Having 0 CPs cost me in the end as I ended up taking the risk of sticking with my per-qualifying picks. It didn't work :banghead:

1,5,7.
I feel very fortunate this round, things weren't looking too good before the Bianchi's car took off on it's own.

4th, 7th and 9th plus 8 bonus points , but I used a CP I did not have and did not pick the winner :grumpy:

This probably means a drop in the standings again

A very good points haul, 7th place and climbing :D I'd forgotten i'd used a CP for Alonso though.

Provisional picks for Hungary:

Raikkonen, Rosberg, Webber

I've got 5 CP's in the bag, may as well use one. VET, RAI, ROS. Might use up a second one and swap Rosberg for Alonso though.

Into the top five. :D

Edit: Picks for Hungary. Webber, Raikkonen & Hamilton.

Temporary Selections:
1- Sebastian Vettel
3- Fernando Alonso
10- Lewis Hamilton

Wow, I'm pleased that I've gained 2 places despite my 1-5-9. I'll wait until after P1 for my decision, though.

Is it worth me joining this now after nearly half the season gone?

Or wait until next season?

It's worth it if you're planning on playing next season. There is a system in place so that you are awarded points up until the point you started playing (I think it is the lowest score for each week combined, which should give around 600 points or so). Towards the end some people forget to make selections and some people give up completely, so you should climb pretty quickly if you're active.

This season a new system of Consecutive picks is in place:

Also, the consecutive pick allocation for 2014 will be for the top 15 instead of the top 10.

  • Champion: 5
  • 2-5: 3
  • 6-10: 2
  • 11-15: 1

So if you finish in the top 15, which is still possible, you get an extra CP which gives you an advantage next season. You will also get used to the way the rules work and get used to picking the right drivers. Sometimes picking good drivers in qualifying can pay dividends, even if they're drivers you don't expect to do well (Such as Maldonado in Spain last year), but sometimes it can be the exact opposite (See Rosberg in Bahrain this year).

Well, the top score came from a 1-2-5, so you weren't too far from it.

Judging from the pix rule I just learned about I will be definitely picking the lotus boys plus Rosburg. Actually Mark instead of Romain. I plan on climbing up the points latter knocking out all the no shows 1st!

1. Kimi R.
2. Nico R.
3. Mark W.

Ok, I'm in. Even though I've missed half the season should be good to see how far I can go.

My picks for Hungary;

1 - Kimi Raikkonen
2 - Fernando Alonso
3 - Lewis Hamilton

Can I join in, even though we're half the season?

Quick question, how does the pick system work? I read the OP over and over again, but I have no clue...

Of course you can still join, you'll even be given the lowest number of points from each round you missed (which is currently 449 points). Granted you probably won't win the championship, but scoring a top-15 and getting a consecutive pick for next year is still possible.

What exactly are you not getting?

The picks are just the race or we pick the drivers througout the prctices, qualifying and race?

You pick for the race, but can pick up bonus points depending on when you submitted them.👍

Ah right, thanks.

I picked Vettel, Alonso and Raikkonen.

These three because they are in top form, so as Webber, but he misses every single start, he just can't get off the line quickly enough. The Mercs are not quite there to win races so I wouldn't bet on them just yet, but we'll see. Romain will be strong if he can go through the first corner without hitting someone. :)
