A friend of mine throws a bit of octane booster into his Subaru when he wants to drive in anger. C&D should probably follow suit for its tests in CA to give a fair comparison for the rest of the planet.

I can't see them doing something like that and getting away with calling it fair. They'd lose whatever credibility they have left.

That stuff has been known to foul plugs, and I've never known anyone that actually swears by it.

They'd obviously put it in all tested cars, I'm not too knowledgable about the specifics of octane booster but allowing the turbo cars to run boost at what they'd normally use while having no detrimental effects to the NA or lower boost competitors doesn't sound unfair to me.

Me neither, I just know a guy who uses it occasionally.

Besides, car mags are already infamous for ruining test cars.

Not sure about the conditions not much detail as it was just a single page review towards to back of the issue.

Tires are a special version of the current cars Dunlop sports maxx called the NR1.its a softer compound with 2/32nds less tread
Are they runflats

Are they runflats

yup.. at a glance they look just like the 2012+ dunlops but if you know your tire the tread pattern is different and more shallow not to mention they are supposed to me really sticky when they heat up...but yeah all this while still being like a 38 lb runflat

You're getting a NISMO as a replacement, sorry if I don't feel sympathy for you

it just puts things in perspective. for instance I had a big track day this monday and I had to borrow a friends car a JCW GP Mini Cooper lol... I had to relearn straight drive and FF while on track.. I did better than I thought but that was like living on another planet haha

The latest GT3 version of the NISMO GTR was spotted testing and includes some bodywork and aesthetic updates that bring it visually in line with the GTR NISMO. If you look closely you will see the GT3 has now adopted the front and rear fascia designs of the GTR NISMO road car. it also features the red outline branding and 2015 lightning bolt headlights

I'd like to hear a follow up on the vin# designation in the future (to add to my encyclopedia of GT-R info)

Just wanted to follow up with you as I got an answer about the VIN designation. I got my VIN# last week and my car was built in June and it is confirmed the #1 GTR NISMO ever produced for the US. However surprisingly the VIN range for the GTR NISMO is not separate from the 2015 GTR range as a whole. that was a little disappointing to learn that they dont have their own unique serialization as I speculated about since im really big into special little stuff like that. I am supposed to be getting some special documentation to show mine was #1 though so thats exciting

Thanks man!! The same can be said about the other GT-R trims (concluded from research, not sure if true). Just thrown a common vin on the line. At least the unique documentation will help with authentication in the way distant future. The mystery.... Is theres a range of consecutive vin serials for the Nismos (doubt so).

I imagine the CF fenders in the N Attack package becoming a popular mod like with the Z-Tune fenders

It's time for another one of these: http://books.google.com/books?id=uq...rYEo&ved=0CDcQ6AEwAA#v=onepage&q=GT-R&f=false

there isnt no. I have a friend who is getting one of the first few cars and his VIN was 30+ cars past mine. knowing its the first and since production is limited to well under 10 per month we can conclude they arnt consecutive

I would love the fenders one day that and maybe the wing extension.

the N attack packages are crazy though. roughly 80K over a standard NISMO for the exact car that ran the ring and about 40K more for a more road friendly version. the 4 way suspension doesnt interest me as it losses the ability to use the dash set up switch and although I track im not that hardcore. so the fenders the wing extension and the ECU/TCM are what I would want out of the package

That's really too bad about the VIN. With a car this exclusive you would think the NISMO would have its own VIN's, totally separate from regular base 2015's. Cool that you get documentation that you got the 1st US model, but a VIN showing that would be that much cooler imo.

So @MCNAGTROC when you getting your car?

looks like its going to be another month unfortunately. It was built the end of June which is great.... but because production is so low they held it to ship along with the full month of July production to have a more visible on sale presence. So im guessing first couple weeks of September now as its still in Japan as I type this. Im also on the east coast so transit time to east coast ports are about a week or so longer than to say california
