hope Cal Crutchlow doesn't go on the free Ducati, either Scott Redding or Iannone would be better. But unfortunately, there's not enough room on the grid to give Cal and Dovi the good rides they deserve.

Me either but Ducati are apparently considering using their Satellite bikes to set-up a "B-Team" to aid new-comers consider it what Toro Rosso is to Red Bull. Pramac and Cardion are unsatisfied with the GP12 which leads me to believe that they'll either run CRT's or leave the sport as they'll be out of options to run a Prototype if Ducati do decide to run the B-Team.

Also, I assume that Rossi will be bringing Burgess and other personnel with him back to Yamaha? I'm stoked for him though, it'll be nice to see what he can do on a competitive bike once more.

I don't know... Hayden might be more "compatible" with it, and now that Rossi is gone, they'll tailor it more to his liking. May be just wishful thinking of mine but I believe we'll see him more in the top spots next year.

They were making it for Hayden before Rossi showed up and its hardly worked. Although as Tom said, a B-team would benefit them no end. A big key to Yamaha's success is having the tech 3s so close to the factory bikes in terms of development. Its just having more data to work with the same way Suter are up there all the while in Moto 2.

I think this will be a bigger challenge for Rossi than taking on Ducati. He's not only got to prove to the doubters that he still has what it takes to win (therefore proving the Ducati stint was a one-off), but that he can at least give Lorenzo a fair fight on the same machinery.

While it's a shame that nothing ultimately came of the partnership, at least they had a go at it, even if it was a big risk to take. How does the saying go?: "It is hard to fail, but it is worse never to have tried to succeed".

No the 2012 Ducatti are made for Rossi, specialy for him.

I'm glad he's going back to Yamaha because I'm a Vale fan, but I honestly think that he'll struggle even more there, he'll be in better position for sure but he will be far from Lorenzo. I doubt he still have the speeds for MotoGP honestly, I hope I'll be proven wrong.

Really? because Stoner was the number one rider for all the years he was there. Even then Stoner said Ducati never listened to his development requests. When Stoner left Rossi arrived and he was number 1 rider. Nicky is fighting a sinking ship to be honest.
