He was linked with the United job somewhat, don't make me bring up Cleverly and Fellaini....

In fairness, don't think Van Gaal will have much time for Cleverley....

Fellaini will stay in the basis that we paid an eff ton of money for him and won't get any back for selling.

United shouldn't have offered Moyes compensation for being sacked, they could have given Fellaini as a 28 million pound asset...

Looks like Deschamps didn't want any of

De champs.

In all seriousness though, am I the only person round these parts who doesn't rate Nasri at all? Never have, probably never will. He's the type of player I'd never want in my team- one who only plays well when all 10 other players he's out there with are also playing well.

Watch pretty much any City game he's featured in (or go back to his Arsenal days even) and you'll start to notice a pattern. When there's a fast breakaway and the ball comes to Nasri, he...stops. Stands on the ball, kills the counter, forces a reset. Other times he'll get the ball and linger on it for 6 or 8 touches, then make a pass he could've made first time, but now it's too late and the move breaks down.

I don't doubt his ability to hit a pass (although the lack of speed with which he picks them is a problem) or find the back of the net (although his goalscoring totals aren't exactly impressive) but his consistency is nonexistent, and he completely disappears far, far to often.

There have been games I've watched where he's been on the field for 90 minutes and I couldn't tell you a single thing he did on either side of the ball. That's not really the sort of player you want in your national team.

Not that I want it to be, but just a crazy appointment which I think might just happen.

On the right is how the table would have looked if only goals by English players counted.

On the right is how the table would have looked if only goals by English players counted.

What that table shows is just how much of a mess clubs like West Brom is in, rubbish and full of foreign players no better than home grown players, not sure how that's helpful to the game at all. At least most of the foreign players at Man City are quality players who really add something to the league.

Some great facts from this season...

This is the first Premier League season to feature two teams scoring over 100 goals, Man City on 102 and Liverpool with 101, Chelsea are the only other team to score 100 or more with 103 in 09/10 season

The last top-flight season to see two teams break the 100 goal mark was 1960/61 season, when Spurs, Wolves, and Burnley all did it

Sunderland became the only the second team to be bottom at Christmas and not be relegated, West Brom were famously the first in 04/05

This is the first season where both the bottom team at Christmas stayed up (Sunderland) and the top team didn't win the title (Liverpool) since 90/91 (Sheffield United and Liverpool respectively)

Crystal Palace avoided relegation for the first time in PL, having being relegated in each of their previous four PL campaigns

Luis Suarez (31) is the second player to reach 30 goals in a single PL season without netting a penalty, Andy Cole was the first in 93/94 with 34 goals

Suarez equalled the record of 31 goals in a 38 game season, held by Shearer and Ronaldo

After taking just four points from their opening six away games, Man City took 30 from the remaining 13 matches on the road

2013-14 is the first season in PL History to see 10 managers leave a club before the final day

Suarez scored 10 times in December, becoming the first PL player to reach double figures in a single month

The PL lead has changed 25 times this season. Last season it only changed four times, 25 is the highest figure since the PL-record of 29 in 01/02

The Premier League was decided on the final day for the seventh time in 22 seasons

No team has leap-frogged the leaders on the final day to win the title since Arsenal did in 1988/89

This was the first time that a reigning Premier League champion finished outside the top six since Blackburn, who went from PL champions in 94/95 to 7th the next season

👍

Not bad considering he missed the first 5 games of the season through suspension

Another weird fact: Cardiff City (who finished last this season) made more TV money this season than last year's winners did last season...

Liverpool unveil their new away kit for next season, complete with tribute to the victims of Hillsborough... have to say it's one of the better looking strips in recent years...

I'm not keen. Perhaps it's the filter on the photograph. The jury is out until I see it 'in action'.

Well it certainly looks better than the abomination that was the 2013/14 away kit.

Cant wait to see United's kit with Chevrolet sponsorship, there have been a lot of 'rumoured kits' on Twitter so looking forward to seeing it...

What like we have done this season??

Anyway, FA Cup final this Saturday, Arsenal will obviously start as favourites but everyone said Man City would crush Wigan last year and look what happened there!

If Arsenal do not win this trophy, they should be expelled from the entire English system.

Arsenal have no injury problems and Arsene has a fully fit squad to chose from, the only injury worry for Hull is Chester who is very doubtful for the match, McGregor and Aluko are fit and training after returning from injury, don't forget Hull will be in the Europa League regardless of winning or not...

Long and Jelavic are cup tied I think.

If United's season were a car, it would be a G-Wizz.

Rubbish. Manchester United's season has been a Cadillac CTS; pretentions of quality, but ultimately underwhelming.

(Because, y'know, finishing in the top half of the most valuable and profitable division in the world is so awful.)

On that last bit, it's not so much where we finished, but how we played. Under Moyes, our style of football was terrible and we were going into every game with the mentality of being underdogs. Don't even get me started on Cleverley and Fellaini as well. I've seen my cat pass and tackle better than them.

Well United have delayed an announcement regarding Van Gaal until after Holland play Ecuador next week in other United news they have released their financial records and everything has gone up (profits, turnover etc...) apart from the debt which has gone down 4% to £351.7 mill, and remember it was well over £600 mill when the Glazers took over so it has gone down quite a bit in recent years and they also revealed that the club would lose around £35 mill by missing out on the Champions League, I thought it would be more than that..

So things aren't quite as bad as I thought it was. Although I'd describe our car as "Geoff".
