Finally got my hand on the GTA final round today, after sitting tight on my racing seat for totally 1.5 hours, I managed to get gold with 2'20.883, i would say actually it is not very difficult, the tricky part is that you have to concentrate very seriously on this long circuit and ask yourself can you do better on this or that corner in next lap?

Small mistakes or distraction on your mind could totally ruin your lap, especially when it comes to straight road acceleration after a wrong apex attack…..

just want to get the car reward, think i will not challenge again shortly……no point of doing that because Hong Kong is not approved to participate GTA, only in virtual life, and too many aliens are out there, I will NEVER get close to their record!!!

Yes, I managed to bite off 20+ minutes yesterday and got a decent 2:22,something with enough room to get down to 2.21,000. The only thing. I totally lost motivation. Not sure if I get back to this event. Sad story... :(

The only motivation to me is the new Nismo GT3, nothing else, i managed to get silver with something 2.21.7xx after 10 mins and i used nearly rest of my 1.5 hours to get gold……just kept telling myself i got to get the damn car……its not even available in the car dealership!

Gave this a first run yesterday and I loved it! I'm not a fan of understeer, so having the ability to rotate the car with the throttle is a bonus for me. Using a DS3 though, you have to be really careful about doing it and opted to pump the throttle rather than feed it in. Wheel available when I have more time, but a 1:19.xxx felt good anyway!

I was ecstatic when I completed the lap, ranked 315th! I'm used to being in the 1000-2000 range for regular time trials and 4000-6000 for GTA... That is when I realised that it was telling me where I rank in the UK only! I think there may be some time to find if I want to progress....

I don't get all the fuss about getting gold this event with a DS3, i did it with a bit of effort, managed a 2.19.5. Yes it's tough and those cones are really a damn nuisance.... that's what you get people from using SRF hihihihii :embarrassed:.

Ofc i'm not good enough for being on the top list of my own country, but still i like to think that as DS3 user i'm not doing that badly + for now i'm faster than nowcontrol so i'm happy hihihihihhi :irked:

Hahaha......I haven't given this round much effort yet, only done about an hour on it to gold it and claim the prize car. Will probably do a serious stint at the weekend. 👍

My current lap time is 2:20.241 for the OP.

2:26.214 first attempt. And first time for me to make a clean lap on the first attemp, a very easy car to drive, fun to slide a little bit out of the corners. Will try more another time

Well finally reached my goal and broke the 19 barrier which i was stuck on with a 2:18.797 with ds3 abs 1 and yes my auto  so i'm happy with that :D......Well good luck to all the AUSSIES 👍 and good luck to everyone else :)

i know you are gonna make me rage again, as soon as you will put some effort on it mate :banghead: !

Ahahahha :ouch:

Anyone notice that in the scrolling text at the bottom of the GT6 My Home menu it says "Round 4 events of GT Academy 2104 are now available!"?

There's also a mistake on the dashboard in interior view. On one of the switches it says 'Igition' instead of ignition. It's the same in a few other models of GT-R as well.

I'll still be trying these unrealistic tricks, @gtpcaine, @GTP_CargoRatt etc.

I'm just saying, I wish I didn't have to. Nissan wants a good driver for their real motorsports program. That person should be able to find a few seconds from oversteer and such, yes. But, although I'll do it, it takes away from immersion factor.

In my opinion, it is not necessary to do the slidey apex thing to get a top time in this combo.

Could you provide some sort of proof to substantiate your opinion? I'm all ears, and quite interested. If you think you can get a 2'14.xyz without slidey apex thing, I'd love to hear how. :D

Gave this a try yesterday for about half an hour, managed a 2:16.550 but I know where to find time. Just need some free time and lots of monster energy haha

Well I'm currently on 2:15.431, and had an awful first sector (37.15) so there's a quarter of a second there. The rest of the lap was quite scrappy too.

For the first corner I take a wide entry and get really tight to the wall at the apex, and get on the power ASAP, a little oversteer on the exit is OK, getting on the power and getting the turbo spinning quickly is most important. 2nd gear for me.

For the final chicane, again second gear only, wide entry and tight as possible to the apex in the first bit, and floor it as soon as you're straight to the left hander. As with the first corner, getting the turbo spinning ASAP on the exit.

I'm aiming for a 2:14.XX with no apexy slidey business.

Managed 1'16.274 but then the electricity was gone (Egypt), I can get into the 1'15s if I manage to string my best sectors and I now know which corner are my downfall. Pretty good hour.

Not sure why you tagged me here and what unrealistic "tricks" you think I'm doing, but I think you need to explain yourself. All I am doing is what I find to work for me in trying to get the fastest time, no intentional unrealistic tricks, as you say. So please, step down off your elitist soap box and explain yourself....I don't like being accused of such things, especially when I don't recall saying such things, when all I'm trying to do is get the fastest lap possible.

You might want to quote the right person before pointing out that someone tagged the wrong person :P

Thank you....and fixed. Just curious though why he felt the need to tag me when I haven't promoted any particular type of tactics.

EDIT: Damn, double post. :dunce: I'm really on my game today , think I need to go back to bed.

But no one accused you? It was probably so you wouldn't criticize him for using those tactics.

"Elitist soap box" was a good one, though.

2:20.102 last night. Also ran a 2:20.2 in spite of being a half second slower in the 1st sector so I can get under 20 without learning anything new.

GTP_SuperFlair
2.16.892.
After being stuck on a 2.18.3 all last night things are really clicking quite quickly today. Couple of big mistakes in the early part of the lap as well. Makes me think I may be able to sneak into the 15s by the end of this comp. my aim to be in the uk top 100 is on target. 86th at the moment.

Stuck at 2:21.4xx. Really want the car. Spent three hours last night trying to go from silver to gold...just not happening for me. Working hard with the DS3 to accomplish this, but apparently, I'm "skill-limited". Good work by those who can knock this out with minimal effort.

He had me tagged though as if I said something promoting whatever tactics he is moaning about. At any rate, it is what it is and I've move onto trying to improve some more...its starting out to be a decent day so far.

And yea, "elitist soap box".....you like that one. I just was rambling and that's what came out, nothing personal meant by it really, just a rambling. I'm sure he's a good chap and means well. 👍

Dont give up mate. I also thought I wouldn´t get the car and yesterday got the gold! :)

I used these settings on the DS3:

ABS:1
Controller SS:7
TCS:2

All the remaining 0/Turned OFF.

Chat soon. :)
