The European season is over and now the teams are back to the long fly away races. Development has almost stopped on the current cars as the teams look ahead to next year, however in the mean time this years championship is really hotting up, if drivers don't make their charge against Vettel now they may not get another try.

Glad that the Sling has gone. This is one of the races I look forward to in the year. The night aspect is a cool gimmick, but it has produced so many good races in its few races on the calendar, controversial or not.

Until I see what the new turn 10 is I will reserve judgement on it.

You always get your moneys worth with this race. Looking forward to it. Having said that, I can't see anyone but Vettel winning though.

I love Singapore, always a good race. I see Mercedes winning if they can get a front row lockout.

Also am I right in saying every Singapore race has had the safety car out at some point?

Mercedes has a great chance of locking out the rest of the teams if they can get a 1-2 in quali.

I'm glad that horrible Singapore Sling chicane's gone, lap times are gonna fall a bit.

and about the weather, it rains most everytime F1 goes there, but only during the day, GP2 may get some, which will be interesting to watch. I love watching the GP2 race during the day, track looks great still.

That is because of unique rainforest weather iirc. You can almost set your clock by the 5pm thunderstorm each day. It is why Sepang got drenched ever since moving the time slot back.

If it did rain for the F1 it would be a fantastic race I think.

I think Hamilton will win, Vettel might have won the last 2 years but Hamilton has looked really strong at this track but the results don't really reflect it, should've won last year but his car blew up.

I'm looking forward to this one, as this is the first race I will ever be attending in person :D

Enjoy it :D I know when I went to my first race in Melbourne this year, the first time I heard the roar of the F1 cars flying past, it was absolutely breathtaking and I'll never forget it

I'm hoping but also believing that Mercedes will be strong here and RBR might not have the race all to themselves. If they do and Vettel wins then the 2013 will be seriously set and match.

Hoping for a Hamilton, Raikkonen and Alonso podium.

I'm also glad they changed T10, it really didn't add anything to the track except repair bills and something for the drivers and commentators to bitch about for half an hour.

I'd quite like someone other than Vettel to win and try and keep the championship close and exciting for a bit longer, but if it was my own money I wouldn't put it on anyone else. He's a man on top of his game in a great car.

Before we go any further, some of you may find useful the link to ignore JGreens. ;)

Is that forum based or user based?

I'm surprised to see many rooting for Hamilton, I'm not sure if it's due to wanting the season not be taken out of reach further by Vettel or what. I'm gonna go with Lewis as well and hope for a good finish from Nico maybe a podium. Also I never really liked Massa but I'd like to see him create trouble.

And what is wrong with JGreens? Is there something I have missed?

Obviously, other than the fact that he tries to derail each F1 thread with his anti-Vettel crusade. I mean some of us dislike the guy, but JGreens goes out of his way and then some when it come to doing so.

So I keep coming across claims that this track is trickier than Monaco, or rather it requires double the energy to navigate. Is it really that demanding?

It is like Monaco but on the equator. It is hot there even at night.

Have fun! :D

Thanks guys! Yep I'm definitely looking forward to hearing them in person, have had enough of Youtube videos! :grumpy:

I'll be rooting for Hamilton or Alonso, though I do feel Vettel will take another easy win here.

Yeah Singapore is never cold, the same baking temperature day and night all year round! Love this race, its the one I most look forward to every year. I think Alonso might do it.

While we're at it, please eliminate at least four corners from turns 16-21, because they're effectively the same. And they look exactly the same on TV, at night. Also, abolish that annoying flashing billboard on the start/finish stretch with extreme prejudice; it adds exactly nothing to the presentation value of the racing.

I find his posts hilariously funny.

Thank you 👍

I may well put money on a Blondie win, so if all else fails, I still come away a penny better off than I did before! Although for £100 investment, it's not a profitable scheme. Hmph! I should of put money on my correct announcement back in Monaco for the big £££, all of ten pence more I suppose. Ah well.
