Wow, looks like a pretty brutal quali for all classes.

Moto2 was spared any big crashes - Pol, Marquez, Crazy Joe on the front row.

I saw Barbera's practice crash (high side which threw him over the front of the bike) which has ruled him out with fractured vertebrae :scared:. Looked eerily like Rainey's one, prelim scans have ruled out neurological damage.

Ouch...

Let's see tomorrow. I fear that even with soft tyres we may see more mayhem, especially when they start to wear out.

Even moto3 bikes were being caught by sudden loss of grip.

With all that mayhem I wish I was home to see the tape! Its funny Some of Stoners biggest crashes are coming in this final year of his. MotoGp might take him out before he can quit!

Lets hope not. I would like it if he could win the championship on his way out.

Spies is far from OK, his shoulder is tore up pretty bad. A real shame. Apparently he was half a second under Pedrosa's time when he crashed. What a nightmare season this has been.

Not sure 'funny' is the right word, nobody likes to see a rider get hurt. Guys coming off the MotoGP bikes though, unless its a front wheel slide, are getting hurt more often then not on these new bikes.

So Stoner has been given the green light to race, whether he will or not is a different matter.

He's on track for the warmup. Wearing a different (bigger, black) right boot. Currently 4th. I reckon he's gonna give it a go later! 👍

Ended 6th. After Spies, Pedrosa, Lorenzo, Crutchlow and Dovi.

Spies' engine let go. There's something you don't see every say. Gutted for him though. :(

That's the second race he's really trying and the bike fails... Karma? :D

Anyway, as soon as I saw the first laps, I knew Asimo was gonna ride into the sunset.

I think he meant funny as in weird, rather than funny as in making you laugh.

That was bad phrasing on my part I did mean weird (Thankz PrisonerM). I'm a Dirt & Street rider my-self that knows 1st hand what going down feels like on a number of occasions and would never laugh at the fact of a man going down just to be clear. 👍

Gutting you guys say?
Check out the Ben Vs Yamaha article on the speed app if you have it?

According to Spies, Yamaha does not allow him to setup the bike the way he wants. They only let him make changes to the bike Lorenzo likes to see if it would help their #1. He's basically a glorified test rider. And it looks like they even have him test experimental equipment, which is probably lightweight and fragile, which makes sense after seeing all the failures he's had this year.

Who would give 100% when being treated like that? It wouldn't surprise me if Yamaha was afraid Spies was going to take points away from Lorenzo at Indianapolis so they insured his engine wouldn't last the distance.

Of course. An American has an engine failure at Indianapolis and his team did it on purpose. I'm beginning to question whether you actually like racing. You go on your little crusade for safety, (with a fictional car being your main supporting "evidence") act like no on else cares and then complain that the season is too long.

I don't know kind of makes sense that all malfunctions are happening on his side of the garage. I guess we'll see what happens to Rossi?

Just about every racer I've ever followed has had a bad season at some point. At the end of the day Lorenzo has more than 3 times the points that Spies has and Lorenzo hasn't had a perfect season.

I agree with the first bit, to an extent, that's why he's not been pushing.

The second half... Not gonna endeavour on a conspiracy theory. Not yet, at least.

It's been confirmed by Ducati that Hayden will miss Brno and will not be replaced.

Yup. A step back for Dovi, but with the way Honda dropped him, I can't blame him for wanting stability. If Ducati actually manage to turn things around, he'll be in a good place. I have my doubts though.

Well we know that Hayden can develop a bike but the limelight always was on their lead rider with it being Stoner then Rossi, so if Dovi and Hayden can work together then maybe we'll see something special but I too have my doubts.

Hey guys! If you want to see some photos of the weekend's action of the Moto GP at Indianapolis, here you go. :D

I'm more concerned with the imminent graduation of Bradley smith. Why he has a motogp deal, I do not know. Since he was in 125's he's been making excuses that the bike was too small for him. He moves up to moto2 and occasionally shows a little promise but most of the time he is nowhere. He is going to be criminally slow in motogp.

Cheers for the pics ranhammer.

I believe he signed the MotoGP deal as part of his Moto2 contract but lets face it, Tech 3's Moto2 Chassis has been nothing short of terrible, very underdeveloped. I mean he might be amongst the CRT's next year or he might be challenging his team-mate (Crutchlow probably) but we don't know yet. Tech 3 obviously have faith in him but he shouldn't have an excuse not to deliver considering the Satellite M1's pace.

I do want to see Westy back in MotoGP though, during my interview with him, he expressed his intentions to bring QMMF forward into the top class on a CRT spec bike, providing he stays with the team of course.
