Norwich (4-2-3-1): John Ruddy - Russel Martin, Ryan Bennett, Sebastian Bassong, Martin Olsson - Leroy Fer, Bradley Johnson - Robert Snodgrass, Wesley Hoolahan, Nathan Redmond - Gary Hooper

Manchester United (4-2-3-1): David De Gea - Chris Smalling, Nemanja Vidic, Jonny Evans, Patrice Evra - Michael Carrick, Tom Cleverley- Ashley Young, Ryan Giggs, Shinji Kagawa - Javier Hernandez

No Rooney, but i'm happy to see Kagawa back in the starting 11.

Moyes said that Rooney isn't in the squad today because he is resting him.

Also lots of goals in the West Ham vs West Brom match. 3-3 so far.

What a game that was earlier (from a neutral's point of view anyway). End to end stuff.

Anyway, half time in the United match with a couple of controversial bookings. Also mainly Norwich in the first half. @Phoenix I thought it was a precautionary move because his groin injury has shown signs of recurring? Carrick hasn't been all that impressive and I think we should have rested him today for the Spurs game on Wednesday.

1-0 win for United. Not impressed at all by the performance, but the 3 points was crucial.
It was definitely a crucial 3 points to keep up with the rest and to give us momentum going into Wednesday's game. We were a lot better in the second half than the first though. When Welbeck came on, I saw that we were having more shots on goal and looked like scoring.

Good result, six wins in a row and only two points of the CL places...but there are four games tomorrow of course..

Hull put 6......SIX!! goals past Fulham today. Holy crap. Also Huddlestone ended his goal drought so he can finally cut his hair. Straight after he scored he ran off the pitch to get a chunk cut off

Fulham made too many changes and it backfired, one of the changes was leaving Parker out who was brilliant against Norwich, Man City made 6 changes earlier and it almost backfired on them..

Cardiff 2-0 up v Sunderland..

always surprises me how late crowds in England take a seat in the game, here in Egypt we enter hours before the game even starts.

Arsenal and Everton both winning so far, Arsenal only just!, Newcastle losing means Man Utd stay in 6th for now..

Chelsea v Liverpool and Spurs v Stoke next..

Liverpool 1-0 up after just 4 mins, Skrtel!

2-1 to Chelsea at half time..great game so far!

2-1 it finished, Spurs won 3-0, Liverpool lose back to back league games for the first time under Rodgers..

Was crapping myself during the last 15 minutes of the Arsenal v Newcastle game, really happy for the team holding onto the lead while we were being pummeled by the Newcastle attacking play.

Fair play to Newcastle, they certainly knew how to stop us playing and executed it perfectly 👍. They will probably feel a draw would have been a fair result, but I am delighted with gaining 3 points from them :).

So, being top of the league heading into the New Year certainly feels good and I am really surprised. If you would have told me back in August after the Villa game that we would be leading the pack 4 months later, I would have laughed in your face. Let's just hope we can continue in the same vain (though some more points against the big boys would be nice ;) ) for the second half, then hopefully the trophy wait will be over 👍

You know after the Man City game, I was going to let it slide, the poor officiating. But today against Chelsea was the icing on the cake. Absolutely shocking, in both games we didn't get the rub of the green when it came to the decisions, two massive games aswell.

As for the players, I'm happy with the effort they gave in both games. Definitely deserved better but we'll keep plugging away for the rest of the season.

Also I feel we need to sign atleast two quality players in the next window. Definitely need to strengthen our squad, so more additions would definitely help us moving forward.

So, the 2013/2014 BPL has reached its halfway point.
8 teams are within 9 points at the top of the table, rather unusual at this stage.

I'm holding Man City as slight favourites, with Arsenal and Chelsea as their main rivals.
I think Everton, Newcastle and Tottenham will fade out of it, while Liverpool and Man Utd will battle it out for the final CL spot.

Aaand now down to 5th. Also are any other Liverpool fans hoping we sign arda turan? Because i sure am.

It's possible, however I'm sure he's probably got a mssive buyout clause in his contract. Plus I'm sure other teams are looking at him and will be willing to pay for his buyout clause.

Nevertheless, I'm confident we can sign good quality signings in the January window though. 👍

Seems like every transfer window Liverpool has a similarly lengthy list of transfer rumours as to that of Chelsea. I don't believe any until I see them in a Blue shirt.

Just 2 points away from 1st place! :D

So Arsenal top the league going into 2014 and they also top the 2013 league for games played this calendar year with Man City 2nd and Man United 3rd..

...im trying to get the top scorers in 2013 up as well but I cant find it..

But they are still are not title contenders somehow

I think the general feeling is that City and Chelsea have the strongest squads depth-wise but Arsenal can always resolve that in the January window...which opens in just two days!

Turan, Tello, Dzsudzsák. We've been linked with them all for years, and I doubt Turan would leave Atletico when they're right up there in the La Liga table with Barca.

What i want from BR now is to try to sign some first team players. No more squad players (aspas, cissokho, the list goes on) I would like to think that if we did at least show turan an offer that he would at least consider it heavily. But what we need is to finish in the top 4 first to make those top quality signings.

Happy New Year to you guys! (I know im early but who cares!)

On Boxing day it was the first time every team in the league played on the same day for five years (apart from the last day of every season) and tomorrow every team are playing again, here are the fixtures...

Arsenal v Cardiff
Crystal Palace v Norwich
Fulham v West Ham
Liverpool v Hull
Man United v Tottenham (5.30 BT)
Southampton v Chelsea (3.00 BT)
Swansea v Man City (12.45 SKY)
Stoke v Everton
Sunderland v Aston Villa
West Brom v Newcastle

3 telly games, all the others are 3pm kickoffs, the pick is easily United v Spurs but there are 3 massive games at the bottom of the table!

Team of the year anyone? 2013 calendar year of course. EPL team and/or World Team? I will post mine when I am at an actual computer. Happy new year everyone!
